DESCRIPTION
The high efficiency F50F Electronic Air Cleaner is mounted in the return air duct of a forced air heating, cooling or ventilation system. It removes airborne particles such as dust, soot, pollen, tobacco smoke and cooking smoke from the air circulated through it. Both models have an internal air flow switch to operate the F50F when the blower is on.
Each model features a solid state power pack which is self regulating and maintains peak efficiency over a wide range of cell dirt loading conditions.
The product's electrostatic cells can be easily removed for cleaning using water and detergent.
Performance jumper allows operation with reduced
ozone production

FUNDAMENTALS
Two-stage Precipitation
Honeywell Electrostatic Air Cleaners employ two-stage electrostatic precipitation to remove contaminants from the air in office buildings and commercial premises.
Polluted air is cleaned as it passes through the electrostatic cell. Firstly a high voltage is applied to the stream of air in the ionising stage. This charges the dirt particles which are then attracted onto oppositely charged plates in the collecting stage, similar to the way in which iron filings are attracted to a magnet.
The cleaned air is then ducted back into the room or living space.
After a period of time the cell can be removed and the collected dirt washed off with water and detergent.

APPLICATION
The F50F range of Electrostatic Air Cleaners is designed for use in forced air heating, cooling and ventilating systems in offices, bars, restaurants and other commercial and public buildings.
The Air Cleaner should be mounted in the return air duct close to the fan so that it can help keep the fan motor and evaporator coils clean thus reducing maintenance.

INSTALLATION AND LOCATION
Note
1. For most efficient air cleaning, air flow must be spread evenly across the face of the air cleaner.
2. Do not mount in the discharge air duct.

Turning Vanes
If the Air Cleaner is installed close to an elbow or angle fitting, install turning vanes inside the angle to distribute airflow more evenly across the face of the cell.
Determine Duct Design Requirements
The Air Cleaner is adaptable to all new and existing forced air heating, cooling and ventilating systems used in commercial buildings. Transitions, turning vanes, or offsets may be needed in some applications for effective operation.
Choose a location that is readily accessible for regular inspection and cleaning. Allow at least 330 mm in front of the access door for removing the prefilter and electronic cell. Allow enough room above the power supply so it can be serviced without removing pipes, ducts, or other heating system components.
The Air Cleaner must be installed where the air temperature will not exceed 50°C.
Transitions
If the duct and the air cleaner cabinet are different in size, transitions are recommended. Gradual transitions reduce air turbulence and increase efficiency.
Recommend no more than 20° expansion per side (100 mm per 300 linear mm)

CAPACITY, EFFICIENCY AND PRESSURE DROP
Efficiency of cells is based on ASHRAE Standard 52.1-92, Atmospheric Dust Spot efficiency.
This test gives the most accurate comparison of high efficiency filtration for sub-micron particles.
