IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using your canister vacuum, basic safety precautions should always be observed, including the following:
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or injury:
1. Do not leave vacuum cleaner unattended when it is plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use.
2. To reduce the risk of electric shock – do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces. Do not handle plug or vacuum cleaner with wet hands.
3. Do not allow children to use as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
4. Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
5. Do not use with damaged cord or plug. Do not use vacuum cleaner if it has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water. Return appliance to FANTOM for examination, repair or adjustment.
6. Do not pull or carry by cord. Do not use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
7. Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
8. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
9. Do not pick up hot coals, cigarette butts, matches or any hot, smoking, or burning objects.
10. Do not pick up hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.
11. Do not use without filters in place.
12. Turn off all controls before plugging or unplugging vacuum cleaner.
13. Use extra care when vacuuming on stairs.
14. Do not pick up flammable or combustible materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in the presence of explosive liquids or vapor.
15. Do not pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).
16. Do not use in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil based paints, paint thinner, moth proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
17. Always unplug this appliance before connecting or disconnecting vacuum hose. Always hold the plug when rewinding the power cord. Do not allow plug to whip when rewinding.
18. Use only on dry, indoor surfaces.
19. Do not use for any purpose other than described in this user’s guide.
20. Use only extension cords UL or cUL­rated at 15 amperes. Extension cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that the cord cannot be pulled or tripped over.
21. Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked. Keep free of dust, lint, hair and anything else that may reduce air flow.
22. Store your appliance indoors in a cool, dry area.
23. Keep your work area well lit.
24. Do not immerse the vacuum in water or other liquids.
25. Keep end of hose, wands and other openings away from your face and body.

FANTOM warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of the original purchase, when utilized for normal household use, subject to the following conditions, exclusions and exceptions.

If the appliance is found by FANTOM to be defective in material or workmanship, FANTOM will repair or replace it free of charge. Proof of purchase date and $ 19.95 to cover the cost of return shipping and handling must be included. *
Non-durable parts including, without limitation, filters, brushes and electrical parts which normally require replacement are specifically excluded from warranty.
The liability of FANTOM is limited solely to the cost of the repair or replacement of the unit at our option. This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts and does not apply to any unit that has been tampered with or used for commercial purposes. This limited warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, abuse, negligent handling or damage due to faulty packaging or mishandling in transit. This warranty does not cover damage or defects caused by or resulting from damages from shipping or repairs, service or alterations to the product or any of its parts, which have been performed by a repair person not authorized by FANTOM.
This warranty is extended to the original purchaser of the unit and excludes all other legal and/or conventional warranties. The responsibility of FANTOM if any, is limited to the specific obligations expressly assumed by it under the terms of the limited warranty. In no event is FANTOM liable for incidental or consequential damages of any nature whatsoever. Some states do not permit the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Be sure to include proof of purchase date and to attach tag to item before packing with your name, complete address and phone number with a note giving purchase information, model number and what you believe is the problem with item. PROBLEM SOLVING GETTING TO KNOW YOUR CANISTER VACUUM
This appliance was inspected thoroughly and was in good operating condition when it was shipped from the factory. If a minor problem occurs, it usually can be solved quite easily when the cause is found. Therefore, this checklist is provided for your convenience.

Please Note:
The HEPA Dust Cup Filter may be washed. We recommend that this be done once a month or when suction appears reduced. To wash your HEPA Dust Cup Filter, hold filter cartridge by frame flange and rinse under a tap until all observable dirt has been removed. Some discoloration of the HEPA filter material may occur, this is normal and will not affect the filter's performance. When finished, shake off excess water. Do NOT wash in dishwasher. It is important that when you wash the HEPA dust cup filter, you allow it to dry COMPLETELY before using it again. We recommend 24 hours to air dry. DO NOT DRY IN DRYER. We recommend replacing the HEPA filter every three (3) to six (6) months, depending on the amount of use to ensure peak performance of your vacuum.
IMPORTANT
: The Pre-Motor filter and Post Motor filter should be replaced every 6 months or sooner if required. It is important that when you wash the HEPA dust cup filter, pre-motor filter or the exhaust filter you allow them to dry COMPLETELY before using again. We recommend 24 hours to air dry. DO NOT DRY IN DRYER.
All filters should be checked regularly for signs of damage, preferable after each cleaning task. The filters must be replaced immediately if they become damaged. Always disconnect the vacuum from the electrical outlet when checking the filters.

PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Important: If the suction opening of the unit, the hose or the chrome telescopic tube
are BLOCKED substance before you start the unit again.
1. Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close to heaters or radiators.
2. Before inserting the power plug into the wall outlet, make sure that your hands are dry.
3. Before you start vacuuming, make sure to remove large or sharp objects that might damage the dust cup.

Changing & Cleaning the Post Motor Filter
The post motor filter is a washable filter but should be replaced every six (6) months depending on usage. Never operate the vacuum without ALL the filters in place.
• Push the Power On/Off button to the "Off" position and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
• The post motor filter is located on the rear of the vacuum. Remove the filter cover.
• Remove the filter grill and take out the filter.
• Rinse in lukewarm water, let air dry completely. Do not use a washing machine to rinse the filter. Do not use a hair dryer to dry it. Air dry only for 24 hours.
• When filter is completely dry, replace post motor filter back into the filter grill and replace back into the unit.

7. Vigorously “TapClean” the HEPA Dust Cup Filter on a hard surface until no more dust is observed falling out from between the pleats of the filter. See illustration at right.
PLEASE NOTE
: The white pleated filter material in the HEPA Dust Cup Filter will discolor over time -This is NORMAL and will NOT affect the performance of the filter. If the HEPA Dust Cup Filter is properly "TapCleaned” after each use and suction does not return to 100%, then

open, free of any obstructions at all times. Otherwise, the motor will overheat and could become damaged.
8. Reassemble the debris screen back onto the HEPA filter cartridge.
9. To replace the HEPA filter back into the dust cup container, hold the filter by the stem and insert it up into the dust cup container making sure that the top rim of the filter fits onto the top of the dust cup container and twist it clockwise to lock in place.
Ensure that the filter assembly is completely seated inside the dust cup (container).
Important: Do NOT use the HEPA filter
cartridge without the debris screen in place.
10. Re-install dust cup into the vacuum and re-attach hose.
Changing & Cleaning the Pre-Motor Filter
The pre-motor filter is located underneath the dust cup container. This is a rinseable filter but should be replaced every six (6) months. Never operate the vacuum without ALL the filters in place.
• Push the Power On/Off button to the
"Off" position and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
• Remove the dust cup container.
• Remove the pre-motor filter and rinse
in lukewarm water, let dry completely. Do not use a hair dryer to dry it. Air dry only.
• When filter is completely dry, replace
pre-motor filter back into the unit and replace the dust cup container.
Assembling Your Vacuum Cleaner Note: Always remove the power plug
from the wall outlet before assembling or removing accessories.
1. Attaching the Flexible Hose
into the Vacuum
Connect the flexible hose into the air intake duct. Push in until you hear a “click”, indicating it is in its locked position.
To remove the flexible hose first remove the power nozzle power cord from the receptacle for the power nozzle power cord, then depress locking button and remove hose.
Connect the hose connecting power cord from the flexible hose to the power cord receptacle that is on the unit just below the air intake duct.

2. Fitting the Telescopic Tube
to the Curved Wand / Hose Extension
Push the telescopic tube into the curved wand / hose extension, as shown in the illustration below. Make sure that the telescopic tube locks in place.

Push forward on the plastic button and pull the inner tube outward.
4. Fitting the Floor to Carpet

1. Connecting the power nozzle with
the telescopic tube: A) Depress the button on the
telescopic tube and insert it into the slot on the power nozzle elbow.
B) Push the telescopic tube down
until you hear a "click". (see illustration below).

2. Insert the motorized brush power cord plug into the power socket on the flexible hose. To start motorized brush press the On/Off button that is located on the motorized brush.

Using your Vacuum
Note: Once all attachments are in
place, unwind a sufficient length of cable and insert the plug into the wall outlet. A yellow mark on the power cord shows the ideal cable length. Don't pull the power cord beyond the red mark.

2. Press the Power On/Off button located on the unit to turn the vacuum cleaner "On".

3. To rewind the power cord, press the cord rewind button with one hand and hold the plug of the power cord with the other hand to ensure that it does not whip causing damage or injury.
Motor Thermostat
Important: This vacuum cleaner is
equipped with a motor protective thermostat. If for some reason your vacuum overheats, the thermostat will automatically turn the unit off. Should this occur, unplug the vacuum from the wall outlet and turn off the switch. Empty the dust cup, "TapClean" the dust cup filter and check for blockages in hose and suction inlet. Allow the unit to cool for a minimum of 45 minimum prior to restarting the unit. To restart, re-plug the vacuum into the wall socket and turn the switch back on
Removing & Cleaning the Rinseable "TapClean" HEPA Dust Cup Filter
Warning: Always unplug the unit
from electrical outlet before removing the Dust Cup (container).
1. Push the Power On/Off button to "Off" and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
2. Lift the dust cup handle and lift the dust cup container out.
3. Hold dust cup container over a waste basket (garbage can), push the dust cup release button to open the dust cup. Dispose of the dust inside. (See illustration below.) Note: If dust is tightly packed and

After you have removed the Rinseable "TapClean" HEPA dust cup filter from the dust cup, separate the debris screen from the HEPA filter cartridge by holding the top rim of the filter and twisting the debris screen counterclockwise to unlock the debris screen from the filter. Then lift the debris screen to remove.
6. Rinse the debris screen under the faucet with lukewarm water until clean. Allow to air dry for 24 hours. Do NOT wash in dishwasher.
