The DENON D-M71DVSXP is the first DVD system in the world* to feature "Dolby Virtual Speaker" from Dolby Laboratories, delivering dynamic multi-channel
surround effects from just 2 stereo speakers.
The D-M71DVSXP also comes with "Dolby Headphone," normally found on DENON models in the highest price range, and the Hammer Head SHARC advanced
32-bit floating point DSP that has been used in DENON's high-end AVR-5803 surround amplifier to high critical acclaim.
With these features, the D-M71DVSXP supports the latest surround formats and ensures total accuracy in surround decoding.

World's First !
The new D-M71DVSXP is the first DVD system in the world to include Dolby Virtual
Speaker, the latest revolutionary surround format developed by Dolby Laboratories.
Signals decoded into 5.1 channels are processed by Dolby Virtual Speaker to
produce surround sound with localization more accurate than conventional virtual
surround systems. Since surround sound can be enjoyed from just the 2 front
speakers, there is no need for center or surround speakers, saving space and
money, or worrying about how to place them in the room.

Dolby Headphone allows listeners to achieve the same quality of acoustic
characteristics through headphones as they can from the speakers.
This means that listeners can enjoy the dynamic surround sound of their home

Expertly designed cabinet made of extruded aluminum, minimizing standing waves

PRE OUT jacks for center and surround left and right channels are provided so the
system can be expanded by adding appropriate amplification and speakers to create
a genuine 5.1-channel surround system.
››› Hybrid construction for slim design and high-quality sound reproduction
Highly rigid aluminum of 3 mm thickness enables a slim design while retaining
the ability to accommodate the usual speaker components. An MDF material
has been used above and below the aluminum enclosure to form a novel hybrid
construction of metal and wood that produces high-quality sound with natural
acoustic characteristics not possible with aluminum alone.
››› LF Direct circuitry, for faithful playback of deep bass sound
When LF Direct is used, the low-frequency signals bypass the subwoofer's cross-over
circuit and level control circuit, avoiding phase distortion and signal degredation at the
subwoofer side. The result youhear is a pure deep bass sound that is utterly faithful
to the original source, a real advantage in today's age of advanced digital formats.
