Installation of the device

General information:

- When mounting the device basis make sure the displays of the aspirating smoke detection system are clearly visible.

- The air outlet of the device basis must not be blocked (the distance between the air outlet and adjacent objects (e.g. wall) is to be at least 10 cm).

- The device basis can be mounted with the aspiration pointing upwards or downwards. The connection for the air sampling pipe is marked with a
“V” (see fig. A). If the aspiration comes from downwards, make sure no impurities enter the air outlet which then points upwards.

Procedure:

1. First, clearly mark the fixing points for mounting the device basis at its position. If necessary, use the provided drilling jig.

2. Fix the device basis by means of four screws (max. ∅ of 4mm) safe to the underground. Make sure the device is not fixed under mechanical
tension and the screws are not tightened too much.

Notes:

- For the fixing of the device basis only use installation material that is suitable for the on-site installation and that ensures a safe and durable fixing.

- When fixing the device basis, attention has to be paid to the marking for the connection of the pipe system (see fig. A).

3. Open the necessary pre-punched cable entries in the device basis (max. 8 x M20 and 6 x M25). If necessary, use a screwdriver.

4. Carefully equip the cable entry/entries with M20 or M25 cable entries (2 x M25, 1 x M20 included in the delivery) by inserting them into the corre­sponding cable entries.

5. Insert the required connection cable(s) (max. 2,5 mm

) into the prepared cable entries and wire the devices according to the circuit connections

described at the following page.

Note:

If the detection unit of Honeywell COMPACT is to be installed at a later stage, the mounted device basis can be protected against excessive con­tamination by using the bottom of the supplied card box.
In order to use the bottom of the card box as a dust protection, please proceed as follows:

1. Carefully separate the cover along the pre-punched perforation from the bottom of the carton.

2. Open the required openings for the connections of the pipe system, the air return and the cable entries by separating the openings carefully along
the pre-punched perforation from the bottom of the card box.

3. Put the bottom of the card box as protection over the mounted device basis.
