Product Overview
Designed for extending Wi-Fi coverage to outdoor areas, the ExtremeWireless WiNG AP 6562 provides a cost-eective means of supporting the most demanding wireless applications and a large number of wireless devices. Ideal for distribution centers, hospitality, retail, and education campuses, the AP 6562 can handle the increasing number of Wi-Fi enabled devices and bandwidth-heavy applications connecting to your wireless network.
The AP 6562 access point is designed to help lower the cost of deploying and operating a secure, reliable, and targeted outdoor wireless network, all powered by
the ExtremeWireless WiNG 5 architecture. Choose from two models: an integrated
antenna model for fast wall mounting or an external antenna model for pole
mounting and remote wireless backhaul.
The access point features dual 802.11n 2x2 radios with superior receive and transmit
performance, a console port for configuration, and a GiGE LAN/WAN PoE-enabled port for local or remote network connectivity. With its ExtremeWireless WiNG 5
intelligence, this access point seamlessly extends your network to the outdoors with higher throughput along with direct forwarding, security, QoS services and site survivability.
INTELLIGENT MESH NETWORKING
Extend your wireless network coverage to areas where Ethernet cabling is cost-
prohibitive or otherwise impractical, the AP 6562 can operate wirelessly, connecting
to other access points for data backhaul, in a mesh topology. The AP 6562
provides robust data connections throughout the network by leveraging Extreme’s
MeshConnex™. MeshConnex provides ecient routing, low latency, low routing overhead, high-speed handos and proven scalability. The AP 6562 delivers superior
performance in hotels and resorts covering pool areas, in retail environments covering parking lots, outdoor yards in distribution centers, and education campus outdoor areas.

LESS IS MORE
• ExtremeWireless WiNG 5 WLAN solutions oer all the benefits of 11n—and then some. Our distributed architecture extends QoS, security, and mobility services to the APs so you get better direct routing and network resilience. That means no bottleneck at the wireless controller, no latency
issues for voice applications, and no
jitter in your streaming video. And with our broad selection of access points and flexible network configurations, you get the network you need with less
hardware to buy. Let us show you the
less complicated, less expensive way to more capacity, more agility, and more satisfied users
HIGH PERFORMANCE DUAL-RADIO DESIGN
The AP 6562 is an independent, dual-radio access point designed to lower the cost of deploying and operating a secure, reliable 802.11n wireless LAN outdoor. The AP
6562 features dual MIMO radios with superior receive and transmit sensitivity. One
radio can be used for client access while the second radio is used for simultaneous client access on a dierent frequency band or as a dedicated sensor for security and troubleshooting. The AP 6562 is a site-survivable wireless access point that does not require a controller and can act as a virtual controller coordinating the activities of 24 neighboring access points.
GAP-FREE SECURITY
The AP 6562 provides enterprise-class security with layer 2-7 stateful packet
filtering firewall, AAA RADIUS services, Wireless IPS-lite, VPN gateway, and
location-based access control. The security capability of the AP 6562 is further enhanced when deployed in combination with premise- or cloud-based versions of the Extreme AirDefense Services Platform, which increase the security and
resiliency of AP 6562 networks with an array of advanced security and network assurance features including Spectrum Analysis, Wireless IPS, Live RF, Advanced
Forensics, and AP Testing to proactively identify and mitigate network disruptions.
IMPROVE YOUR GUEST EXPERIENCE
Deploying a simple outdoor extension to the indoor wireless network comes
naturally with AP 6562, allowing hospitality customers the ability to reach outdoors with applications targeted toward guest experience and concierge, expedited check-in and valet, or revenue generation in pool and guest access areas.
FAST AND EASY ZERO-TOUCH DEPLOYMENT
The AP 6562 requires no configuration or manual firmware maintenance. The
ExtremeWireless WiNG controller discovers access points on the network and automatically downloads all configuration parameters and firmware, greatly
reducing installation, maintenance and troubleshooting costs for Layer 2 and Layer 3 deployments. With internal and external antenna SKU options, the compact and aesthetic design provides more choices for mounting locations.
