Important Safeguards
WATER AND MOISTURE
Never install the set in the following places : In a wet basement. bathroom. Do not place any container with liquid on the set.
HEA T
Never place the set near heat sources.
VENTILA TION
Do not cover the ventilations openings in the cabinet and never place the set in a confined space such as bookcase or built-in unless proper ventilation is provided. Leave a minumum 10cm gap all around the unit.
OBJECT ENTRY
Do not insert foreign objects, such as needles and coins, in the ventilation openings.
LIGHTNING STRIKING
You should disconnect the set from the mains and the aerial system during thunderstorms.
CLEANING
Unplug the set from the mains during cleaning…
AFTER MOVING THE SET
If the set is moved in a different direction, the MAIN POWER button must be switched off for at least 15 minutes in order to take out a colour strain on the screen.

Before Launching
INSERTING BA TTERIES INT O THE CONTROL UNIT
Insert the batteries (two 1,5V, type AAA)
MAINS CONNECTION
Plug the mains cable into the power soket with 230V/50Hz AC.
AERIAL CONNECTION
When using an outdoor aerial, it is usually connected to the set by means of 75 ohms.
SWITCHING ON AND OFF
Switching on
Switch the set on with the power button, (ON/OFF), and then PR UP or DOWN buton on the front of the set. Or POWER button or the UP/DOWN button or one of the NUMBER buttons on the remote control.
Switching off
Press POWER button, ( ), on the remote control to return the set to its stand by mode. If you don't use the set for an extended period, of time, turn it off with MAIN POWER button on the set.

Connecting the external equipment
TV AND AV
SCART JACK (AV) :
Use the AV button (b) on the remote control, or on the front of the set to select one of the three options. Whenever the AV button (b) is pressed, on the on-screen display will be changed as shown: AV S-VHS TV
This is used to connect a VCR(1), a PERI-TV decoder(2), a Camcoder or a video game console. In most case, the set changes automatically to AV when the VCR connected is in display mode. If not, press the av button (b) on the remote control or on the front of the set. You must turn the external equipment off to return to the TV mode.

FRONT AV JACK
Connect the AV (Audio/Video) socket with an appreciate cable to the corresponding socket of the external equipment. Select AV mode by pressing the AV button. Press the AV button to return to the TV mode. Note that you can play only one apparatus, if two apparatuses are conected FRONT AV JACK and SCART JACK.

Change)
Tuning the TV channels.
Press the MENU button to call up the menu. It consists in 4 sub menus : Picture, timer, language, install.
Select the sub menu language with the UP/DOWN button. Then, press RIGHT button.
Select the required language with the UP/DOWN button, then, press the MENU button to return to the menu.
Installation
LANGUAGE SELECTION
Select the INSTALL menu at the MENU with the UP/DOWN button, then press RIGHT button.
Place the cursor th AUTO SETUP a press RIGHT button.
Choose the country you require with the UP/DOWN button and press RIGHT button. Then, the cursor will move from left to right.
Please wait until the EDIT MENU appears. Note theat : The country autotuned determines
the teletext character set.

Place the cursor to the prog. number to skip with the UP/DOWN, button.
You can select SKIP "YES" or "NO" with the SKIP button. A prog. marked with SKIP "YES" is skipped when changing channel using the UP/DOWN button.

Place the cursor to the prog. number to delete with the UP/DOWN button.
Press the DELETE button. While this is being carried out, the "please wait" appears and the "deleted" prog. is moved to the prog. n˚99 and the programmes below the deleted prog. NO will be shifted to the prog. NO lower by zone. The programme moved to the n˚99 will be initialized to skip "yes". The prog. located in the prog. n˚99 will move to the prog. n˚98.
DELETE PROGRAMME POSITION DATA
Place the cursor to the prog. number to move with the UP/DOWN button.
Press the MOVE button. Place the cursor to the Prog. n˚. to insert and press MOVE button, then the Prog. will be inserted.

Place the cursor to below NAME with the LEFT/RIGHT button.
Using the UP/DOWN button, select the desired letter, number or blank Press the RIGHT button to select the next position. Press the MENU button to complete the procedure.
ENTER A STATION NAME
Place the cursor to MANUAL TUNE with the UP/DOWN button.
Press the LEFT/RIGHT button.
The tuning screen will appear and the cursor will move from left to right or from right to left. The channel will be searched from the band area of current programme. After searching a station, the tuning screen will disappear. To stop searching, press the MENU button.

If you are unable to get a good picture because a poor broadcasting signal, it's possible to adjust the fine tuning. Place the cursor to F/T.
Press the LEFT/RIGHT button to activate fine tuning.
It only operates while the LEFT/RIGHT button is being pressed, The changes are automatically memorized.
FINE TUNING
If you hear strange sound or noise sound, Call up the EDIT menu at the INSTALL menu. Then, press RIGHT button.
Place the cursor to below SOUND with the LEFT/RIGHT button.
Select the sound system BG, DK, I or LL' with the UP/DOWN button, then sound will be changed.

The set has a total of 100 programme numbers, 0...99. The NUMBER button 0...9 are used for direct programme selection. In order two digit programme, press the second numbered button within two seconds. Swich through the programme number step by step with the UP/DOWN buttons.

VOLUME CONTROL
Adjust the volume with the VOLUME ( ), DOWN/UP buttons on the front of the set, or with the LEFT/RIGHT buttons on the remote control.
MUTE
Pressing the MUTE button, (c), once turns the sound off. The sound returns if the button is pressed once more. The volume is adjusted with the volume DOWN/UP or with the LEFT/RIGHT button.
PICTURE CONTROL
Press the MENU button to call up the MENU.
Press the RIGHT button to call up the PICTURE menu.
You can select each function with the UP/DOWN buttons. Use the LEFT/RIGHT button to adjust each function brightness, contrast, colour, sharpness. The last set value is automatically stored in FAVOURITE mode. If you set the brightness valus too low, the on-screen display becomes dark.
Note that when you press the NORMAL button repeatedly, you can call up three picture settings : NORMAL 1 (hard picutre), NORMAL 2(sofe picture), FAVOURITE(adjustable picture).

SETTING THE CLOCK
In the MENU, select the sub menu TIMER.
Press the RIGHT button on the CLOCK line.
Set the hours and minutes with the UP/DOWN buttons. Press the RIGHT button to complete. The clock will start.
Note that If you turn the TV off with MAIN POWER button, The clock settings is lost and must be reset if necessary.

SETTING THE WAKE UP TIME
Select the WAKE UP line with the UP/DOWN button. Then, press RIGHT button.
Select YES or NO with UP/DOWN button. Then, press RIGHT button.
Select the TIME line with the UP/DOWN button.
Set the time the same way as above for the clock setting. Then, press RIGHT button.

Select the PROG. LINE with the UP/DOWN button. Then, press RIGHT button.
Select the required PROG and press RIGHT button to complete.
Note that when wake up time is operative, the set will switch on to this programme number at the set time.
AUTO CLOCK SET
Select the Auto Clock set Pr & prog. with the UP/DOWN & LEFT/RIGHT button.
SLEEP
By pressing the SLEEP button repeatedly, you can select one of the following settings: 00:00 00:20 00:40 01:00 01:20 01:40 02:00 The set will turn off after time you select.
Automatic Switch-Off in No Brodacast Signal
If broadcast signal is not present for about 30 minutes, the set will be automatically turned off. In AV mode, however, this function does not operate.
RECALL
The RECALL button is used to display the current status:programme number, station name, clock. This disply appears for 5 seconds unless any button is pressed.

You can prevent the use of the TV set without the remote control. The set is child-locked after switching off the set by pressing the RED, GREEN, YELLOW, and POWER button in sequence on the remote control within 5 seconds. the child­lock function is indicated by flashing the STAND-BY INDICATOR. The set can only by switched back on using the remote control.
Note that child-lock function is prior to wake up function.
Pressing the MODE button on the remote control, the current system of the set will be displayed on the screen. Whenever you press the MODE button, the system will be changed as following : Euro E/Euro France
Note that this function only operates at Manual tune mode.
If you press the RECALL key with the MENU displayed on the screen, the OSD, except text will be half-toned. If you want toreturn to the normal OSD, press the RECALL key again.
You can call up the MENU without the remote control. You can enter the MENU directly by pressing the MENU button. If you press the MENU button over 1 sec, the MENU will be displayed on the screen; If you press the MENU button less than 1 sec, the screen wll be converted to AV mode. Move the cursor to the SUB MENU you want by using the PR UP/DOWN button, then the SUB MENU will be displayed on the screen. When the SUB MENU is diaplayed on the screen, you can set it by using the PR UP/DOWN or the volume UP/DOWN buttons. Press the MENU button to return to the previous MENU.

Teletext
SWITCHING TELETEXT ON/OFF
Press the TELETEXT button ( ). The index page viewed last will appear.
Press the TELETEXT button to return to the TV mode. Note that TELETEXT on this TV set is operated to Level 1.5.
COLOUR BUTTONS IN TOP/FLOF TELETEXT
Red, green, yellow and cyan fields are shown at the bottom of the screen. If TOP or FLOF teletext (FASTEXT) is transmitted by the station, press the corresponding colour button on the remote control unit, you can select the desired page easily.
SELECTING PAGES
The NUMBER buttons 0..9 are used to enter a page number. The selected page number appears at the top of the screen and the page appears after a short time. The UP/DOWN buttons increase or decrease the current page number by 1.
INDEX PAGE
You can switch directly to the programme preview (with TOP text) or the overview page of the station you are currently viewing by pressing
the INDEX ( ) button.
PAGE HOLD
Several sub pages can be combined under a page number and are scrolled at an interval determined by the television station. The presence of sub pages is indicated by, for example, 3/6, shown beneath the time, which means that you are looking at the 3rd page of a total of 6 pages. If you want to look at a subpage for a longer period of time, press the HOLD ( ) button. The content of the subpage shown is kept on the screen and no longer updated or switched to other subpages. Pressing the HOLD button again, the current subpage appears.
CALLING UP SUBPAGE DIRECTLY
Pressing the SUBPAGE ( ) button, "Page No./----" appears at the bottom of the screen.
Enter the subpage number that you want to call up with the NUMBER buttons 0..9, for example, the 2nd page, sequence 0002. The desired
subpage is sought and displayed. To exit, press the SUBPAGE ( ) button again.

WATCHING TELEVISION DURING TELETEXT MODE
Some pages are continually updated, for example, stock market reports, sports announcements, and the latest news. If you want to watch television and stay informed at the same time, press the CANCEL ( ) button. The regular programme is still visible and the teletext programme number appears at the top of the screen. Pressing the CANCEL button again, the teletext page appears with the updated information.
REVEAL ANSWER
This function can be used on certain pages to reveal the solution of riddles. Press the REVEAL( ) button to reveal a hidden answer and press again to hide it.
DOUBLING CHARACTER SIZE
Repeatedly pressing the SIZE( ) button doubles the character size in the following order: Upper half of the page -> Lower half of the page -> Return to normal size.
VOLUME, BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST CONTROL
Repeatedly pressing the MENU button in TELETEXT mode, VOLUME, BRIGHTNESS or CONTRAST appears at the bottom of the screen in the following order : VOLUME BRIGHTNESS CONTRAST You can control it with the LEFT/RIGHT buttons(VOLC/B).
TEXT MIX
Pressing the MIX button( ) in teletext mode, you can see an aerial channel also in the back ground. If you press the MENU button in MIX mode, volume control OSD is displayed and you can control it with the LEFT/RIGHT buttons, but no support for brightness and contrast control.
NOTE : In the RF mode that includes a teletext signal, you can see the teletext TIME by pressing the RED(delete) button.
