BOUTINSTALLATION
Installation of mobile audio and video components requires experience with a variety of mechanical and electrical proce­dures. Even though this manual provides general installation and operation instructions for your new Clarion WH200 Dual Channel Infrared Headphones, it does not show the exact installation methods for your particular vehicle.
If you do not have the required knowledge and experience to successfully complete the installation, we strongly recom­mend consulting an authorized Clarion Pro Audio dealer about professional installation options.

NTRODUCTION
The Clarion WH200 is a full-featured Dual Channel Infrared Headphone System specifically created for the mobile envi­ronment. The WH200 frees you from the tangle of head­phone wires and lets you enjoy music or TV audio without the clutter of cables. To ensure the best performance of your system, please read this manual carefully .
When used with the enclosed pair of individual headphones, the system allows independent source selection of two audio channels (ex: audio or video sources), each capable of play­ing a different high-fidelity stereo program. Each headphone allows for independent volume and source selection to pro­vide individual and private listening.

Additional Headphones
The Clarion WH200 allows users to take full advantage of the benefits of infrared audio transmission and its ability to oper­ate multiple headphones from one single transmitter. There is no need for Y-adapters, complex installation, or concerns over electrical overload. Additional headphones,WH200H, are available through your local Clarion Audio Dealer.

POWER Switch Main power switch turns headphone power off to prevent accidental micro switch activation during storage.

POWER Indicator
When illuminated the headphones are fully functional. The indicator will turn off when the headphones are removed or when the power switch is turned off.

CHANNEL SELECTION A/B Switch Allows user to choose the audio source.

VOLUME Control Allows user to set individual listening levels.

BATTERY Compartment Remove the cover and place 2 Alkaline AAA batteries in the compartment. (See page 5 for information).

MICRO Switch Turns the headphones ON when placed on the user’s head and turns OFF the headphones when removed.

ATTERYINSTALLATION
1. Open the battery compartment by sliding the cover toward the bottom of the Headphone.
2. Place two (2) alkaline AAA batteries into the battery compartment of the Headphones, making sure that the battery polarity is correct.
3. Snap the battery cover back into place.

PERATIONDESCRIPTION
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE HEADPHONES OR YOUR EARS.
1. Be sure batteries are properly installed in the Headphones.
2. Turn the Headphone volume nearly off before turing on the power switch.
3. Turn the Headphone power switch to the ON position.
4. Place the headphones on your head and the power indica­tor will illuminate.
5. Adjust the Headphone volume to a comfortable listening level.
Channel A/B Selection Switch
1. Select the appropriate channel (A/B) for the desired audio source signal.
NOTE: Remove headphones and lower volume before switch­ing between channels. The signal on one channel may be louder than the other, resulting in possible hearing damage.

PERATIONPRECAUTIONS
:
Do not allow liquids or foreign objects to enter the WH200 IR Transmitter or Headphones.
If any unit should become wet, turn off all power and let your authorized Clarion Pro Audio dealer clean or service the equipment.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN OR SERVICE THE IR TRANSMITTER OR HEADPHONES. THE INTERNAL PARTS ARE NOT USER-SERVICEABLE. DOING SO WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.
Do not drop or excessively jar the WH200 headphones.
Do not use liquid cleaners on any surfaces. Only use a
soft (cotton or other non-static) cloth to wipe off finger­prints.
Do not subject the unit to direct sunlight or an extremely
hot environment (e.g., closed windows on a hot summer day , direct path of heater vent, etc.).
Avoid using the products under the following conditions:
– After extended parking on an extremely hot or cold day – Near strong magnetic fields – In an environment with excessive humidity , dust, or
vibration (e.g., off-road travel, etc.)

NSTALLATIONPRECAUTIONS
This unit operates on an automotive 12-volt negative ground power source and requires additional mobile audio and video components for proper operation.
Before installation, disconnect the (–) negative lead from the vehicle’s battery.
Use only supplied screws and hardware. Make sure all connections and components are fastened securely .
At the proposed installation sites, make sure there is ade­quate space to accommodate the WH200 IR Transmitter (see Mounting on page 7).
Use extreme caution when drilling around electrical wiring, brake lines, and fuel lines. Check clearances on both sides of a planned installation surface before drilling

any holes or installing any screws.
Always wear protective eyewear when using tools.
Use only high-quality RCA cables that are no longer than necessary . Extra-length audio and video cables can cause signal loss and act as an “antenna” for noise.
When routing RCA cables, keep them away from power cables and output speaker wires.
If a fuse needs replacement, use the same value as the original. Do not substitute another rating.

Headphone indicator illu­minated but no sound.
Check Battery and Ground wiring at tran­mitter.
Power wires not connected.
No power indi­cator on head­phone.
Insert (2) Alkaline AAA batteries into headphone.

This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interfer­ence will not occur in a particular installation.
If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be verified by turning the unit off and on, the user is encouraged to consult the dealer or an experienced radio/television technician for help.
