m Safety information

Please read these instruction carefully. Keep the instructions in a safe place for reference or for the subsequent owner.

General notes

Check the appliance after unpacking it. Do not connect the appliance if it has been damaged during transport.
This appliance is intended for use in the private household and the home environment only. Use the appliance only for preparing food, not for heating rooms.
Adults and children must not operate the appliance without supervision, if they are physically or mentally incapable of doing so, or if they lack the knowledge and experience required to operate the appliance correctly and safely. Do not let children play with the appliance or the packaging material.
This appliance is not intended for operation with an external timer or an external remote control.
Fire risk! Over-greased filters are a fire risk! Never
deep fry or grill next to the appliance without supervision. Pay attention to regular grease filter cleaning.
Mortal danger, risk of intoxication! Due to
combustion gases sucked back in. Never operate the appliance in the exhaust air mode at the same time as a room air-dependent heat-producing appliance unless an adequate supply of fresh air is ensured.
Room air-dependent heat-producing appliances (e.g. gas, oil, wood or coal-operated heaters, continuous flow heaters or water heaters, hobs and ovens) obtain combustion air from the room in which they are installed and discharge the exhaust gases into the open through an exhaust gas system (e.g. a chimney).
The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage which arises as a result of disregarding the instruction manual.

Safety during operation

Risk of burns! Due to a hot appliance when using it
with cooking appliances. Keep children away and pay attention to correct use.
Risk of injury and risk of damage! Due to items
placed on the appliance. Never place items on the appliance.
Fire risk! An air baffle (LS 041 000) must be used if
the hob ventilators VL 040/041 are operated next to a gas appliance. In this way, the flame cannot be drawn into the ventilator. This avoids ignition of a filter impregnated with grease by the gas flame.
risk of fire! Flames can be sucked into the ventilation.
Never flambé meals next to a hob ventilator that is in operation.
Risk of fire, risk of burns! Due to gas cookers
without pots and pans placed on them. Always use gas cookers with suitable pots and pans. Regulate the flame so that it does not lash beyond pots and pans.
In combination with an activated vapour extractor hood, room air is extracted from the kitchen and neighbouring rooms - a partial vacuum is produced if not enough fresh air is supplied. Toxic gases from the chimney or the extraction shaft are sucked back into the living space.
Adequate incoming air must therefore always be
ensured.
An incoming/exhaust air wall box alone will not
ensure compliance with the limit.
Safe operation is possible only whenever the partial vacuum in the place where the hearth is installed does not exceed 4 Pa (0.04 mbar). This can be achieved whenever the air needed for combustion is able to enter through openings that cannot be sealed, for example in doors, windows, incoming/exhaust air wall boxes or by other technical means.
Risk of injury! Never extract dangerous or explosive
substances or vapours.
Risk of short circuit! The cable insulation of
electrical appliances can melt. Under no cirumstances place the mains cable on the burners when they are still hot.
4
In any case, consult your responsible chimney sweep. He is able to assess the house's entire ventilation setup and will suggest the suitable ventilation measures to you.
Unrestricted operation is possible if the vapour extractor hood is operated exclusively in the recirculation mode.
Risk of fire! Risk of fire from flying sparks. Install the
unit above a hearth for solid fuels (e.g. wood or coal) only is there is a closed, non-detachable cover.

Safety during cleaning

Risk of burns! The appliance becomes hot during
operation. Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.

Safety during maintenance and repairs

Risk of injury! In the event of a malfunction or if the
appliance is damaged, unscrew the fuses (or switch off the circuit breakers). Contact the after-sales service.
Risk of injury! Considerable injuries may be caused
by faulty repairs. Repairs to the appliance must only be carried out by a trained technician. If a repair is required, please call the after-sales service.
Risk of injury! A damaged electricity cable must be
replaced as soon as possible by the manufacturer, sales subsidiary, after-sales service or a trained technician.
Risk of electric shock! Do not use high pressure
washers or steam cleaners to clean the appliance.
Caution! Damage to the appliance: Do not pull off the
control knobs to clean them.

Exhaust air operation
The air sucked in is cleaned by the grease filters and is routed outdoors through a pipe system.
The exhaust air must not be routed into a chimney
or a shaft that simultaneously serves to extract air from rooms containing heat-producing appliances.
The local chimney sweep's consent must be
obtained if the exhaust air is to be routed to a smoke or exhaust gas chimney that is not in operation.
A telescopic wall duct should be used if the
exhaust air is routed through the outside wall.

m Consejos y advertencias de
seguridad

Debido a
