Changing the transmitter batteries

To remove the battery cover, slide in the
direction of the arrow (downward) whilst
lightly pushing the finger mark. When
inserting batteries always insert the negative
end first observing the correct polarity as
stamped in the battery case. If the
transmitter voltage indicator fails to register,
check the contacts, (especially the negative)
and recheck that batteries are fitted correctly.
Also make sure the batteries are fully
charged.

Used correctly, domestic batteries are a
safe and dependable source of portable
power. Problems can occur If they are
misused or abused - resulting in leakage or,
in extreme cases, fire or explosion.

Here are some simple guidelines to safe
battery use designed to eliminate any such
problems.

Store unused batteries in their packaging
and away from metal objects which may
cause a short-circuit resulting in leakage or,
in extreme cases, fire or even an explosion

Never attempt to recharge ordinary
batteries, either in a charger or by applying
heat to them. They may leak, cause fire or
even explode. There are special
rechargeable batteries which are clearly
marked as such.

Take care to fit your batteries correctly,
observing the plus and minus marks on the
battery and appliance. Incorrect fitting can
cause leakage or, in extreme cases, fire or
even an explosion.

Remove dead batteries from equipment and
all batteries from equipment you know you
are not going to use for a long time.
Otherwise the batteries may leak and cause
damage.

batteries themselves in order to ensure
these guidelines are followed.

Replace the whole set of batteries at one
time, taking care not to mix old and new
batteries or batteries of different types,
since this can result in leakage or, in

ATTACHING THE TAIL UNIT

ASSEMBLING THE WINGS

For reasons of transportation the tail assembly is
not mounted when supplied. First of all, connect
the servos for the horizontal and vertical stabilisers
and tuck the cable away.
To glue them together, you need to apply
superglue to one side, and activator to the other. If
you only use superglue you will have to hold the
parts in the correct position for significantly longer
than usual. Oil the hinge at the shaft lightly so that
it stays moveable. The gluing surface must remain
clean. Secure the horizontal stabiliser followed by
the vertical stabiliser, taking care to position
them at a right angle. Check that the
tail assembly functions by operating
the transmitter.
If horizontal and vertical are
reversed on the transmitter, pull the
plugs in channels 1 and 2 out and
plug them back in the opposite way round.

The wings of the Skydreamer are not attached
for ease of transportation. Carbon fibre
wing spar tubes hold them in position by the
frictional and restraining force of the Elapor.
Push the wings onto the tube using a gentle

The Skydreamer can be converted using the
Aileron Conversion Kit on wings with functioning
ailerons, which is of particular interest to
experienced model fliers. This makes controllability
more versatile and more precise; however the
added function does require more attention during
operation.
The conversion kit contains the left and right wing
each with a ready built-in microservo and cable of
appropriate length. Procedure for fitting:

- Do not push the wings fully onto the carbon
spar.

- Feed both servo cables through to the receiver

- Finally push the wings into the fuselage.

- Push the plug servo cable plug firmly into the Y
cable.

- Plug the Y cable into slot 4 of the receiver,
checking for the correct direction.

- Check for correct operation; if the aileron
moves in the wrong direction change the servo
reverse switch for channel 4.
