2. Aansluitcomponenten

3. Switch installeren

3.1 Switch installeren voor gebruik op bureau of boekenplank

Als u de switch op een bureau of plank wilt zetten, plakt u de meegeleverde rubberen voetjes op de vier
hoeken aan de onderkant van de switch. Dit is nodig om voldoende ventilatieruimte te creëren tussen de
switch en het oppervlak waarop deze is geplaatst.

3.2 Switch installeren in een rack

De switch kan in een standaard 19" rack worden geplaatst. Zie de volgende afbeeldingen.

Bevestig de hoeksteunen met de meegeleverde schroeven aan de switch. Nadat de steunen stevig zijn
bevestigd, kunt u de switch in een standaard rack monteren, zoals aangegeven in de volgende afbeelding.

Let op:

Als u een systeem in een rack zet, kan het rack omvallen als er geen stabilisators aan de

voorkant en de zijkant zijn gemonteerd; dit kan tot schade leiden en onder bepaalde
omstandigheden lichamelijk letsel veroorzaken. Plaats dus altijd eerst de stabilisators voordat
u componenten in het rack zet. Wanneer een rack meer componenten bevat, moet u er nooit
meer dan één tegelijk uitschuiven over de geleiders. Door het gewicht van meer componenten
kan het rack omvallen wat tot lichamelijk letsel kan leiden.

3.3 Netsnoer aansluiten

Sluit het netsnoer aan op de lichtnetingang van de switch en doe de stekker in een stopcontact.
Wanneer de switch wordt aangezet, knipperen de lampjes even. Dit geeft aan dat het systeem wordt
gereset.

NB:

Verwijder bij stroomuitval de stekker van de switch uit het stopcontact. Sluit de switch weer op

het lichtnet aan wanneer er weer stroom is.

4. De SFP-poorten installeren

De Managed Web Smart Switches van Conceptronic zijn uitgerust met SFP (Small Form Factor Portable)
poorten waarop een transceiver voor optische glasvezelkabel kan worden aangesloten om een (lange­afstand) gigabitverbinding met andere netwerkapparaten te realiseren.

De SFP-poorten ondersteunen full-duplex gegevensuitwisseling, beschikken over automatische
onderhandeling en zijn geschikt voor gebruik met de volgende transceivers:

• INFINEON / V23818-K15-B57 (1000BASE-LX) 1310nm

• INFINEON / V23818-K305-B57 (1000BASE-SX) 850nm

• Finisar / FTRJ-1319-7D (1000BASE-LX) 1310nm

• CORETEK OPTO CT-0155TSP-MB5L (Single Mode 100BASE-FX) 1310nm

• CT-0155NSP-MB2L (Multi Mode 100BASE-FX) 1310nm

5. Switch aansluiten

5.1 Switch naar End Node

"End nodes" zijn onder meer pc's met een 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps RJ 45 Ethernet/Fast Ethernet netwerkkaart
(NIC) en de meeste routers. End nodes worden op de switch aangesloten via een UTP/STP kabel, categorie
3, 4 of 5 (twisted-pair). End nodes kunnen op alle poorten van de switch worden aangesloten.

NB:

Alle 10/100/1000 Mbps NWay Ethernet poorten ondersteunen zowel MDI-II als MDI-X verbindingen.

De Link/Act lampjes van elke UTP-poort lichten groen of amber op wanneer de verbinding in orde is. Als
een lampje knippert, worden er gegevenspakketten verzonden via de bijbehorende poort.

5.2 Switch naar hub of andere switch

Deze verbindingen kunnen op verschillende manieren worden gerealiseerd met normale kabels:

• Een 10BASE-T hub of switch kan op de switch worden aangesloten via een UTP/STP kabel, categorie 3,

4 of 5 (twisted-pair).

• Een 100BASE-T hub of switch kan op de switch worden aangesloten via een UTP/STP kabel, categorie 5

(twisted-pair).

• Een 1000BASE-T hub of switch kan op de switch worden aangesloten via een UTP/STP kabel, categorie

5e (twisted-pair).

• Een andere switch met ondersteuning voor glasvezelkabel kan op de SFP-poorten van de switch worden

aangesloten via een optische glasvezelkabel.

NB:

Wanneer een SFP-transceiver een verbinding legt, wordt de bijbehorende 10/100/1000 BASE-T

poort van de switch uitgeschakeld.

Wanneer de switch goed is geïnstalleerd, kunt u hem configureren, de status van de indicatielampjes
controleren en statistische informatie grafisch in beeld brengen met een internetbrowser. U kunt ook de
seriële aansluiting (RS-232) met een RS-232 crosskabel op een computer of terminal aansluiten om de
fabrieksinstellingen te herstellen.

2. Switch connection components

Below you will find a short description of the connection components of the switches.

CB100S24S

• 24x 10/100Mbps BASE-T ports.

• 2x SFP ports, located on the right side. **

• 4x 1000BASE-T ports, located on the right side. **

• 1x AC Power connection, located on the backside of the switch.

3. Switch installation

3.1 Installing the switch for desktop or shelf use

When installing the switch on a desktop or shelf, the rubber feet included with the switch should be
attached to the bottom. Attach these rubber feet on the bottom at each corner of the switch.
This will allow enough ventilation space between the switch and the surface the switch is placed on.

3.2 Installing the switch in a rack

The switch can be mounted in a standard 19" rack. Use the following images to guide you.

Fasten the mounting brackets to the switch using the screws provided. With the brackets attached
securely, you can mount the switch in a standard rack as shown in the next figure.

Warning:

Installing systems in a rack without the front and side stabilizers installed could cause the rack

to tip over, potentially resulting in bodily injury under certain circumstances. Therefore,
always install the stabilizers before installing components in the rack. After installing
components in a rack, do not pull more than one component out of the rack on its slide
assemblies at one time. The weight of more than one extended component could cause the
rack to tip over and may result in injury.

3.3 Connecting the AC power cable

Plug one end of the AC power cable into the power connector of the switch and the other end into a free
wall outlet.
After the switch is powered on, the LED indicators will momentarily blink. This blinking of the LED
indicators represents a reset of the system.

Note:

In the event of a power failure, unplug the switch. When power has resumed, plug the switch

back in.

4. Installing the SFP ports

The Conceptronic Managed Web Smart Switches are equipped with SFP (Small Form Factor Portable) ports,
which can be used with fiber-optical transceiver cabling, in order to uplink various other networking
devices for a gigabit link that may span great distances.

These SFP ports support full-duplex transmissions, have auto-negotiation and can be used with the
following tranceivers:

• INFINEON / V23818-K15-B57 (1000BASE-LX) 1310nm

• INFINEON / V23818-K305-B57 (1000BASE-SX) 850nm

• Finisar / FTRJ-1319-7D (1000BASE-LX) 1310nm

• CORETEK OPTO CT-0155TSP-MB5L (Single Mode 100BASE-FX) 1310nm

• CT-0155NSP-MB2L (Multi Mode 100BASE-FX) 1310nm

5. Connecting the switch

5.1 Switch to End Node

End nodes include PCs outfitted with a 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps RJ 45 Ethernet/Fast Ethernet Network
Interface Card (NIC) and most routers. An end node can be connected to the switch via a twisted-pair
Category 3, 4, or 5 UTP/STP cable. The end node should be connected to any of the ports of the switch.

Note:

All 10/100/1000Mbps NWay Ethernet ports can support both MDI-II and MDI-X connections.

The Link/Act LEDs for each UTP port will light green or amber when the link is valid. A blinking LED
indicates packet activity on that port.

5.2 Switch to hub or other switch

These connections can be accomplished in a number of ways using a normal cable:

• A 10BASE-T hub or switch can be connected to the switch via a twisted-pair Category 3, 4 or 5 UTP/STP

cable.

• A 100BASE-TX hub or switch can be connected to the switch via a twisted-pair Category 5 UTP/STP

cable.

• A 1000BASE-T switch can be connected to the switch via a twisted pair Category 5e UTP/STP cable.

• A switch supporting a fiber-optic uplink can be connected to the switch’s SFP ports via fiber-optic

cabling.

Note:

When the SFP transceiver acquires a link, the associated integrated 10/100/1000BASE-T port is

disabled.

After you have successfully installed the switch, you can configure the switch, monitor the LED panel, and
display statistics graphically using a web browser. Or, you can connect the RS-232 serial to a computer or
terminal with a crossover RS-232 cable for loading factory reset purpose.

3. Instalación del switch

3.1 Instalación del switch para su uso en un escritorio o en un estante

Cuando instale el switch en un escritorio o en un estante, deberá colocar y adherir las peanas de goma
que incluye el producto en la parte inferior de cada esquina del switch.
Así dejará suficiente espacio de ventilación entre el switch y la superficie sobre la que reposa.

3.2 Instalación del switch en un rack

El switch puede instalarse en un rack estándar de 19". Consulte la ilustración siguiente a modo de
orientación.

Ajuste los soportes de fijación al switch utilizando los tornillos que incluye el producto. Una vez fijados los
soportes de forma segura, podrá montar el switch en un rack estándar tal y como muestra la ilustración
siguiente.

Atención

: Instalar sistemas en un rack sin haber montado primero los estabilizadores frontal y lateral

podría hacer que el rack volcase y provocar lesiones en determinadas situaciones. Por tanto,
monte siempre los estabilizadores antes de instalar componentes en un rack. Una vez
instalados los componentes, no saque del rack más de un componente al mismo tiempo por las
juntas deslizantes. El peso de varios componentes de grandes dimensiones podría hacer que el
rack volcase y provocar lesiones.

3.3 Conectar el cable de alimentación AC

Enchufe uno de los extremos del cable de alimentación AC en un conector de alimentación del switch y el
otro extremo, a una toma libre de pared.
Una vez encendido el switch, los LEDs parpadearan unos instantes, lo cual indica que el sistema se está
reiniciando.

Nota

: En caso de que se produzca un corte de corriente, desenchufe el switch. Una vez recuperada la

corriente, vuelva a enchufarlo.

4. Instalación de los puertos SFP

Los conectores Web Smart Switches de Conceptronic están equipados con puertos SFP (Small Form Factor
Portable), que pueden utilizarse con cableado de fibra óptica del transceptor para realizar enlaces

ascendentes con otros dispositivos de red y obtener un enlace gigabit capaz de abarcar grandes distancias.

Estos puertos SFP son compatibles con transmisiones full-duplex, tienen autonegociación y pueden
utilizarse con los transceptores siguientes:

• INFINEON / V23818-K15-B57 (1000BASE-LX) 1310 nm

• INFINEON / V23818-K305-B57 (1000BASE-SX) 850 nm

• Finisar / FTRJ-1319-7D (1000BASE-LX) 1310 nm

• CORETEK OPTO CT-0155TSP-MB5L (modo individual 100BASE-FX) 1310 nm

• CT-0155NSP-MB2L (modo múltiple 100BASE-FX) 1310 nm
