Preparation
Install Display on solid horizontal surface such as a table or desk. For ventilation, leave a space of at least 10 cm free all around the set. To prevent any fault
and unsafe situations, please do not place any objects on top of the set.
Installation Of The TFT TV To The Wall
1- To install the TFT TV on the wall, first of all, foot assembly should be removed. Unscrew
the 2 screws that attach the foot top cover and the 4 screws that attach the foot to the TFT panel and remove the foot assembly from the TFT panel.

2- Place the 4 hangers to the circular screw holes at the rear of the TFT and screw them to the TFT panel with 4 (M4 x 10) screws.
3- Decide the place on the wall where the TFT panel would be placed. Level and mark with a pencil the 4 mounting points on the wall hanger. Drill pilot holes for the plastic anchors and then fix the wall hanger with 4 screws (4x 30).
4- Raise the TFT panel and hang it to the holes on the wall bracket from the 4 hanging screwsat the rear of the TFT panel.

DO’s
This Television has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards, but like any electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the
best results and safety is to be assured. DO read the operating instructions before
you attempt to use the equipment. DO consult your dealer if you are in any
doubt about installation, operation or safety of your equipment.
DO be careful with glass panels or doors on equipment.
This TV is supplied with a fitted mains plug. This plug must not be cut off as it may con­tain a special radio interference filter, the re­moval of which could lead to impaired per-
formance. If you wish to extend the lead, ob­tain an appropriate safety approved exten­sion lead or consult your dealer.
Observe the manufacturers instructions when connecting extension leads to the TV.
Check the fuse rating on the new plug, this should be fitted with a 5 Amp fuse which conforms to either ASTA or BSI (BS1 362) approvals, these are easily identifiable by ei-
ther the or symbols. If you are in

any doubt about the installation of an exten­sion lead, please consult a competent elec-
trician.
DON’Ts
DON’T continue to operate the equipment if
you are in any doubt about it working nor­mally, or if it is damaged in any way switch off, withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.
DON’T place water filled vessels on top of T.V.cabinets.
DON’T remove any fixed cover as this may expose dangerous voltages.
DON’T leave equipment switched on when it is unattended unless it is specifically stated that it is designed for unattended operation or has a stand-by mode. Switch off using the switch on the equipment and make sure
your family know how to do this. Special ar­rangements may need to be made for infirm or handicapped people.
DON’T use equipment such as personal stereos or radios so that you are distracted from the requirements of traffic safety. It is illegal to watch television whilst driving.
DON’T obstruct the ventilation of the equip­ment, for example with curtains or soft fur-
nishings. Overheating will cause damage and shorten the life of the equipment.
DON’T use makeshift stands and NEVER fix legs or stands to the TV with any screws
other than those provided - to ensure com­plete safety always use the manufacturers approved stand with the fixings provided.
DON’T allow electrical equipment to be ex­posed to rain or moisture.

• NEVER let anyone, especially children push anything into holes, slots or any
other opening in the case - this could re­sult in a fatal electric shock.

1. Power Source
The TV set is designed to operate on 12 V DC. The adaptor should be operated from a 220-240V AC, 50 Hz. outlet. Ensure you se­lect the correct voltage setting for yourconve­nience.
2. Power Cord
The power supply cord should be placed so that it is not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon them or against it. Pay particular attention to cord where it enters
the plug, power outlet, and the point where it exitsfrom the receiver.
3. Moisture and Water
Do not use this equipment in a humid and damp place (avoid the bathroom, the sink in
the kitchen, and near the washing machine). Do not expose this equipment to rain or wa­ter, as this may be dangerous and do not place objects filled with liquids on top. Avoid from dripping or splashing.
4. Cleaning
Before cleaning, unplug the receiver from the main supply, outlet. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use soft and dry cloth.
5. Ventilation
The slots and openings on the receiver are intended for ventilation and to ensure reli­able operation. To prevent overheating, these openings must not be blocked or cov­ered in anyway.
6. Lightning
In case of storm and lightning or when go­ing on holiday, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
7. Replacement Part
When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement
parts which are specified by the manufacturer or have the same specifications as the origi­nal one. Unauthorised substitutions may re­sult in fire,electrical shock, or otherhazards.

8. Servicing
Please refer all servicing to qualified per­sonnel. Do not remove cover as this may re-
sult in electric shock.
9. Naked Flame Sources
Do not place naked flame sources on the apparatus.
WARNING: When the device is not in use for a long time, disconnect from power.
Instructions for waste disposal:
• Packaging and packaging aids are recy­clable and should principally be recycled. Packaging materials, such as foil bag, must be kept away from children.
• Battery, including those which i s hea vy metal-free, should not be disposed of with
household waste. Please dispose of used battery in an environmentally sound man­ner. Find out about the legal regulations which apply in your area.

Inserting Batteries In The Remote Control Handset
• Remove the battery cover located on the back of the handset by gently pulling up-
wards from the indicated part.
• Insert two AAA (R03) or equivalent type of batteries inside.
• Replace the battery cover.

IMPORTANT: The TV set is designed to op-
erate on 12 V DC. For this, an adaptor is used which gives 12V DC voltage. Connect this adaptor to a system that supplies 220-
240V AC, 50 Hz.
•After unpacking,allow the TV set to reach the ambient room temperature before you con­nect the set to the mains.

How To Connect Other Devices
IMPORTANT: Switch off the TV before con-
nectingany externaldevice. Sockets for external connections are at the
rear side of the TV.For connection of other devices via SCART refer to the manuals of
the related devices.
NOTE: Remove the batteries from remote control handset when it is not to be used for a long period.Otherwise it can be damaged due to any leakage of batteries.
Switching TheTV ON/OFF
To switch the TV on:
Your TV will switch on in two steps: 1- Connect the power supply cord to the sys-
tem. Press the “ ” button on the right side of the TV. Then the TV switches itself to stand-by mode and the led becomes red located onthefrontof the TV.
2- To switch on the TV from stand-by mode
either:
Press a digit button on the remote control so that a programme number is selected,
or, Press the “-P/CH” or “P/CH+”button on the
right side of the TV or press the “-P/CH” or “P/CH+” buttonon the remote control, so that
the last programme switched off is selected. Either way the TV will switch on and the LED
becomes green.

Initial Settings
When the TV is turned on for the first time, it is in the digital mode.
Because this is the first time the TV is used, there are no channels stored in the memory
and the following message appears on the screen.
After Automatic Search process is com­pleted, the following message asking for
analogue channel search appears on the screen. TV switches to the analogue TV mode.

search for analogue channels.

The IDTV will automatically tune to the UHF transmision channels 21 to 68 looking for digital terrestrial TV broadcasts and display-
ing the names of channels found. This pro­cess will take about five minutes. To cancel searching, you can press the “M” button at any time during the process.

If you do notaccept the locations and / or the programme names of programmes, you can change them in Program menu. For de­tails see Program menu on page 26.
To display channel list in IDTV, switch to the IDTV via pressing the “TV/DTV” button. Then press the “M ” button to enter main menu, Channel List will be highlighted. Press the “SELECT” button to enter the
menu. For detailed information see page
14.
Operating The TV
Operating with the buttons on the TV set
Volume setting and programme selection can be made by using the buttons at the control panel on the right side of the TV.
Volume Setting
Press the “- VOLUME ” button to decrease volume or the “VOLUME +” button to in-
crease volume, so a volume level scale (slider) will be displayed on the screen.
Programme Selecting
Press the “P/CH +” button to select the next programme or the “- P/CH” button to select the previous programme.
Entering Main Menu
Press “MENU” button to enter Main menu. In the Main menu select submenu using
- P/CH” or “P/CH +” button and enter the sub-menu using “- VOLUME” or “VOLUME +” button.
AV Mode
Press the “TV / AV” button at the control panel on the right side of the TV to switch your TV to AV modes.
Operating With Remote Control
The remote control handset of your TV is de­signed to control all the functions of the model you selected. The functions will be
described in accordance with the menu sys­temof yourTV.
Functions of the menu system are de­scribed in Menu System section.
Volume Setting
Press the “ +” button to increase volume. Press the “- ” button to decrease volume.
A volume level scale (slider) will be dis­played onthe screen.

Programme Selecting
(Previous or next programme)
• Pressthe “- P/CH” button to selectthe previ- ous programme.
• Press the “P/CH +” button toselect the next programme.
Programme Selecting (direct access):
Press digit buttons on the remote control handset to select programmes between 0 and 9. The TV will switch to the selected programme after a short delay.
• For a two digit program number enter the second digit after pressing the first digit within 2 seconds.

Pressing the “TV/DTV” button at any time while watching television programmes will switch the TV set between displaying the
digital terrestrial television broadcasting and its normal analogue broadcasting.
Information Banner
Whenever you change channel, using the “P/CH +” / “- P/CH” button or the digit but­tons, TV displays the channel picture along
with an information banner at the bottom of the screen. This will remain on the screen for approximately three seconds. The infor­mation banner can also be displayed at any time while watching TV by pressing the
“INFO” button ontheremotecontrol.

Signal Level:
1. BBCONE
The information banner gives a number of facts on the channel selected and the programmes on it. The name of the channel is displayed, along with its channel list num­ber and an indication of the strength of the
signal received on this tuning channel.

programme data. If the name and times of the programme is not available then “No Information Available” are displayed in the
information banner.
Icons are also displayed in the information banner and if this channel is a favourite channel:

Some, but not all, channels send informa­tion about the current and next events. Please note that event information is up­dated automatically. If there is no event infor­mation data available in channels, only

• In EPG Menu, you can easily see the ex-
tended help information by pressing “INFO”

Displaying The Subtitles
With Digital terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T), some programmes are broadcast with sub­titles. Subtitles can be displayed when watching these programmes.
Press the “M” button to display the Main menu, highlight the Configuration line using
or button and press the “SELECT” but-
ton to display the Configuration menu. Highlight the “Subtitle” item in Configura-
tion menu and use or button to set Subtitleto off or alanguage.
If “Subtitle” is on via selecting one language option, pressing the button causes the
following warning message display on the screen.
Interactive services cannot be used while subtitles are on. Would you like
to turn subtitles off now?

Digital Teletext
With Digital terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T), in addition to pictures and sound, you can
also watch digital teletext. Digital teletext is sometimes broadcast at
the same time as normal broadcasting.
1. Press the button.
The digital teletext information appears.
2. Operate it with the coloured buttons, / buttons and OK button.

on the contentsof the digital teletext. Follow the instructions displayed on digital
teletext screen.
• When “Press SELECT” button or similar message appears on the screen, press the “SELECT” button.
•When the (Text) button is pressed,theTV returns to television broadcasting.
• With Digitalterrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T), in addition to digital teletext broadcasting at the same time as normal broadcasting, there are also channels with just digital tele­text broadcasting.
• The aspect ratio when watching a channel with just digital teletext broadcasting is the same as the aspect ratio of the picture watched previously.
• When you pressthe (Text)buttonagain, the digital teletext screen is displayed.
Over Air Download
To ensure that your IDTV always has the most up-to-date information, please ensure
that after use it is set to its standby mode. At 3AM each day, the IDTV automatically searches for any new information which may be broadcast and will download this to
your IDTV automatically. This operation will normally take approximately 30 seconds.
If you want to do this, you need to set Auto­matic Download to “Enabled” in Receiver
Upgrade setting. For details see page 18.
Widescreen
Depending on the type of broadcast being transmitted, programmes can be viewed in
a number of formats. Press the “WIDE” but-
tonrepeatedlytoselect betweenAuto,fill all
or wide.
When Auto is selected, the format being dis- played is determined by the picture being
broadcast. Please Note: Menu size changes depending
on the chosen image size.
IDTVMenu System
The IDTV menu can only be shown when watching Digital terrestrial broadcasting. Press the “TV/DTV” button to turn IDTV on
while TV is in analogue mode. Press the “M” button. The menu below ap-
pears on the screen:

Using the or button on the remote con­trol in Main menu, make sure that the first item, Channel List, is highlighted and press
the “SELECT”button to display the Channel

Then the name and number of the selected channel will be displayed in the top-left and
top-right of the channel display at the top­right of the screen, respectively.
Deleting the channels in the channel list
Press or button to select the channel that will be deleted.
Press or button to select the ‘’Delete’’ item on Channel List menu. As seen on
Channel List menu, SELECT is written next to Delete item at the bottom of the screen to indicate that press the “SELECT” button to delete the highlighted channel in the chan­nel list.

Adding locks to channels
Channel Locking provides a password-pro­tected access to channels selected by par­ents. In order to lock a channel you should know the Parental Lock password (default value is set to 0000 in the factory and can
only be changed from the Configuration
Menu). Select the channel to be locked by highlight-
ing it and select the “Lock” option by press­ing or button. When the “SELECT”but­ton is pressed, a password box is dis­played.

Installation
The Installation menu mainly intends to help you for building a Channel Table in most effi- cient way.
Enter the password using the digit buttons on the remote control. The Lock icon will
now be displayed next to the selected chan­nel. Repeat the same operation to cancel
the Lock.
Setting Favourites
You can set various channels as favourites so that only the favourite channels are navi­gated. To set a favourite you should highlight the “Favourites” item at bottom of the Chan- nel List menu.
Use the or button to highlight the “Favourites” item at the base of the screen and then, in turn, highlight each channel you
want to add to the favourites list, using the and buttons (or (Red) / (Green) but-
tons), and press the “SELECT” button. A channel selected as a favourite appears in
the main channel list with a favourites icon ( ) against the channel name.

menu. All the services are searched and a channel table is created automatically.
All channels found are stored in a sorted form with respect to their channel numbers.

Manual Search:
In manual search, the number of the multi­plex is entered manually and only that multi-
plex is searched for the channels. For every valid channel number, signal level, signal quality and network name are shown at the bottom of the screen.
In both manual and auto search any existing channel in the database is not re-stored to avoid redundant duplicates of that channel.
FIRST TIME INSTALLATION
The user can use this item to load default settings, which had been loaded to the re­ceiver at the factory.
To install factory settings, highlight “First

Subtitle
Digital terrestrial television channels can broadcast subtitles displayed on-screen for the hard-of-hearing. This function selects the desired subtitle language and enables
the automatic display of subtitles whenever subtitle information is broadcast.
Highlight the Subtitle line in the Configura­tion menu and use the or button to cycle through “Off” and language options.
Favourite Mode
This function enables or disables the favourite channel list mode. See Channel
List menu Favourites on page16. Use or button to turn on/off favourite
mode. If the “Favourite Mode” is on, in nor- mal operating mode pressing “P/CH+” and “-
P/CH” buttons will only navigate through the channels that were previously defined as favourites in Channel List.
EPG Preference
Digital terrestrial television channels can broadcast simultaneous Next&Now and 7­Day electronic programme.
Highlight the EPG Preference line in the Configuration menu and use the or but-
ton to select Next&Now or 7-Day.
Receiver Upgrade
The IDTV can be upgradedvia theconfigura­tion menu, entered from the main menu.
In the Configuration menu, highlight the “Receiver Upgrade” item by pressing or

Automatic Download (Automatic upgrade)
Automatic Download can be enabled or disabled by pressing or button. If it is
enabled, then there are two ways for auto­matic upgrade. The first one is checking the
existence of a new software every time the IDTV goes to standby. The second one is waking up at 03:00 a.m. every night, pro­vided that the IDTV is left in standby mode. Both automatic upgrade methods result in
standby mode either upgraded or not. If the automatic upgrade is set to “Disabled”
then this function will not work.
Search For New Version (Manual upgrade)
Manual upgrade starts if the “Search for New Version” item is highlighted by using
or button and activated via pressing the
“SELECT” button. After “Search for New Version” isactivated,
the IDTV tunes to each frequency that have been stored in its database and looks for the new software.

Parental Settings
Some channels broadcast material which you do not want younger members of the family to watch. Any channel can be ‘locked’ so that it cannot be selected for viewing with­out first a four-digit PIN code being entered.
In this way any channel not suitable for younger viewers can be protected.
This function enables or disables the menu protection system and allows the PIN code to be changed.
Use or button to go to Parental Set­tings option. Press the “SELECT” button to enter Parental Settings Menu. A box asking for the lock key is displayed.

There is only one key which is set to “0000” initially. Enter lock key. If wrong Lock key is
entered, the following message is displayed on the screen and it is returned back.

There you can set/reset locking for the Main Menu, or the Installation Menu to restrict ac-
cess. If the menu lock is disabled, there will be free access to the menu system. Also in this menu you can change the lock key and set/change parental lock mode.
Disabled: All menusare unlocked. Main Menu: Main menu is accessible only
with the correct lock key. So the user cannot add, delete, rename, move channels, cannot
set timers. Installation: Installation menu is locked, so
the user cannot add channels. Changes will be updated after exiting Con-
figuration Menu.

You can set a timer to switch the TV to any channel without your intervention. This is
also for making video recordings of programmes when you are out.

When off is selected, there will be no differ­ence in the operation of your TV. Whenon is
selected, the TV can only be controlled by the remote control handset. In this case, the side panel buttons on the TV (except the On/ Off switch) will not work.

It is placed in the upper right side of the screen when enabled.
To cancel mute, there are two alternatives, the first one is pressing the “ ” button, thus
the volume is set to the preceding value, and the second one is increasing the volume level, thus it starts from minimum level to in-
crease.
AV Modes
By pressing the “AV” button, you can switch your TV to AV modes (except being in Tele-
text). Pressing this button consecutively will switch the TV in one of the optional AV modes: AV1, RGB1, AV2, SVHS, IDTV and
PC.
RGB1 mode is supported from AV1. In order to quit the AV mode press the “TV”,
thedigit buttonsor the “-P/CH” or “P/CH+”.
PC Mode
Press “PC” button to switch directly to PC mode.
Press “TV”, “AV”, “-P/CH”, “P/CH+” or digit buttons to quit the PC mode.

Teletext
Teletext is an information system that dis­plays text on your TV screen. Using the Tele­text information system you can view a page
of information on a subject that is available in thelist of contents (index).
On screen display is not available in text mode.
Contrast, brightness or colour control is not available, but volume control is available in text mode.
To Operate Teletext
• Select a TV station where Teletext is being
transmitted.
• Press the “ ” button. Usually the list of
contents (index) are displayed on the screen.

Subcode pages are subsections of long Teletext pages that can only be displayed on the screen one section at a time.

Your TV supports the Fastext Teletext sys­tem. When the page number of any of the pages in memory is entered, the system will not search for the requested page; instead it will display the page automatically.

• Pressthe “-P/CH” button tomove the Teletext screen backward one page at a time.
For Fastext
The subject-heading for the information may have a particular colour.
• Press an appropriate RED,GREEN,YELLOW or BLUEbutton in order to reachthe relevant
page quickly.
ConnectPeripheral Equipment
There is a wide range of audio and video equipmentthat can beconnectedto your TV.
The following connection diagrams show you where the different (Optional) equipment should be connected at the rear side of the
TV.
PC Sound Connection
Connect the audio output (line out) of your PC to the audio inputs of your TV (see I and
J on the next page) with a stereo sound cable.
Via The SCART
Your TV has one SCART socket. If you want to connect peripherals (e.g. video, decoder, etc.) which have SCART Sockets to the TV, use SCART input.
If an external device is connected via the SCARTsocket,the TV will be switched to AV
mode automatically. If the external device is connected to SCART input and the signal is RGB1, select RGB1 by pressing the “AV” button.
Via Aerial Input
If you wantto connect to your TV, peripherals like video recorders or decoders, but the de­vice you want to connect does not have a
SCART Socket, you should connect it to the Aerial inputof the TV.
If the VCR is connected via Aerial input it is suggested to use Programme 0.
Decoder
Cable TV offers you a wide choice of programme. Most of them are free, others are to be paid for by the viewer. This means
that you will need to subscribe to the broad­casting organisation whose programmes you wish to receive. This organisation will supply you a corresponding decoder unit to allow the programmes to be unscrambled.

Connect a decoder with an aerial socket to the TV
• Connect the aerial cable.
Connect a decoder without an aerial socket to the TV
• Connect the decoder to the TV witha SCART

TV And Video Recorder
• Connect the aerial cables. Better picture quality can be obtained if you
also connect a SCART Lead to SCART
socket.
Playback NTSC
To use this option you can;
• Connect an NTSC VCR player to SCART
Socket atthe rear side ofthe TV.
or,
• Connectan NTSCVCRplayer to RCAJacks
at the rear side ofthe TV.
Then, press the “AV” button to select proper source.
Search For And Store The Test Signal Of The Video Recorder
• Unplug the aerial cable from the aerial
socket “ANT”of your video recorder.
• Switch on your TV and put the videorecorder
on the test signal. (See the booklet for your video recorder.)
• Enter the Installation menu in settings
menu. Enter the Programming menu in In- stallation menu andselect manual search.
• Search for the test signal of your video re-
corder in the same wayas you searchedfor and stored the TV signals. Storethe test sig­nal under programme number 0.
– Replace the aerial cable in the aerial
socket “ANT” of your video recorder once you have stored the test signal.
Camera And Camcorder
To Connect To AV-2 Input
Connect your camera or camcorder to AV-2 input at the rear side of the TV.
• Connect yourequipment tothe TV via VIDEO
(yellow),AUDIO R (red) andAUDIO L (white) inputs.You must connect the jacksto the in­put using the same colour.
To Connect To S-VHS Input
Connect your camera or camcorder S-VHS input at the rear side of the TV.
• Connect yourequipmenttotheTVviaS-VHS input and audio inputs of AV-2 inputs by us-
ing S-VHScables.
Connect The Decoder To The Video Recorder
Some video recorders have a special SCARTSocket for decoder.
• Connect a SCART Lead to the SCART Socket of your decoder and to the special SCART Socket of yourvideorecorder.Refer to the booklet of yourvideorecorder.
• To connect your video recorder to theTV, re­fer to the TV andVideo Recorder section.
If you want to connect more equipments to yourTV, consult your dealer.
Connecting Headphones
Use the stereo headphone socket at the rear side of the TV to connect headphones.

Tips
Care Of The Screen
Clean the screen with a slightly damp, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive solvents as they
may damage the TV screen coating layer.
Poor Picture
Have you selected the correct TV system? Is your TV set or house aerial located too close
to the loudspeakers, non-earthed audio equipment or neon lights, etc.?
Mountains or high buildings can cause double pictures or ghost images. Some-
times you can improve the picture quality by changing the direction of the aerial.
Is the picture or Teletext unrecognisable? Check if you have entered the correct fre-
quency. The picture quality may degrade when two
peripherals are connected to the TV at the same time. In such a case, disconnect one
of the peripherals.
No Picture
Remote Control
Your TV no longer responds to the remote control. Press the “
mote control once more. Perhaps the batter­ies are exhausted. If so you can still use the localbuttonsat the top of theTV.

Sound is coming from only one of the speakers. Is the balance set to one direction
