When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be
followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and/or personal injury.
1) Read all instructions.
2)Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near
children.
3)To protect against fire, electric shock and/or personal injury, do not place cord,
plugs, or appliance in water or any other liquid.
4)Turn the unit off and unplug it from the outlet when not in use, before cleaning
and before installing or removing attachments.
5)Blades are sharp and should be handled with care. Hold the blade assembly
at the top, away from the cutting edge, both when handling and cleaning.
6)Remove the blade assembly before emptying the bowl of its contents.
7)Never remove the power unit until blade rotation has completely terminated.
8)Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance
to an authorized DeLonghi service center for examination, repair or adjustment.
9)To disconnect, remove plug from wall outlet. Always hold the plug, but never
pull the cord.
10) Do not use outdoors.
11) Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
12) Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
13) Do not leave machine unattended.
14) Do not use unauthorized attachments.
15) Do not run the unit for longer than 30 seconds. Leave to cool for 1 minute in
between each 30-second interval.
16) Do not operate the unit if the glass bowl is empty.
17) Never operate the unit with the bowl filled with liquid.
SHORT CORD INSTRUCTIONS
A short power cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from entanglement or
tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power supply cords are available
and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a longer detachable power cord
or extension cord is used (1) the marked electrical rating of the extension cord
should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and (2) the
longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or table
top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally. The
electrical rating of the appliance is listed on the bottom of the unit. If the appliance is
of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounded type 3 wire cord.
This appliance has a polarized plug. One blade is wider than the other. As a safety
feature this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST USE
Carefully unpack your mini food processor and chopper and remove all packaging
material. Use caution when removing the blade covers from the blade assembly.
These covers should be discarded as they are to protect the blade assembly during
manufacture and shipping. Remove any labels or stickers from the unit. To remove
any dust that may have accumulated during packaging, clean the mini food processor and chopper and its included attachments thoroughly before using for the first
time. (See “Cleaning Your Mini Food Processor and Chopper” section of this manual
for detailed instructions).
OPERATING YOUR MINI FOOD PROCESSOR AND CHOPPER
1) Place the non-slip mat (E) onto the work surface with the ribbed side down.
2) Position the glass bowl (D) onto the middle of the non-slip mat.
3) Fit the blade assembly (C) over the pin in the glass bowl. Blades are sharp so
use caution during assembly.
4) Add your food (see the “Processing Guide” section of your instruction manual).
Cut large pieces of food into 1/2 to 3/4-inch pieces.
5) Note: For chopping hard foods such as ice cubes, coffee beans and chocolate,
use a pulsing action.
6) Fit the splash guard (B) onto the glass bowl. Make sure the slots in the splash
guard fit over the handles in the rim of the glass bowl. The unit will not operate
if the splash guard is improperly positioned.
7) Fit the power unit (A) into the hole at the top of splash guard. The power unit
will only fit correctly in two positions.
8) Plug the unit into a 120V/60Hz AC only outlet.
9) With your hand, press down on the top of the power unit to begin operation.
Press down for short lengths of time to produce a pulsing action. This will
avoid over-processing the ingredients.
10) If the machine labors, remove some of the mixture. Continue processing in
separate batches to avoid straining the motor.
11) To terminate operation, remove your hand from the top of the unit or discontinue
pressure.
12) Do not run the mini food processor and chopper continuously for longer than 30
seconds. Leave the unit to cool for 1 minute in between each 30-second
operation.
13) After use, unplug unit and carefully dismantle detachable parts.
14) Note: The included glass bowl (D) can be used in a microwave oven for
reheating purposes. A sealed lid (F) is also included for storage purposes.
Once chopping is completed, save the contents by placing the sealed lid on top
of the glass bowl. Note: Sealed lid is not safe for use in microwave ovens.
