This supplement illustrates the main features of the Fiat Panda Adventure, in addition to providing some advice for use.
For anything not dealt with, refer to the
Owner Handbook in which this Supplement is enclosed.
TRANSMISSION
FIAT PANDA ADVENTURE
Fiat Panda Adventure is equipped
with a 4 x 4 transmission system
comprising two differentials and an
electronically controlled joint
Thanks to this system, the insertion
of the four wheel drive takes place
automatically (i.e. without requiring
any action by the driver) and allows
for optimal distribution of drive
torque between front and rear axis,
in conditions of low adherence.
Fiat Panda Adventure runs easily
over snow, ice, mud and unmade
roads, even where slopes are fairly
steep.
This version is available in the following
versions:
2-seater version

ABS SYSTEM
The ABS system with this version is supplied as standard, and consists of:
❒
EBD (Electronic Braking force Distribution), which distributes the braking action between front and rear wheels;
❒
MSR (Motor Schleppmomenten
Regelung - Regulation of engine braking
torque), that intervenes in the event of
sudden changes of gear whilst driving
(avoiding wheel blockage when decelerating, upon releasing the accelerator),
giving torque back to the engine, thereby avoiding excessive drag of the driving wheels that, particularly in poor
grip conditions, can lead to a loss of vehicle stability.
REPLACING A WHEEL
General instructions
The vehicle is originally supplied with a
spare wheel of the same size as those fitted (space-saver spare wheel for versions/markets, where provided).
Wheel changing and correct use of the jack
and spare wheel (space-saver spare wheel
for versions/markets, where provided) call
for some precautions reported in the Use
and Maintenance manual to which this supplement is attached.
To change a wheel proceed as follows:
❒
stop the car in a position so that it is
not a danger for on-coming traffic and
where you can replace the wheel safely. The ground must be flat and compact;
❒
Turn the engine off and pull up the
handbrake.
❒
Engage first gear or reverse;

❒
take the tool bag fig. 3 positioned under the driver’s seat (4-seater version)
or between the dividing wall and passenger seat fig. 4 (2-seater version, accessible from the right rear door) and
take it next to the wheel to be changed;
❒
loosen the fastening device B-fig. 5;
❒
take the spare wheel (space-saver

❒
turn the jack crank to open it partially;
❒
position the jack close to the wheel to
be changed, at the sign O reported on
the longeron fig. 6;
❒
ensure that the groove F of the jack is
well fitted onto the tab G of the
longeron;

❒
warn anybody nearby that the car is
about to be lifted. They must stay clear
and not touch the car until it is back
on the ground;
❒
fit the handle H-fig. 6into the jack device I and lift the car until the wheel to
be changed is several centimetres off
the ground; Turn the crank, take care
that rotation takes place freely, with no
risk of grazing hands due to friction
with the ground. The moving parts of
the jack (screws and joints) can also
cause injury: do not touch them. If you
come into contact with lubricating
grease, clean yourself thoroughly;
❒
remove the hub cab, fully unscrew the
bolts L-fig. 7 and remove the wheel;

❒
turn the jack handle to lower the car
and remove the jack;
❒
fully tighten the bolts, passing alternatively from a bolt to the opposite one,
following the order shown in fig. 9.
When you have finished
❒
replace the partially open jack and
equipment used in the tool bag;
❒
re-organise the tool bag, complete
with tools, replacing it in its original
position.
WARNING The spare wheel must be
placed in the boot, under the carpet, as
shown in fig. 10.
WARNING Do not use inner tubes with
Tubeless tyres. Check pressure of tyres
and spare wheel on a regular basis.

❒
ensure that the spare wheel (spacesaver spare wheel for versions/
markets, where provided) support
surfaces are clean and free of impurities that could later cause the bolts
to loosen;
❒
mount the spare wheel (space-saver
spare wheel for versions/markets,
where provided), ensuring that the
pins N-fig. 8 are aligned with one of
the holes O on the wheel;
❒
screw the 4 fixing bolts;

WASHING THE CAR
TOWING THE CAR
TOWING TRAILERS
After using the vehicle off-road (with significant contact of wheels, bodywork, below-engine covers and underbody protection), please remember that you should
always wash it, cleaning the radiators carefully (engine cooling and conditioner), the
radiator fan, the wheels (rims and wheelhouses), the protection covers below the
engine and underbody. This will help preserve correct radiator operation in addition to ensuring good ventilation of the
brake discs and perfect balance of the
wheels. It will also guarantee that the
transmission shaft functions correctly.
FIAT PANDA ADVENTURE
The vehicle can only be towed in one of
the following ways (and always with the
engine off, gear set to neutral and hand
brake off):
- with the 4 wheels on the road base;
- with the front wheels raised or resting
on an emergency vehicle and the rear
wheels resting on a specific trolley;
- with the rear wheels raised or resting on
an emergency vehicle and the front wheels
resting on a specific trolley;
- loaded on the platform of the emergency
means, with all 4 wheels on the platform.
WARNING In the event of prolonged vehicle use at maximum tow capacity on
slopes, please replace engine oil more frequently (every 10,000 km).
With regards to the warnings and provisions for the installation of the tow hook,
please see that specified in the attached
Use and Maintenance manual.
The following is merely the description of
assembly with the new hook fixing points.
8
Page 9
ASSEMBLY DIAGRAM fig. 11
The tow hook structure must be fastened
in the points shown by the symbol Ø with
a total of 4 M8 screws, 2 M12 screws. The
internal plates 1 must be 6 mm thick. The
hook should be fastened to the body
avoiding any type of drilling and trimming
of the rear bumpers that remains visible
when the hook is removed.
IMPORTANT It is compulsory to fasten a
label (plainly visible) of suitable size and
material with the following wording: MAX
LOAD ON BALL 60 kg
After fitting, screw holes shall be sealed to
prevent exhaust gas inlet.

SNOW CHAINS
Use of snow chains should be in compliance with local regulations.
Chains can be fitted on 165/70 R14 81T
M+S tyres. For tyres to which chains can
be fitted, only use compact chains (maximum extension beyond tyre profile 9 mm).
TRANSMISSION
Use of Lineaccessori Fiat snow chains is
recommended.
Check the tension of the chains after the
first few metres have been driven.
The snow chains may be applied only onto the front
wheel tyres.
WARNING
Keep your speed down when
snow chains are fitted. Do
not exceed 50 km/h. Avoid potholes,
steps and pavements and also avoid
driving long distances on roads not
covered with snow in order to prevent
damaging the car and the roadbed.

FUEL
CONSUMPTION
The fuel consumption figures given in the
table below are determined on the basis
of the homologation tests laid down by
specific European Directives.
The procedures below are followed for
measuring consumption:
❒
urban cycle: cold starting followed by
driving that simulates urban use of the
car;
❒
extra urban cycle: driving simulating
the use of the vehicle in a non-urban
situation with frequent acceleration in
all gears; the speed varies between 0
and 120 km/h;
❒
combined consumption: calculated
weighing about 37% of urban cycle
consumption and about 63% of extra
urban consumption.
WARNING The type of route, traffic situations, weather conditions, driving style,
general conditions of the car, trim level/equipment/accessories, load, climate
control system, roof rack, other situations
that affect air drag may lead to different
fuel consumption levels than those measured.
WARNING To optimise fuel consumption, where the road is flat and the engine warm (after 3 or 4 minutes from
start-up), we recommend starting in second gear.
