Read these instructions carefully. Only then will
you be able to operate your appliance safely and
correctly. Retain the instruction manual and
installation instructions for future use or for
subsequent owners.
This appliance must be installed according to
the installation instructions included.
Check the appliance for damage after
unpacking it. Do not connect the appliance if it
has been damaged in transport.
Only a licensed professional may connect
appliances without plugs. Damage caused by
incorrect connection is not covered under
warranty.
This appliance is intended for domestic use
only. The appliance must only be used for the
preparation of food and drink. The appliance
must be supervised during operation. Only use
this appliance indoors.
This appliance is intended for use up to a
maximum height of 2000 metres above sea level.
This appliance is not intended for operation with
an external clock timer or a remote control.
This appliance may be used by children over the
age of 8 years old and by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or by
persons with a lack of experience or knowledge
if they are supervised or are instructed by a
person responsible for their safety how to use
the appliance safely and have understood the
associated hazards.
Children must not play with, on, or around the
appliance. Children must not clean the
appliance or carry out general maintenance
unless they are at least 8 years old and are
being supervised.
Keep children below the age of 8 years old at a
safe distance from the appliance and power
cable.
Risk of fire!
The appliance becomes very hot and flammable
materials could catch fire. Never store or use
flammable objects (e.g. spray cans, cleaning
agents) under the appliance or in its immediate
vicinity. Never place flammable items on or in the
appliance.
Risk of burns!
▯The accessible parts become very hot when
in operation. Never touch hot parts. Keep
children at a safe distance.

▯The cooking insert becomes very hot.
Always use the handle provided to lift the
cooking insert. Make sure the handle is
properly engaged in the cooking insert. Do
not turn over the cooking insert by the
handle to empty the contents.

▯When the appliance cover is closed, heat
will accumulate. Only close the appliance
cover when the appliance has cooled down.
Never switch the appliance on with the
appliance cover closed. Do not rest food on
the appliance cover or use it to keep food
warm.
Risk of electric shock!
▯Incorrect repairs are dangerous. Repairs
may only be carried out by one of our trained
after-sales engineers. If the appliance is
faulty, unplug the mains plug or switch off
the fuse in the fuse box. Contact the aftersales service.
Risk of electric shock and serious injury!
▯The cable insulation on electrical appliances
may melt when touching hot parts of the
appliance. Never bring electrical appliance
cables into contact with hot parts of the
appliance.
Risk of electric shock!
▯Do not use any high-pressure cleaners or
steam cleaners, which can result in an
electric shock.
Risk of electric shock!
▯A defective appliance may cause electric
shock. Never switch on a defective
appliance. Unplug the appliance from the
mains or switch off the circuit breaker in the
fuse box. Contact the after-sales service.
Risk of injury!
The glass lid may crack as a result of not being
handled correctly. Never consume food that has
been contaminated by glass splinters. If the
glass lid is damaged, replace it immediately.

Causes of damage
Caution!
–Overheating protection switches off the appliance:
Do not switch on the appliance when it is empty. Fill
the cooking basin with cold water or cooking liquid
at least up to the minimum mark or, as a maximum,
up to the ridge edge. Do not leave the cooking
basin to cook with nothing in it. Never heat oil in the
cooking basin.
–Damage to the glass lid: Never set the hot glass lid
on a cold worktop or cool it under cold running
water. The glass lid may crack.
Handle the glass lid with care and do not subject it
to any shocks. Mechanical load may lead to tension
in the glass. When it is subsequently heated, the
glass lid may crack.
If the glass lid is damaged, replace it immediately. If
the glass lid is damaged and glass splinters get into
the cooking basin, the food that is being prepared
there is no longer fit for consumption.
–Appliance damage caused by unsuitable
accessories: Only use the original accessories that
are supplied.
–Corrosion caused by salt or spices: Only add salt
and stock cubes to hot water. The cooking basin is
largely corrosion-resistant. However, in certain
cases, salt may corrode the material, for example.
Environmental protection
Your new appliance is particularly energy-efficient. Here
you can find tips on how to save even more energy when
using the appliance, and how to dispose of your
appliance properly.
Saving energy
▯Only heat the steamer until it has reached the
required temperature.
▯Always put the glass lid on where possible. A well-
fitting lid prevents steam and energy losses.
▯Take advantage of the option to use two cooking
inserts at the same time to cook food.
Environmentally-friendly disposal
Dispose of packaging in an environmentally-friendly
manner.
This appliance is labelled in accordance with
European Directive 2012/19/EU concerning
used electrical and electronic appliances
(waste electrical and electronic equipment WEEE). The guideline determines the
framework for the return and recycling of used
appliances as applicable throughout the EU.

Operation
Hooking the handle into the cooking
inserts
Before first use
Please observe the following notes before steaming
for the first time:
1Thoroughly clean the appliance and accessories.
2The appliance must be calibrated before first-time
operation.
3Fill the cooking basin up to the minimum level
marker with cold water. Fit the glass cover.
4Press down the temperature control knob, turn it to
¥ and steam for 30 minutes. The appliance will
now calibrate the boiling point.
5Drain the water after calibration and carefully dry
the cooking basin.
Notes
‒Failure to adjust the boiling point before steaming
may result in malfunctions. The steamer might
produce too much or too little steam.
‒During calibration more steam might escape from
the steamer than during normal use.
‒Do not interrupt the calibration process, do not
open the glass cover. The appliance should operate
on the steaming setting for 30 minutes.
m Risk of burns!
The cooking insert becomes very hot. Always use the
handle provided to lift the cooking insert. Make sure the
handle is properly engaged in the cooking insert. Do not
turn over the cooking insert by the handle to empty the
contents.
1Slide the handle into the opening on the cooking
insert.
2Tilt back the handle. Lift the cooking insert by the
handle.
Switching on
Boiling point detection
The boiling point depends on the air pressure. The
higher the altitude, the lower the air pressure, and also
the boiling point.
When operating for the first time, the appliance
calibrates itself automatically to the correct setting.
Should you move to a different area, the appliance has
to be re-calibrated. During calibration, the appliance is
adjusted to the pressure of the altitude where the
appliance is installed.
Calibrating the boiling point
1Fill the cooking basin up to the minimum level
marker with cold water. Fit the glass cover.
2Set the temperature to 95°C.
3Carry out the following operation within
5 seconds: turn the temperature control knob to
and fro twice between the position ¥ and 95°C.
Then turn the control knob to ¥ .
The appliance now calibrates the boiling point
automatically. This will take about 10 minutes. Do not
take off the glass clid during the calibration process.
Note: During calibration more steam might escape from
the steamer than during normal use.
Fill the cooking basin with cold water or another
cooking liquid (between 1 - 4 litres, refer to the settings
table). Do not fill the cooking basin with oil. Fill the
cooking basin with liquid at a minimum to the lower
marking and not more than to the boil-over rim.
Press down the temperature control knob and turn it to
the required temperature. You can set the temperature
between 45 and 95°C. Select the steaming setting ¥
for steam cooking.

When the temperature is reached, the luminous disc
lights constantly.
Note: Always fit the glass cover during operation. Make
sure the steam outlet opening is kept free.

Switching off
Draining the cooking liquid
Turn the temperature control knob to 0.
m Risk of burns!
When the appliance cover is closed, heat will
accumulate. Only close the appliance cover when the
appliance has cooled down. Never switch the appliance
on with the appliance cover closed. Do not rest food on
the appliance cover or use it to keep food warm.
Overheating protection
To protect the appliance and the furniture, the steamer
switches the heating element off automatically when
overheated. The luminous disc behind the temperature
control knob flashes. Switch off the appliance and wait
until it has cooled down.
Possible causes for overheating:
▯appliance was switched on empty (without any
liquid in the cooking basin)
▯the cooking basin was filled with very hot water
▯appliance was boiled empty or the liquid in the
cooking basin has dropped below the minimum
level
▯appliance was operated for a long time on the
steaming setting without the glass cover in place
▯limescale built-up in the cooking basin
Safety shut-off
For your protection the appliance features safety shutoff. Every heating operation is switched off after four
hours if the appliance is not operated during this time. If
the temperature setting is below 70°C the heating
operation is switched off after eight hours.

Risk of scalding!
The cooking liquid becomes very hot. When draining the
cooking liquid without a permanent drain connection:
Allow the appliance to cool down first. To collect the
cooking liquid, place a suitable receptacle with an
adequate capacity under the drain tap.
Note: Install the drain installation set AG 060 000 if
there is no fixed drainage connection present. Place a
suitable, heat resistant receptacle (min. 10 l) under the
drain tap.
Opening the drain valve
1Press down both control knobs and turn them to the
right to the position
2A signal is sounded. The drain valve is opened after
a few seconds. The luminous disc behind the left
control knob flashes while the drain valve is open.
Closing the drain valve
1Leave the temperature control knob on the position
¤ .
¤ . Turn the left control knob to the left to the
position Á .
2A signal is sounded. The drain valve is closed after
a few seconds. The luminous disc behind the left
control knob goes off.
Even after a power cut, the heating element stays
switched off. The luminous disc behind the temperature
control knob flashes.
Turn the temperature control knob to 0. Then you can
operate the appliance again normally.
Notes
‒The luminous disc behind the left control knob
flashes while the drain valve is open or not
completely closed. The appliance does not heat up.
‒Always place the residue strainer on the drain to
avoid food residues blocking the drain valve.

Notes
‒Always preheat the appliance.
‒If possible, always place the glass cover on the
steamer to prevent steam and energy being lost.
‒The values given must be looked upon as a
guideline. The cooking time required depends on
the condition and temperature of the food as well as
the weight and thickness.
Steaming
▯Fill the cooking basin with 1 litre of water. Preheat
the appliance on the steaming setting.
▯Put the cooking insert with the food in the cooking
basin and fit the glass cover.
▯When you use the perforated cooking insert, the
steam is able to reach the food on all sides. This
ensures uniform cooking even of large quantities of
food. Using the unperforated cooking insert avoids
the soiling of the cooking basin and is also used for
soaking food.
▯You can put two cooking inserts in the cooking
basin simultaneously. Insert the perforated insert
under the unperforated insert.
‒Make sure the residue strainer is placed on the
drain if adding herbs, spices or vegetables to the
cooking liquid. Remove residues before draining.
‒Thoroughly clean the cooking basin if it had been
filled with salt, bouillon or stock. Remainders of
these substances might cause corrosion.
▯Depending on the cooking time you can put both
cooking inserts in the cooking basin at the same
time or after each other.
▯Add approx. 10 minutes to the cooking time when
using two cooking inserts simultaneously.
▯The steam seals the food that is being cooked and
prevents a loss of nutrients in the foodstuffs.
Steamed food retains its vitamins, minerals and its
shape, its colour and its typical aroma. Therefore
season the food after steaming.
▯You can season the water with herbs, spices or
wine to enhance the flavour.
Cooking
▯Fill the cooking basin with 4 litres of water. Preheat
the appliance on the steaming setting.
▯Use the pasta basket (special accessory: FK 023
000) to prepare pasta.
Simmering
▯Fill the cooking basin with 4 litres of cooking liquid.
Set the temperature between 75 and 95°C.
▯You can use vegetable, fish or meat stock instead of
water as cooking liquid. Enhance the taste of the
cooking liquid by adding herbs, spices or wine.
▯Always fit the glass cover.
▯Always fit the glass cover.
▯You can season or salt the water. Thoroughly clean
the cooking basin afterwards. Salt residue might
cause corrosion.

Blanching
Blanching in steam (vegetables):
▯Fill the cooking basin with 1 litre of water. Preheat
the appliance on the steaming setting.
▯Put the perforated cooking insert with the
vegetables in the cooking basin and fit the glass
cover. Do not use more than 500 g of vegetables at
a time.
▯Steam for 4 - 5 minutes, then immediately dip the
vegetables in ice water.
Regenerating (reheating)
▯Fill the cooking basin with 1 litre of water. Preheat
the appliance on the steaming setting.
▯Put the unperforated cooking insert with the
prepared dish in the cooking basin and switch back
to 95°C.

▯Put the vegetables or the meat in the water and let it
boil up.

Keeping warm
▯Fill the cooking basin with 1 litre of water. Preheat
the appliance on the steaming setting.
▯Put the unperforated cooking insert with the hot
meal in the cooking basin, switch back to 80 - 85°C
and fit the glass cover.
▯When steaming with two cooking inserts, insert the
perforated insert under the unperforated insert.
▯Always fit the glass cover.
Extracting juice (soft fruit)
▯Fill the cooking basin with 1 litre of water. Preheat
the appliance on the steaming setting.
▯Put the unperforated cooking insert in the cooking
basin and then the perforated cooking insert
containing the fruit on top. Fit the glass cover.
▯Leave the fruit in the steamer until all the juice has
come out (approx. 120 minutes).
▯You can put the fruit through a linen cloth
afterwards to squeeze out the last remaining juice.

Preserving
▯Fill the cooking basin with 1 litre of water. Preheat
the appliance on the steaming setting.
▯Cook the fruit or vegetables immediately after
buying or picking. A prolonged storage will reduce
the vitamins and might lead to fermenting.
▯Only use good quality fruit and vegetables.
▯Meat is unsuitable for preserving in the steamer.
▯Check and clean the preserving jars, rubber seals
and clamps.

Preparing yoghourt
▯Heat up pasteurized milk to 90°C on the cooktop to
avoid disturbing the yoghourt cultures. Important!
Allow the milk to cool to 40°C in a water bath to
avoid destroying the yoghourt cultures.
▯Long-life milk (UHT milk) does not need heating.
▯Stir natural yoghourt with declared yoghourt
cultures into the milk (1 - 2 teaspoons of yoghourt
for every 100 ml). Thoroughly whisk in the yoghourt
with an eggbeater.
▯In the case of yoghourt ferment, pay attention to the
notes on the packaging.
▯Pour the yoghourt into rinsed jars. Close with lid.
▯Note: you can disinfect the rinsed jars in your
steamer at the steaming level for 20 minutes before
pouring in the yoghourt. Make sure you allow the
jars to cool down before you pour the yoghourt in.
▯Disinfect the clean jars in the steamer before using
them for preserving (see chapter "Disinfecting").
▯Place the jars in the perforated cooking insert. The
jars should be placed well apart from each other.
▯Open the glass cover after the cooking time has
elapsed. Leave the jars to cool down completely
before taking them out.
Remarks

▯Fill the cooking basin with 1 litre of water. Place the
perforated cooking insert in the appliance and
close the glass cover. Preheat the appliance for at
least 5 minutes at 55°C. Place the jars in the
appliance and immediately close the glass cover
again.
▯Leave the yoghourt to mature for 6 - 8 hours at
55°C. The appliance will switch off automatically
after 8 hours (safety shut-off). Turn the control knob
to 0. Then you can operate the appliance again
normally.
▯After preparing it, place the yoghourt in the fridge.
▯Tip: add jam or tinned fruit to the milk or to the
bottom of the glass jars or mix in instant coffee or
choccolate powder with the milk.
Raising dough
▯Fill the cooking basin with 1 litre of water. Preheat
the appliance at 45°C.
▯Put the unperforated cooking insert with the dough
/ batter in the cooking basin.
▯If you put the dough / batter in a bowl, basket or
baking form, place the container in the perforated
cooking insert. Chose the right size of the
container so that it is possible to fit the glass cover.
▯Always fit the glass cover.
▯Let the dough / batter rise at 45°C until it has
doubled in size (approx. 30 min.).

Disinfecting
▯Fill the cooking basin with 1 litre of water. Preheat
the appliance on the steaming setting.
▯Put the perforated cooking insert with the objects
to be disinfected (e.g. jam jars, preserving jars,
joghurt jars, baby bottles) in the cooking basin and
fit the glass cover.
▯Thoroughly rinse the objects before steaming.
▯Steam for 20 minutes.
▯When steaming with two cooking inserts, insert the
perforated insert under the unperforated insert.
Add approx. 10 minutes to the cooking time.
Vegetables
▯Season the vegetables sparingly after steaming.
Steamed vegetables retain more of their natural
flavour than cooked vegetables.

Fish
▯You can steam fish fillets or whole fish or cook them
in stock. Cooking in stock will take about 2 - 5
minutes longer than steaming, depending on the
amount and temperature of the stock.
▯Fillets with skin: place the fish with the skin to the
top, this preserves the texture and aroma.
▯You can season the stock with wine, fish stock,
vegetables, herbs and spices.
▯Use the unperforated cooking insert for steaming.
You can butter it lightly to keep the fish from
sticking to it.
▯Salt the fish sparingly after steaming. This will avoid
the fish becoming too dry.

Care and cleaning
In this chapter you will find tips on how to maintain and
clean your appliance correctly.
m Risk of electric shock!
Do not use any high-pressure cleaners or steam
cleaners, which can result in an electric shock.
m Risk of burns!
The accessible parts become very hot when in
operation. Never touch hot parts. Keep children at a
safe distance.
Cleaning the appliance
▯Drain the cooking basin after every use and clean
with soapy water and a soft brush. Do not apply
any stainless steel care products on the cooking
basin as these are usually not food safe.
▯Soiling, salt and limescale deposits can cause
corrosion.
▯Clean the cooking inserts and the residue strainer
in a dishwasher or with soapy water. Only clean the
handle by hand.
▯Thoroughly dry the cooking basin with a cloth. Do
not fit the glass cover while the cooking basin is
still moist.
▯Polish the cooking basin with a soft cloth and a
drop of cooking oil.
After cleaning and drying, you can store the cleaned
cooking inserts and the handle in the cooking basin.
Turn over the glass cover to make sure that the
appliance cover (special accessory) will lie properly on
the appliance.
Descaling the cooking basin
You should descale the cooking basin if a white coating
appears due to hard water. Build up of limescale can
lead to disfunction of the appliance.
You can order a suitable descaler online (order number
00311138). Prepare a descaling solution by mixing
40 ml descaler with 200 ml warm water. If you need to
prepare a different quantity of descaling solution mix
1 part descaler with 5 parts of water.
Close the drain valve and pour the descaling solution
into the cooking basin. Remove the limescale using a
soft brush. Drain the descaling solution and thouroughly
rinse the cooking basin with cold water. Avoid skin
contact with the descaling solution. Observe the
instructions on the packaging.
Note: the descaling solution is also suitable to remove
residues from starchy foods (e.g. rice) from the cooking
inserts.

▯Thoroughly wash out new sponge cloths before
using them.
Note: after a few hours of operation, the contours of the

El cristal protector puede estallar si se manipula
de forma inadecuada. Nunca consumir
alimentos en los que hayan caído fragmentos de
cristal.Sustituir de inmediato el cristal protector
si está defectuoso.
Causas de daños
¡Atención!
–La protección contra el sobrecalentamiento apaga
el aparato: No encender el aparato estando vacío.
Llenar de agua fría o líquido de cocina el recipiente
de cocción, al menos hasta la marca mínima y sin
sobrepasar el borde de rebose. No poner a cocer el
recipiente de cocción si está vacío. Nunca calentar
aceite en el recipiente de cocción.
–Daños en el cristal protector: Nunca colocar el
cristal protector caliente sobre una encimera
mojada y fría ni enfriarlo con agua corriente fría.El
cristal protector puede estallar.
Manipular el cristal protector con cuidado para que
no se lleve golpes.La carga mecánica puede
generar tensión en el cristal. Al calentarse
posteriormente, el cristal protector puede estallar.
Sustituir de inmediato el cristal protector si está
defectuoso. Si han caído fragmentos de cristal en
el recipiente de cocción debido a la rotura del
cristal protector, los alimentos preparados en el
recipiente dejan de ser aptos para su consumo.
–Daños en el aparato debido a accesorios
inadecuados: Utilizar solo los accesorios originales
previstos.
–Corrosión por sal o especias: Añadir sal y especias
solamente en agua caliente. El recipiente de
cocción es en buena parte resistente a la corrosión.
No obstante, en determinados casos es posible
que, por ejemplo, la sal corroa el material.

Su nuevo aparato presenta una gran eficiencia
energética. Aquí se ofrecen consejos sobre cómo
manejar el aparato ahorrando más energía y cómo
desecharlo correctamente.
Ahorro de energía
▯Calentar el aparato de cocción al vapor solo hasta
alcanzar la temperatura deseada.
▯Colocar el cristal protector siempre que sea
posible. Con la tapa bien cerrada se evitan
pérdidas de vapor y de energía.
▯Aprovechar la posibilidad de cocer distintos
alimentos a la vez con dos elementos para cocinar.

Eliminar el embalaje de forma ecológica.
