INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
LOCK-OUT UNIT

HAC 30

DESCRIPTION

The HAC 30 Lock-Out Unit can be attached to the HA 30
Shutter Module. The Lock-Out Unit ensures against unwanted
closing of a shutter, e.g. of an opened veranda door, while you
are outside your home.

MOUNTING

NOTE:

Operate the HAC 30 Lock-Out Unit only in conjunction
with other Honeywell-approved devices.

1. Choose a site for installation of the magnet:

− On the top of the door

− With as much clearance to the door pivot

2. Secure the magnet to the top of the door wing.

3. Secure the reed contact to the door wing opposite from the
magnet.

4. Cut the cable for the reed contact to length or lengthen it so
that it reaches to the corresponding HA 30 Shutter Module.

5. Remove the housing cover from the HA 30.

6. Using metal cutters, snip out the tab in the side wall of the
housing cover.

7. Using a screwdriver, lever out and snip out the tab located
on the opposite side.

8. Place the cable leading to the HA 30 through the opening in
the housing base.

9. Insert the terminal block into the corresponding plug contact
located in the housing base of the HA 30.

NOTE

The contact features two pairs of prongs: Use only the
copper-colored pair! The silver-colored prongs can be
cut off. The cable loop inside the HA 30 should be as
short as possible.

10. Pull the cable far enough out of the housing base so that
the length of the cable remaining inside the HA 30 is as
short as possible.

11. Replace the housing cover of the HA 30 and snap it into
place.

12. Test for proper functioning: After opening the door/window,
the shutter must not be lowered.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Cause Solution

The shutter is
closed even
though the door is
open.
The contact does
not function
reliably.

Incorrect (silver­colored) pair of
prongs have been
attached.
The distance
between the reed
contact and the
magnet is too
large.
Magnetic screw /
mounting material
has been used.

Attach the correct
(copper-colored)
pair of prongs.

Reduce the
distance.

Use non-magnetic
mounting
materials.
