8. Special Functions Teletext Operation
FLOF-text operation
With FLOF-text operation, you are guided by various colours
that appear in an Info line on the bottom of the screen. These
colours correspond to certain topics or pages. You can call
up these topics/pages by pressing the corresponding coloured button “(red, yellow, green or blue) on the remote
control.
Example:
Press the øbutton to call up the »Info« menu.
Press the numbered button

to call up the »Teletext« line
from the »Info« menu.
Teletext page 100 appears (=Teletext summary).
Press the corresponding coloured button “(red, yellow,
green or blue) to select the desired topic or page from the
Teletext summary.
The next topics/pages appear in the Info line.
Press the
$
button to return to the Teletext summary.
You can also call up the Teletext pages directly by pressing
the numbered buttons

Normal Teletext operation
Press the øbutton to call up the »Info« menu.
Press the numbered button

to select the »Teletext« line in
the »Info« menu.
The Teletext page 100 (= Teletext summary) appears.

Select the desired Teletext page from the Teletext summary
by entering the page number of the Teletext page as a three
digit number with the numbered buttons 1... 0.
The page appears after a short time.
Further functions of the coloured buttons
When viewing Teletext pages without TOP-Text or FLOF-Text
Information, the coloured buttons have other functions.
Press the
“
(red or green) button to "page" up or down
through the Teletext pages step by step.
If the TOP-Text or FLOF-Text-System is offered by a TV
station, the recorder automatically switches to this
system.
Multiple pages
Some page numbers may contain several subpages which
are automatically "skipped" by the broadcasting stations.
Subpages can be recognized by an insert below the time indication; 1/2 means, for example, that you are viewing the first
of two subpages.
If you wish to view a subpage for a prolonged period of time,
press the
⁄
button.
"Stop" appears in the upper left corner of the screen.
Pressing the
⁄
button once again cancels this function.
Enlarging the character size
Normal character size = basic setting.
Repeatedly pressing the &button selects:
double character size in the upper half of the page;
double character size in the bottom half of the page;
normal character size in the entire page.
Displaying concealed text
Certain Teletext pages may contain "hidden" information,
such as quiz answers or the VPS/PDC times for programming
the video recorder.
Press the
%
button to display the hidden information.
Press the
%
button once again to conceal the information.
TV broadcasts with subtitles
Some broadcasts are subtitled for the hearing impaired. The
page numbers (e.g. page 150) on which these subtitles are
displayed are either announced before such broadcasts or
can be found in the Teletext pages "Subtitles Preview."
At the beginning of such a broadcast, press the
ø
,button,
then the numbered button2, and enter the number of the
subtitle page with the numbered buttons 1... 0.
The subtitles of the selected TV programme are then visible
on the TV screen.
The
&
button allows you to enlarge the subtitles.
Turning on the volume
Press the
j
button to turn on the volume.The recording
level will also appear in the display of the recorder.
Pressing the jbutton again turns the volume back off.
Exiting the Teletext mode
Press the øbutton twice to return to the TV picture.
