VD Pipe Dam Bands

for Area-Velocity Sensors

Use optional VD stainless steel Pipe Dam
Bands downstream from an area-velocity
sensor installation to maintain low flow water
level at 1” (25.4 mm) or higher as required for
ultrasonic level measurement.

Each Pipe Band and Dam includes:

Band Adjustment Jack allowing ±0.5” (13 mm)
adjustment from the nominal band size.

ote

N : VD6 and VD8 bands do not include adjustment
jacks - they secure to pipe by spring tension.

Mounting Instructions:

Install the stainless steel pipe band with the dam at the
invert (bottom) of the pipe.

Locate the pipe band dam downstream from the intended
sensor mounting location.

Turn the ¼” hex nut clockwise (10”/250 mm band dams
and larger) to expand the bracket and secure to the pipe
wall by friction fit.
