BATTERY BACKUP

This radio has a battery back-up system on the rear of the radio to
ensure continuous operation of the memory presets, clock and alarm
in the event of power failure. The switch from AC to battery power
is automatic. However under battery power the clock display will not
illuminate, even though the clock will maintain the current time and
will store the alarm time in its memory. The system operates on 2 AA
batteries.

Make sure that the batteries are installed correctly. Wrong polarity
may damage the unit. It is suggested to use alkaline batteries for the
sake of better performance. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do
not mix carbon-zinc, alkaline or rechargeable batteries. Remove the
batteries if the unit is not going to be used for a long period. Leaking
batteries may cause damage to the unit and will void the warranty.

SETTING UP YOUR SYSTEM

Plug one of the speakers into the LEFT SPEAKER OUT jack on the
back of the radio and the other one into the RIGHT SPEAKER OUT
jack. It doesn’t matter which one you plug into the left or right. Plug
the FM antenna into its socket. Plug the AM antenna into its socket.

Plug the AC adapter into the mains and then into the radio’s AC
14VAC socket.

PREPARING THE REMOTE FOR USE

The remote uses a CR/DL2025 battery. Insert it into the battery
holder with the writing facing opposite to the writing on the remote.
Replace the battery when it no longer works. Pull out the plastic tab
to activate the remote.

TURNING THE RADIO ON

Press the STANDBY button on the radio or on the remote.

SELECTING PLAY MODES

Press the MODE button on the radio or the remote to select UDISK,
SD/MMC, AUX or TUNER.

remote’s AM/FM button or the BAND button or the BAND button
on the unit. Tune using the tuning buttons on the radio or the
remote. A quick, short press tunes individual frequencies; a longer
press of 1 second engages auto tuning, which tunes only to stations
of strong signal strength.

STORING AM OR FM FREQUENCIES

You may store 10 AM and 20 FM stations. To store a station:
Tune to it rst, then press PROGRAM on the remote; then use the
numeric keypad to enter the two-digit memory number that you wish
it to be stored in or scroll to that number with the remote’s PS/F but­tons ; then press PROGRAM. By two-digit number we mean 01,
02 ….. 20. ‘PS’ stands for preset; ‘F’ stands for folder.

RETRIEVING STATIONS STORED IN MEMORY

To scroll through what you’ve stored into memory, press the remote’s
PS/F

number, e.g. 01, 02, ….. 18, 19, 20.

Press the MODE button on the radio or the remote until UDISK or
SD/MMC appears. Plug in your USB or SD/MMC card. Play automati­cally begins.

To advance folders, press the remote’s advance folder buttons,
PS/F . ‘F’ stands for folder. To advance tracks, press the button.
To go back to the beginning of a track, press the button. To go
back to the previous track, press the button twice. To advance
or go back within tracks keep the buttons pressed. To pause
play, press the button. To start play again, press it again. Press the
stop button to stop play. During play, folder, track, play time, song
name, artist and album name ash in the display.

While playing from a USB or SD/MMC card, you may select the follow­ing play modes with the remote; they show in the upper portion of

the display: RANDOM, INTRO and REPEAT.

A. RANDOM plays the songs randomly.
B. INTRO plays each song for 10 seconds.
C. REPEAT: four repeat modes are possible by pressing the REPEAT

button sequentially. REPEAT ALL or REPEAT FOLDER can be used
with INTRO and RANDOM.

1. To play one song over and over, press the REPEAT button until
an open rectangle with arrow appears in the upper left corner of
the display. RANDOM and INTRO do not work.

2. To play a segment of a song, press the REPEAT button until
A appears where you want the segment to start, then press
REPEAT again causing B to appear where you wish to end the
segment. A and B appear in the upper left corner of the display.
Any 90-second segment can be repeated. RANDOM and INTRO
do not work.

3. Press the REPEAT button until ALL appears in the upper left
corner of the display to repeat all songs. RANDOM and/or INTRO
may be turned on.

4. Press the REPEAT button until FOLDER appears in the upper
left corner of the display to repeat a folder. RANDOM and/or
INTRO may be turned on.

5. Press REPEAT until all repeat symbols disappear. Play is normal.

SETTING THE CLOCK

This is a 12-hour clock, showing AM and PM.

1. Press the button on the remote for about 3 seconds or until
the hour ashes.

THE ALARM ON/OFF BUZZER BUTTON

Press the remote’s or the ALARM button to sequentially to select
ALARM ON/OFF or BUZZER. When the alarm is on, an asterisk (*)
appears in the display to the left of the clock. The BUZZER will alarm
for 25 minutes; the TUNER, USB or SD will alarm for 59 minutes. Set
the desired volume level for the alarm before turning the radio to
standby.

THE SNOOZE BUTTON

After the alarm turns on you can press the SNOOZE button on top of
the radio and sleep for about 10 more minutes.

BASS BUTTON

Pressing this button turns the bass on or off.

EQ BUTTON

Pressing this button selects FLAT, ROCK, JAZZ, CLASSIC and POP
equalization. Use the one whose sound you like best.

SLEEP BUTTON

Selects sleep time of 00-90 minutes. The radio plays for the amount
of minutes selected and then turns off. Use with the radio turned on.

THE MUTE BUTTON

Pressing the remote’s mute button mutes the radio. Press it again
to un-mute it or press one of the tuning buttons.

STEREO/MONO BUTTON

Pressing the remote’s STEREO/MONO button during FM radio play
enables selection of stereo or mono play.

AUX INPUT

Use this input on the back of the radio (3.5 mm, 1.8 inch stereo) to
route a signal input into this radio.

SPEAKER OUTPUT

Use this output on the back of the radio (3.5 mm, 1/8 inch stereo) to
route the signal to external, amplied speakers.

NOTE: In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge, reset
the product to resume normal operation. To reset the product,
unplug AC from the back of the unit, wait 30 seconds, then plug it
back in.

To obtain service for your product, we recommend rst contacting
an Etón service representative at 1-800-872-2228 US, 1-800­637-1648 Canada, [phone] or [e-mail]
for problem determination and trouble-shooting. If further service
is required, the technical staff will instruct how to proceed based
on whether the radio is still under warranty or needs non-warranty
service.

WARRANTY – If your product is still in warranty and the Etón ser­vice representative determines warranty service is needed, a return
authorization will be issued and instructions will be given. DO NOT
ship your radio back without obtaining the return authorization.

NON-WARRANTY – If your product is no longer under warranty and
requires service, the Etón service representative will refer you to the
nearest repair facility that will best handle the repair.

PILES BACKUP

L’appareil dispose d’un système de secours Backup fonctionnant
avec des piles qui garantit que des espaces mémoire, l’heure et
l’heure de réveil ne soient pas perdus en cas de panne de courant ou
de coupure d’alimentation. Le casier à piles se trouve à l’arrière de
l’appareil. Le passage du secteur au fonctionnement par piles se fait
automatiquement. En mode « piles », l’heure ne s’afche plus. L’heure
actuelle et l’heure de réveil sont cependant mises en mémoire. Le
système nécessite 2 piles de type AA.

Placer les piles comme indiqué. En cas d’interversion des pôles,
l’appareil pourrait être endommagé. Nous recommandons l’emploi
de piles alcalines car elles ont une meilleure efcacité. Ne jamais
mettre ensemble de vieilles piles et des piles neuves, des piles
de type différent (par exemple alcalines et carbone-zinc) ou des
piles rechargeables et jetables. Si l’appareil ne doit pas fonctionner
pendant une période prolongée, enlever les piles. Les piles pourraient
couler et endommager l’appareil. Un tel dommage n’est pas couvert
par la garantie.

AVANT LA MISE EN SERVICE

Brancher les deux haut-parleurs respectivement dans les deux
sorties (LEFT SPEAKER OUT et RIGHT SPEAKER OUT) à l’arrière de
l’appareil. La gauche et la droite ne jouent ici aucun rôle. Brancher
l’antenne FM et l’antenne AM dans les prises prévues à cet effet.
Brancher la prise secteur d’abord dans la prise murale et ensuite dans
le branchement prévu sur l’appareil pour l’adaptateur 14-Volts-AC.

AVANT LA MISE EN SERVICE DE LA
TELECOMMANDE

La télécommande nécessite une pile de type CR/DL2025. Placez la
pile dans le logement de telle sorte que les inscriptions soient en
face des inscriptions sur la télécommande. Changez une pile vide.
Retirez la languette en plastique pour activer la télécommande.

MISE EN MARCHE DE LA RADIO

Presser la touche STANDY sur l’appareil ou sur la télécommande.

SELECTION DU MODE RADIO

Appuyer sur la touche MODE sur l’appareil ou sur la télécommande
pour choisir les fonctions UDISK, SD/MMC, AUX ou TUNER..

REGLAGE DU VOLUME:

Utiliser les touches VOL sur la télécommande ou sur le régula­teur placé sur l’appareil.

ECOUTE DE PROGRAMMES AM OU FM

Agir avec la touche MODE TUNER, et ensuite avec la touche AM/FM
sur la télécommande ou la touche BAND placée sur l’appareil
(AM/FM). Pour le réglage des émetteurs, utiliser les touches

sur l’appareil ou sur la télécommande. Par une légère pression,
on parvient à régler des fréquences individuelles; si l’on presse
plus longtemps (environ 1 seconde), on met en route la recherche
automatique des émetteurs, par laquelle seules les stations qui
émettent un fort signal peuvent être atteintes.

MISE EN MEMOIRE DE FREQUENCES FM OU AM

L’appareil dispose de 10 places pour les stations ondes moyennes
et de 20 places pour les stations FM. Pour mettre des stations en
mémoire :

D’abord trouver les émetteurs, puis presser la touche PROGRAM sur
la télécommande. Rentrer le numéro de programme souhaité sur le
pavé numérique (2 chiffres), ou choisir les chiffres en recherchant
avec les touches PS/F sur la télécommande. Ensuite presser à
nouveau PROGRAM. Il doit toujours y avoir deux chiffres, donc rentrer
« 01 »“ pour le programme «1» (jusqu’à 20). PS veut dire PRESET. ‘F’
signie « folder ».

APPEL DE STATIONS MISES EN MEMOIRE

On peut les « feuilleter » en utilisant les touches PS/F sur la té­lécommande. PS veut dire PRESET. ‘F’ signie « folder ». En rentrant
les chiffres correspondant à chaque émetteur mis en mémoire (par
exemple 01, 02, ..., 19, 20), on peut obtenir directement la station.

PAR CLE USB OU CARTE SD/MMC

Appuyer sur la touche MODE sur l’appareil ou sur la télécommande
autant de fois qu’il est nécessaire pour obtenir UDISK ou SD/MMC.
Brancher la clé USB ou la carte SD/MMC. L’émission démarre automa­tiquement.

Vous pouvez basculer sur d’autres répertoires au moyen des touches

PS/F de la télécommande. F signie FOLDER (classeur). Pour
aller au morceau suivant, presser la touche Si vous pressez la
touche , le morceau commence au début. Si vous pressez la touche

deux fois, le morceau précédent commence au début. Si vous
maintenez les touches appuyées, vous pouvez vous déplacer
vers l’avant ou vers l’arrière à l’intérieur de chaque morceau. Pour
interrompre, appuyer sur la touche (pause). Si vous appuyez
encore une fois, l’appareil redémarre. Il s’arrête si l’on presse la touche

. Pendant la chanson, le répertoire, le numéro, la durée, le titre de la
chanson, le nom de l’interprète et de l’album sont afchés sur l’écran.

Si on est en mode USB ou carte SD/MMC, on peut, au moyen de la
télécommande, choisir les fonctions suivantes, qui seront afchées
dans la partie supérieure de l’écran : RANDOM, INTRO et REPEAT.

A. Avec RANDOM, les titres sont joués au hasard, sans ordre.
B. Avec INTRO, chaque titre sera joué pendant 10 secondes.
C. Avec REPEAT, vous pouvez régler, en pressant la touche plusieurs

fois, quatre modes différents. REPEAT ALL ou REPEAT FOLDER
peuvent être combinés avec INTRO et RANDOM.

1. Pour répéter une chanson constamment, appuyer sur la touche
REPEAT jusqu’à ce qu’apparaisse un quadrilatère ouvert avec une
èche jusqu’en haut à gauche de l’écran d’afchage. RANDOM et
INTRO ne sont pas compatibles.

2. Pour obtenir une certaine partie d’une chanson, appuyer sur

la touche REPEAT jusqu’à ce qu’apparaisse un A à l’endroit où
la chanson est censée démarrer. En pressant la touche REPEAT
une nouvelle fois, on marque la n de la section et un B apparaît.
A et B sont afchés en haut à gauche de l’écran. Il est possible
de répéter toutes les sections qui durent au moins 90 secondes.
RANDOM et INTRO ne sont pas compatibles.

3. Pour répéter tous les titres, appuyer sur la touche REPEAT
jusqu’à que ALL apparaisse en haut à gauche de l’écran. RANDOM
et/ou INTRO sont compatibles.

4. Pour répéter tout un répertoire, appuyer sur la touche REPEAT
jusqu’à obtention du mot FOLDER en haut à gauche de l’écran.
RANDOM et/ou INTRO sont compatibles.

5. Pour revenir au mode de fonctionnement normal, appuyer sur
la touche REPEAT jusqu’à ce que tous les symboles de répétition
aient disparu de l’écran.

RÉGLAGE DE L’HEURE

Il s’agit d‘une horloge avec format 12 heures afchant AM et PM.

1. Appuyez sur le bouton
