Introduction

This guide covers upgrading the Eclipse Omega, Eclipse Median and Eclipse PiCo systems to Eclipse
HX-Omega, Eclipse HX-Median and Eclipse HX-PiCo respectively.

Note: If you are upgrading your PiCo to an HX-PiCo please contact your Clear-Com representative
to establish if your hardware is HX ready. If your PiCo hardware is not HX ready, then this is a
factory only upgrade.

GUIDE – P/N PUB-00047 – WHICH CAN BE FOUND ON THE ECLIPSE HX SYSTEM SOFTWARE
AND DOCUMENTATION USB AND DVD

Note:

This upgrade requires a competent engineer. Specialist tools and additional cables may
be required which are not supplied – see the Eclipse HX Upgrade Guide.

If there are any issues, please contact your local Clear-Com support office.

ECLIPSE HX-OMEGA and HX-MEDIAN UPGRADE STEPS

Carry out the following steps to upgrade your system

• Install EHX on your PC

• Install the door

• Apply the masking label to the back of the unit completely covering

o “ECLIPSE OMEGA” with “ECLIPSE HX-OMEGA” or
o “ECLIPSE MEDIAN” with “ECLIPSE HX-MEDIAN” or

• Change the CPU Card(s) PROM

• Chang the CPU Card(s) RAM

• Change the CPU Card(s) DIP switches to set the Matrix type

• Upgrade the CPU Card(s) application Code

• Upgrade the CPU Card(s) CPLD code

• Upgrade the MVX, IVC, E-QUE, LMC, E-FIB cards application and FPGA code

as appropriate

• Upgrade the V-Series panels using the TFTP method

• Upgrade the I-Station panels using the EHX method

ECLISPE HX-PICO UPGRADE STEPS

Note: If you are upgrading your PiCo to an HX-PiCo please contact your Clear-

Com representative to establish if your hardware is HX ready. If your PiCo
hardware is not HX ready, then this is a factory only upgrade.

Carry out the following steps to upgrade your system

• Install EHX on your PC

• Apply the masking label to the back of the unit completely covering

o “ECLIPSE PICO” with “ECLIPSE HX-PICO”

• Change the Eclipse HX-PiCo PROM

• Upgrade the Eclipse HX-PiCo RAM

• Change the Eclipse HX-PiCo DIP switches to set the Matrix type

• Upgrade the Eclipse HX-PiCo application Code

• Upgrade the Eclipse HX-PiCo MVX boot and/or application code

• Upgrade the V-Series panels using the TFTP method

• Upgrade the I-Station panels using the EHX method
