This preface describes who should read the Processor Installation Guide, how it is
organized, and its document conventions.
Cisco documentation and additional literature are available in a CD-ROM package, which

Who Should Read This Guide
To use this guide, you should be familiar with electroniccircuitry and wiring practices and
have experience as an electronic or electromechanical technician.
This guideprovides informationspecific to initialinstallation of theATM switch processor
(ASP) and multiservice switch route processor (MSRP), which are referred to generically
as the processor card. ASP and MSRP are supported in the following systems:
• Catalyst 8510 MSR
• Catalyst 5500 switch
• LightStream 1010 ATM switch

CCO serves a wide variety of users through two interfaces that are updated and enhanced
simultaneously: a character-based version and a multimedia version that resides on the
World Wide Web (WWW). The character-based CCO supports Zmodem, Kermit,
Xmodem, FTP, and Internet e-mail,and it is excellent for quick access to information over
lower bandwidths. The WWW version of CCO provides richly formatted documents with
photographs, figures, graphics, and video, as well as hyperlinks to related information.
