This guide provides basic guidelines for the Rosemount IO-Link USB
Communicator. It does not provide instructions for diagnostics,
maintenance, service, or troubleshooting. This guide is available
electronically on Emerson.com/Rosemount.
This tool allows you to apply sensors and actuators with an IO-Link interface
(IO-Link devices). The IO-Link devices are described by XML device
descriptions so they can be adjusted and observed in a comfortable and
multilingual manner. The tool serves for the pre-adjustment, test, and
demonstration of IO-Link devices. The tool is not intended for operations in
manufacturing plants.
Document purpose
This guide provides information required to install the Rosemount

Table 3-3: Power supply
A USB port provides as standard 500 mA with 5 V. Without wall power supply the IOLink Master provides approximately 80 mA with 24 V. Therefore, many IO-Link
devices can be used. If the IO-Link device requires more current, the wall power supply
must be used. The pin assignment is demonstrated below.
