1. Safety
1.1 General safety instructions for your safety and the safety of others
1. Keep the working area tidy. Cluttered surfaces and benches invite accidents.
2. Do not use the machine in dangerous environments. The machine should not be used on moist or wet
surfaces or in rain. Make sure that the work area is well lit. When working in dusty atmospheres, make sure
that the air is adequately circulated. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in
the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
3. Avoid electric shocks. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators when using power tools.
4. Keep children and bystanders away. Keep children and visitors at a safe distance from electrical
machinery/tools and electric cables in the workplace.
5. Store power tools out of the reach of children. When not in use, power tools should be stored locked
away in a safe place, away from children.
6. Do not force the machine. The correct feed rate makes the work better and safer.
7. Use the correct tool for the job. Do not force a tool to perform a task that it was not designed for.
8. Wear suitable attire. Do not wear any loose-fitting clothing, gloves, necklaces, bracelets or other jewellery
that can get caught in moving parts. Non-slip footwear is recommended. Wear a hairnet or similar if you
have long hair.
9. Always wear safety glasses. Normal glasses are not tough enough to withstand impacts. Use a dust
mask or dust filter when working in dusty environments.
10. Connect dust extraction equipment. If the machine is equipped with facilities for removing dust and
sawdust, make sure that the facility is used correctly and emptied regularly.
11. Do not abuse the lead. Do not carry the machine by its mains lead. Do not use the mains lead to pull or
unplug the power tool, pull the plug out instead. Make sure that the mains lead does not come into contact
with heat, oil, or sharp edges.
12. Secure the workpiece firmly. Where possible, use clamps or a vice. You can then operate the tool using
two hands. This is much safer than holding the workpiece in one hand.
13. Do not overreach. Make sure that you stand steady and balanced all times.
14. Look after you tools. Make sure that they are clean and that the edges are sharp for maximum effect and
best results. Follow the manuals recommendations regarding lubrication and replacement of accessories.
If it is damaged it should be replaced by a qualified service technician. Inspect all leads and cables regularly
to check for any damage. Make sure that the machine’s handles and controls are clean, dry and free from
oil and grease.
15. Turn the power off. Pull out the plug and push in the emergency stop button before servicing or changing
any blades, drill bits, cutters or sanding discs.
16. Remove all spanners and repair tools. Make a habit of checking to make sure that the machine is free of
all spanners and tools before turning the power on.
17. Avoid accidental starts. Do not walk around with your finger on the trigger of a power tool if it is plugged
in. Make sure that the on/off switch is set to OFF before plugging in any power tool.
18. Use the correct extension leads. If you use extension leads outdoors, only use those designed for
outdoor use. Only use extension leads with adequate wire core area and roll out the whole lead.
19. Use common sense and be careful. Think carefully before carrying out every action, so that it is carried
out safely. Never operate machines/power tools when you are tired or under the influence of medicine.

20. Inspect the tool for damage. Check the following before turning the tool on: that the guards and other
parts are undamaged and working properly, that moving parts can rotate freely and are correctly aligned,
that no moving parts can get caught, that there is no fault or defect that could affect the performance of
the machine. A safety guard or any other part that is damaged should be repaired by a tradesman or
replaced. Damaged power leads and switches must always be replaced by a tradesman.
Never operate a tool if you cannot stop or start the tool comfortably.
21. Use only recommended accessories. The use of non-recommended accessories can cause accidents
and personal injury.
22. Should only be repaired by a qualified technician. This tool conforms to current safety requirements.
Repairs to the tool should only be carried out by a tradesman using original spares; otherwise the tool
could cause accidents and personal injury.
23. Use a Residual Current Device on all 230 V power tools. This can help minimise the risk of an electric
shock if an earth fault or short circuit occurs. The product must not be modified or used for any other purpose
than that for which it has been designed. Regularly check that all screws and nuts are securely tightened.
1.2 Specific Safety Regulations for Belt Sanders
• Place the machine on a stable, level surface with plenty of room for manoeuvre.
• Think about how you are going to hold the workpiece during the entire sanding operation. Be wary of
kickbacks and injuries. The workpiece could catch in the sanding belt or disc and be ripped from your grasp.
• When using the sanding disc, always hold the workpiece against the side of the disc moving downwards
towards the table. If you sand against the upward side the workpiece can easily be ripped from your grasp.

• The distance between the belt/disc and work rest must never exceed 2 mm.
• To prevent the risk of fire: Keep the machine free of dust.
• Sparks produced when sanding metal can start fires. Prevent this by:
• Disconnecting any dust extractor suction hose that might be attached.
• First blowing off any dust particles on or in the machine.
• Removing any particles of metal before sanding wood again.
• Using the sander in a dry place, indoors and out of the rain. Make sure that the work area is well
illuminated.
• Position the sander in such a way neither the user nor any observer need stand in line with
the sanding belt or disc.
• Remove everything from the side table except the workpiece and the mitre guide.
• Avoid placing your hands in such a way that an accidental slip might cause a finger or hand to come into
contact with the abrasive surface. Keep your fingers well away from the opening to the dust extractor.
• Keep your face and as much of your body as possible out of range of possible kickbacks.

3. Assembly and preparations
Warning! Always make sure that the mains lead is unplugged before assembling or servicing/adjusting
the machine.
The sanding belt and disc are ready mounted at the factory.
3.1 Fitting/changing sanding disc paper (fig. 3)
1. Unplug the sander.
2. Remove the adjustable side table.
3. Undo the two screws holding the disc guard (14)
and remove the guard.
4. Remove the old sanding disc paper.
5. Peel the protective film off the new sanding disc
paper.
6. Align the new disc paper on the disc pad making
sure that it is centred. Press the sanding disc
paper firmly onto the disc pad.
7. Screw the guard (14) back into place.
3.2 Fitting/changing the sanding belt (fig. 4, 5, 6)
1. Unplug the sander.
2. Unscrew the work stop (3).
3. Move the release lever ((6) in fig. 4) in the direction
of the arrow to release the roller so that the
sanding belt can be removed.
4. Remove the two screws ((16) in fig. 5) on both
sides of the belt frame (10). Remove the upper
guard ((17) in fig. 5).
5. Remove the four screws ((18) in fig. 5) on both
sides of the belt frame (10). Remove the lower
guard ((19) in fig. 5).
6. Remove the rubber snubber ((20) in fig. 5).
7. Remove the old sanding belt from the rollers.
8. Fit the sanding belt the right way round.
The new sanding belt has an arrow on the inside
((21) in fig. 6), the belt must rotate in the direction
indicated by the arrow. Make sure that
the sanding belt is centred on both the rollers.
9. Replace the rubber snubber, upper guard and
lower guard. Tighten the screws on the side of
the belt frame.
10. Move the release lever ((6) in fig. 4) forwards to
tension the belt.
11. Adjust the belt tracking.

3.3 Mounting the side table (fig. 7, 8, 9)
1. Unplug the sander.
2. Insert the side table guide pin (on top of the

bracket) into the hole in the frame.
3. Tighten the locking knob ((7) in fig. 7).
4. To adjust the table: Undo the three screws on the
bottom of the side table (fig. 9). Adjust the side
table so that the distance between the table and
belt is no more than 1–2 mm (fig. 8).
Tighten the screws and the locking knob.
Warning! The distance between the sanding belt and
table must be no more than 1 or 2 mm otherwise
there is the possibility of fingers becoming trapped
in the gap.

3.4 Using the side table for belt sanding (fig. 10, 11)
1. Unplug the sander.
2. Unscrew the work stop (3).
3. Undo the locking screw (9), raise the belt frame
(10) and then tighten the locking screw.
4. Insert the side table guide pin (on top of
the bracket) into the hole in the frame.
5. Tighten the locking knob ((7) in fig. 10).
6. To adjust the table: Undo the three screws on the
bottom of the side table (fig. 9). Adjust the side
table so that the distance between the table and
belt is no more than 1–2 mm. Tighten the screws
and the locking knob.
Warning! The distance between the sanding
belt and table must be no more than 1 or 2
mm, otherwise there is the possibility of fingers
becoming trapped in the gap.
7. Adjust the moveable guard ((22) in fig. 11) so that
it covers the sanding belt beneath the table.

3.5 Mounting the work stop (fig. 12)
1. Unplug the sander.
2. Place the work stop (3) onto the side of the belt
frame.
3. Lock the fence in place with the screw (23).
3.6 Sanding belt tracking (fig. 13)
1. Plug the sander into a wall socket.
2. Turn on the motor and turn it off straight away.
Watch how the belt rotates on the rollers and
note if it is centred or pulling to one side.
If the belt is centred on both the rollers it
does not need adjusting, but if not:
If the belt pulls toward the sanding disc – turn
the adjusting screw (5) ¼ turn clockwise.
If the belt pulls outward away from
the sanding disc – turn the adjusting screw (5)
¼ turn anticlockwise.
3. Turn on the motor and turn it off straight away,
to check the tracking again. Repeat the above
tracking procedure until the belt is centred on
both of the rollers.

3.7 Using the sanding belt at different angles (fig. 14)
1. Unplug the sander.
2. Undo the locking screw (9), raise
the belt frame (10) to the desired angle and
then tighten the locking screw.
3.8 Power switch operation (fig. 15)
The sander is fitted with a combined power/no-volt
release switch.
• Push the green button [1] to start the motor.
• Push the red button [0] to turn the motor off.
The no-volt release switch prevents the motor from
automatically starting again following
a power cut. If the no-volt release switch has been
triggered, the machine can only be
restarted by pushing in the green button.

3.9 Placement
Position the machine on an appropriately high bench
and secure it with bolts through the baseplate.
Bear in mind that there must even be enough room
around the sander for working on large workpieces.

4. Operation
Sanding at an angle using the side table (fig. 16)
ENGLISH
The side table can be tilted to angles of 0–45˚.
1. Undo the locking knob (7) and tilt the side table to
the desired angle.
2. Tighten the locking knob. The supplied mitre
guide should be used when sanding small
workpieces on the sanding disc.
a. Hold the mitre guide against one side of
the workpiece.
b. Always hold the workpiece against the left half
of the sanding disc.

Surface sanding using the sanding belt (fig. 17)
The belt can be used either horizontally or vertically.
The work stop can also be used both ways. Surface
sanding is best done horizontally.
1. Hold the workpiece firmly in both hands, making
sure that your hands do not touch the belt.
2. Press one end of the workpiece firmly against
the fence. Pass the workpiece slowly sideways
across the sanding belt. Be careful when sanding
thin workpieces.
3. Do not exert too much pressure; a light touch
is all that is required. Remove a little material on
each pass.
Note!
The work stop should be removed for sanding long
workpieces.

Always sand inside radius curves on the idler roller,
(fig. 19).
Warning! Never attempt to sand the ends of a workpiece on the idler roller as the workpiece can kickback
and cause an injury.
Always sand outside radius curves on the left half of
the sanding disc, (fig. 20).
Warning! Never attempt to sand a workpiece on
the right half of the sanding disc as the workpiece can

5. Useful Tips
• The belt sander is suitable for working with objects made of wood or plastic. Surface finishing should be
carried out with a firm grip on the workpiece but without applying too much pressure onto the sanding belt.
Move the workpiece back and forwards over the belt to avoid grooves forming on the workpiece and so
that the belt wears evenly.
• Use the fence to support the workpiece. If the workpiece is longer than the sanding belt, the fence can be
removed to maximise the working surface.
• The sanding disc is perfect for forming and rounding pieces of wood.
• The quality of the finish depends entirely on the grit size of the sandpaper and how the workpiece is
handled. The best result will be achieved by first sanding with coarse grade sandpaper and then continuing
with a finer grade.
• It is often more practical to use the belt sander in the vertical position (see settings below).
The workpiece can then often be supported on the workbench.
• The machine is very efficient and designed for quick work removal, which means that you need to be
careful not to “over-sand”. Inspect the workpiece often during the sanding operation to make sure that you
do remove more material than intended.
• Wood should always be sanded in the direction of the grain. Sanding against the grain can produce
grooves in the wood and deep scratches when finishing. Do not apply too much force; let the machine
do the work. The results will be much more satisfying.
• To achieve the best finish on softwoods such as pine and spruce, you should apply a thin layer of diluted
shellac onto the surface of the wood before the final sanding. When the layer of shellac is removed it takes
with it the fine nap of wood flakes that form on the surface of softwoods, thus leaving a much smoother finish.
• The careful dressing of straight or bevelled edges is best performed using the mitre guide.

1. Säkerhet
1.1 Generella säkerhetsregler för din och andras säkerhet
1. Håll arbetsutrymmet rent. Belamrade ytor och bord inbjuder till olyckor.
2. Använd inte maskinen i riskfylld miljö. Elmaskiner skall inte användas på fuktiga, våta ytor eller vid regn.
Se till att belysningen är god i arbetsutrymmet. Sörj för god luftväxling vid dammande arbeten.
Använd aldrig elektriska maskiner/verktyg där de kan förorsaka brand eller explosion!
3. Undvik elektrisk chock. Undvik kroppskontakt med jordade föremål som vattenledning, element, köksspis
etc. samtidigt som du använder elmaskiner/verktyg.
4. Håll undan barn och besökare. Alla barn och besökare bör befinna sig på säkerhetsavstånd från
elmaskiner/verktyg och elkablar i arbetsutrymmet.
5. Förvara maskinerna barnsäkert. Förvara elmaskiner/verktyg inlåsta eller utom räckhåll för barn
när de inte används!
6. Pressa inte maskinen. Den gör jobbet bättre och säkrare med avsedd matningshastighet.
7. Använd rätt verktyg. Pressa inte ett verktyg eller en tillsats att göra ett arbetsmoment som
den inte är gjord för.
8. Bär lämplig klädsel. Inga löst sittande kläder, vantar, halsband, ringar, armband eller andra smycken som
kan fastna i roterande delar. Halksäkra skor rekommenderas. Bär hårnät (motsv.) om du har långt hår.
9. Bär alltid skyddsglasögon. Bär alltid skyddsglasögon, vanliga glasögon räcker inte! Använd också
dammfilter eller skyddsmask vid dammande arbeten.
10. Använd utsug. Använd utsugningsutrustning för att ta bort och samla damm och spån, om maskinen
är avsedd för det. Se till att utrustningen används på rätt sätt och töms vid behov.
11. Misshandla inte nätsladden. Bär aldrig maskinen i nätsladden. Ryck inte i sladden, utan dra i stickproppen när du tar ur kontakten. Se till att nätsladden inte kommer i kontakt med värme, olja eller
vassa kanter.
12. Sätt fast ämnet ordentligt. Använd tvingar eller skruvstycke där det går, då kan du hantera verktyget
med två händer. Det är säkrare än att hålla fast ämnet med ena handen.
13. Sträck dig inte för långt. Se till att du hela tiden står säkert med god balans.
14. Håll verktygen i trim. Se till att de är rena och eggarna vassa för optimal effekt och ett säkert resultat.
Följ manualens rekommendationer för smörjning och byte av tillbehör. Kontrollera nätsladden regelbundet,
om den är skadad ska den bytas av en kvalificerad servicetekniker. Syna alla skarvsladdar regelbundet så
att de inte är skadade. Se till att maskinens/verktygets handtag och reglage är torra, rena och helt fria från
olja, fett etc.
15. Slå av strömmen. Dra ur stickproppen och tryck in nödstopp, före service och vid byte av tillbehör som
hyvelstål, borrar, skär, slipband och blad.
16. Ta bort alla nycklar och serviceverktyg! Gör det till en vana att kontrollera att alla nycklar och
serviceverktyg är borttagna från maskinen innan du slår på strömmen.
17. Undvik oavsiktlig start. Bär inte ett verktyg med ett finger på strömbrytaren/avtryckaren om sladden
sitter i ett uttag. Se till att strömbrytaren står på OFF när du sätter in stickproppen.
18. Använd rätt skarvsladdar. Om du använder skarvsladdar utomhus, använd endast de som är avsedda
för utomhusbruk. Använd skarvsladdar med tillräcklig ledararea, rulla ut hela sladden!
19. Använd sunt förnuft och var försiktig. Tänk efter innan du utför ett arbetsmoment, så att du kan utföra
det på ett säkert sätt! Använd inte maskinen/verktyget när du är trött, påverkad av mediciner etc.

20. Kontrollera att alla delar är oskadade. Kontrollera innan du startar verktyget, att alla skydd och övriga
delar är oskadade och fyller sin funktion, att rörliga delar kan rotera fritt och är rätt inriktade, att inga rörliga
delar kan fastna, att ingen defekt uppstått och andra omständigheter som kan påverka arbetets utförande.
Ett skydd eller någon annan del som skadats, skall repareras fackmässigt eller bytas ut. Skadade
nätsladdar och strömbrytare ska alltid bytas ut av fackman. Använd aldrig verktyget om du inte kan stänga
av eller starta det på ett betryggande sätt.
21. Använd rekommenderade tillbehör. Användning av ej rekommenderade tillbehör kan vålla olyckor eller
risk för personskada.
22. Repareras endast av kvalificerad tekniker. Verktyget överensstämmer med gällande säkerhetskrav.
Reparationer av verktyget ska alltid utföras av fackman, med originalreservdelar, annars kan verktyget
vålla olyckor eller risk för personskada.

23. Elverktyg bör anslutas till elnätet via en jordfelsbrytare för personskydd. Produkten får inte ändras eller
användas till arbetsmoment som den inte är avsedd för! Kontrollera regelbundet att alla skruvar och muttrar
är ordentligt åtdragna.
1.2 Särskilda säkerhetsinstruktioner för bandslip
• Ställ maskinen stabilt på ett fast och vågrätt underlag med god plats för manövrering.
• Tänk efter hur du ska hålla ämnet från början till slutet av slipningen. Se till att du inte råkar ut för bakåtkast
eller hugg när ämnet hugger fast i slipband eller sliprondell och slits ur händerna.
• Vid slipning mot sliprondell ska du alltid trycka ämnet mot rondellens nedåtgående sida. Om du slipar mot
den uppåtgående sidan kan ämnet börja klappra eller slitas ur händerna.
• Avståndet mellan band/disk och anhåll får aldrig överstiga 2 mm.
• För att undvika brand: Håll maskinen ren från slipdamm.
• Vid slipning av metallytor kan gnistor eller heta partiklar vålla eldsvåda. Undvik det genom att:
• Koppla bort ev. sugslang till spånsäck.
• Blåsa ren maskinen från allt slipdamm ut- och invändigt.
• Avlägsna alla metallpartiklar före återgång till slipning av trä.
• Använd bandslipmaskinen på torr plats inomhus med skydd mot regn. Se till att arbetsområdet är väl belyst.
• Placera slipmaskinen i ett sådant läge att varken användare eller åskådare måste stå i linje med slipbandet
eller sliptallriken.
• Ta bort allt utom ämne och anhåll från slipbordet innan du slår på strömmen.
• Undvik bakvända arbetsmoment och handställningar där en plötslig halkning skulle få fingrar eller
händer att komma i beröring med slipytan. Ha inga fingrar i närheten där bandet går in i spånstosen
(anslutningen för sugslangen).
• Håll ansiktet och kroppen åt sidan, ur vägen för eventuella bakåtkast.

3. Montering och förberedelser
Varning! Kontrollera alltid att nätsladdens stickpropp är utdragen ur eluttaget innan montering
eller annan form av service/justering på maskinen.
Slipband och sliprondell har monterats på fabriken.
3.1 Montera/byt sliprondell (bild 3)
1. Dra ur maskinens stickpropp.
2. Ta bort det ställbara slipbordet.
3. Lossa de 2 skruvarna som håller fast skyddet (14)

och ta bort skyddet.
4. Ta bort den gamla sliprondellen.
5. Ta bort skyddspapperet från den nya
sliprondellen.
6. Placera den nya sliprondellen mot sliptallriken, se
till att den centrerar. Tryck fast sliprondellen hårt.
7. Skruva fast skyddet (14) igen.

3.2 Montera/byt slipband (bild 4, 5, 6)
1. Dra ur maskinens stickpropp.
2. Skruva loss anhållet (3).
3. För frigöringshandtaget ((6) på bild 4) i pilens
riktning för att frigöra den medlöpande rullen så
att slipbandet går att lossa.
4. Skruva loss de 2 skruvarna ((16) på bild 5) på
båda sidor om bandstativet (10). Ta bort det övre
skyddet ((17) på fig. 5).
5. Skruva loss de 4 skruvarna ((18) på bild 5) på
båda sidor om bandstativet (10). Ta bort det
nedre skyddet ((19) på bild 5).
6. Ta bort gummibufferten ((20) på bild 5).
7. Ta bort det gamla slipbandet från rullarna.
8. Montera slipbandet i rätt rotationsriktning.
Det nya slipbandet har en riktningspil på insidan
((21) på bild 6), slipbandet måste rotera i pilens
riktning. Se till att slipbandet är centrerat på båda
rullarna.
9. Montera gummibuffert, övre skydd och nedre
skydd. Dra åt skruvarna på sidan av bandstativet.
10. För frigöringshandtaget ((6) på bild 4) framåt för
att aktivera bandspänningen.
11. Justera sedan slipbandets spårning.

3.3 Montera slipbordet (bild 7, 8, 9)
1. Dra ur maskinens stickpropp.
2. Tryck in slipbordets styrtapp (längst upp på fästet)
i hålet på stativet.
3. Skruva fast låsratten ((7) på bild 7).
4. Justera slipbordet: Lossa de tre skruvarna
på undersidan av slipbordet (bild 9). Justera
slipbordet så att avståndet mellan slipband och
slipbord är högst 1 till 2 mm (bild 8). Dra åt de tre
skruvarna och låsratten.

Varning! Avståndet mellan slipband och slipbord får
vara högst 1 till 2 mm, annars finns risk att arbetsstycke eller finger fastnar mellan dem.
3.4 Använd slipbordet till bandslip (bild 10, 11)
1. Dra ur maskinens stickpropp.
2. Skruva bort anhållet (3).
3. Lossa låsskruven (9), vik upp bandstativet (10)
och dra åt låsskruven.
4. Tryck in slipbordets styrtapp (längst upp på fästet)
i hålet på stativet.
5. Skruva fast slipbordet med låsratten ((7) på bild 10).
6. Justera slipbordet: Lossa de tre skruvarna
på undersidan av slipbordet (bild 9). Justera
slipbordet så att avståndet mellan slipband
och slipbord är högst 1 till 2 mm. Dra åt de tre
skruvarna och låsratten.
Varning! Avståndet mellan slipband och slipbord
får vara högst 1 till 2 mm annars finns risk att
arbetsstycke eller finger fastnar mellan dem.
7. Justera det rörliga skyddet ((22) på bild 11) så att
det täcker slipbandet under slipbordet.
