A5 Camera button: Switch between the
infrared camera and the digital cam­era.
A6 Joystick: Move up/down or left/right
to navigate on menus, in dialog boxes, and in the image archive. Push to confirm choices.
A7 A/M button: Push to switch between
automatic and manual adjustment modes. Push and hold down for more than 1 second to perform a non-uniformity correction.
A8 Measure button: Push to dis-
play/hide measurement tools.
A9 Info button: Push to display/hide
image information on the screen.
A10 Setup button: Push to display/hide
the setup menu.
A11 Archive button: Push to open/close
the image gallery.
A12 Mode button: Push to display/hide
the mode selector.
A13 On/Off button: Push to turn on/turn
off the camera.

B1 Laser pointer button: Push to acti-
vate the laser pointer.
B2 Preview/Save button: Push and hold
down the Preview/Save button for more than 1 second to save an image. Push briefly to preview an image and link additional anno­tations to the image.
B3 Focus button: Move left/right to
manually focus the camera. Push to autofocus the camera.
B4 Attachment point for the neck strap. B5 Video lamp. B6 Digital camera lens. B7 Release button for additional infra-

Connectors
C1 To connect a headset to the camera
to record and listen to voice anno­tations, use a headset cable and this socket.
C2 To connect a video monitor to the
camera, use a CVBS (composite video) cable and this socket.
C3 To connect a computer to the cam-
era to move images and files to and from the camera, use a USB Mini-B cable and this socket.
C4 To connect an external USB device
to the camera, use a USB-A cable and this socket.
Procedures
Changing the language: To change the
language, do the following:
1. Push the Setup button (A10).
2. Move the joystick (A6) right to go to the Regional tab.
3. Move the joystick (A6) down to select Language.
4. Push the joystick (A6), then move the
joystick up/down to select your language.
5. Push the joystick (A6) to confirm your choice.
6. Push the Setup button (A10) to leave the set-up mode.
Choosing palette and temperature range: To change the color palette and
the object temperature range, push the Setup button (A10) and use the joystick.
Focusing the camera: To focus manu­ally, move the Focus button (B3) left/right. To autofocus the camera, push and re­lease the center of the Focus button (B3).
Auto-adjusting the image:
• To manually adjust the image, push the A/M button (A7) to display M in the top right corner of the screen, then use the joystick.
• To automatically adjust the image, push the A/M button (A7) to display A.
Choosing mode: Push the Mode button (A12) to choose between various modes of operation:
Camera mode:This is the most com­monly used operation mode of the camera. You select this mode to save an infrared image to the SD memory card. If you push the Preview/Save button, the documentation toolbar will be displayed.
Video mode: If you select this mode, you can record video clips with the camera. You start and stop the re­cording by pushing the Preview/Save button.
Simultaneous mode: If you select this mode, and push and hold down the Preview/Save button (B2) for more than 1 second, the camera will auto­matically save a digital photo at the same time as it saves the infrared image.
Program mode: If you select this mode, you can periodically save im­ages at a specified time interval.
Panorama mode: If you select this mode, you can create large images by stitching normal images together.

To save an image: Push and hold down the Preview/Save button (B2) for more than 1 second to save an image. Push briefly to preview an image and link additional annotations to the image.
To keep in mind:
• When closing a menu, use the same button that you used to open it.
• Blank objects may appear as warm or cold in the camera due to reflections of other objects.
• Avoid direct sunlight on the details that you are inspecting.
• Various types of faults, such as those in a building’s construction, may result in the same type of infrared images.
• Correctly analyzing an infrared image requires professional knowledge about the application.
