Enteral Feeding Pump
Directions For Use
NORMAL OPERATION
Plug the pump into AC wall outlet.
BATTERY OPERATION
Unplugging the pump from the AC line will place the pump on battery power. To
recharge the battery, plug the pump into an AC wall outlet. Pump will automati cally begin charging.
PROGRAMMING-These general instructions are for inserting the Kangaroo™
924 Feeding Sets into the Kangaroo™ 924 Feeding Pump.
1. Close roller clamp on pump set.
2. Fill feeding bag or spike container prior to setting up pump.
3. In order to achieve proper accuracy, the fluid line in the feeding bag must be
28 inches above the top of the feeding pump when initiating the feeding cycle.
4. Slowly open control clamp and fill entire line with fluid, leaving a few drops
of fluid in the drip chamber.
NOTE: Avoid filling the drip chamber more than half full.
5. Close roller clamp.
6. Load set per arrow diagram on pump. Do not overstretch tubing.
7. Press and wait while pump performs a system check.

8. Check VOL CLR light or press VOL then VOL CLR to clear volume.
9. Set feed rate using one of the two following options:
• Pressing the increase or decrease button, or

• Turning the knob on the left side of the pump
Setting the Volume to be Delivered “VTBD” Rate (optional feature)
• Press the VTBD button.
• Set “VTBD” by using knob on side of pump, or by pressing the
increase or decrease button.

• Only use the “VTBD” option if you want the pump to stop and alarm once a
set amount of formula is delivered.
10 . Open roller clamp.

If "dots" appear with message;
too much ambient light
Rotor is not turning while pump is
running.
Rotor is turning but is not detected
by rotor sensors.
Battery is fully discharged.
Alarm circuitry failure.

Refill feeding container. If bag has been in use for 24
hours, replace.
Locate point of occlusion and correct. Note: occlusion
may occur upstream or downstream from pump.
Check to make sure roller clamp on feeding set tubing
is open. Check the patency of feeding tube.
Check to make sure drip chamber is properly “locked”
in position in drip chamber guide.
Check to make sure formula is not preventing sensors
from proper operation. If formula cannot be removed
from inside walls of chamber via chamber manipulation,
replace set.
Check to make sure sensors are free of dried formula.
Remove any deposits by using a cotton swab dampened
with warm soapy water.
Plug pump power cord into wall outlet.

Press to silence alarm, then press again to stop

Check to make sure only a Kangaroo™ 924 Pump Set
has been placed onto the pump.
Check to make sure that the Optix™ Connector on
pump set has been properly positioned into the Optix™
lock on pump. Make sure there is no water or other
contaminants on the Optix™ Connector or Optix™ lock
window.
Move Pump away from bright light.
Return pump for technical service.
Return pump for technical service.
Charge battery for a minimum of 12 hours.
Return pump for technical service.
