Battery Pack Handling Precautions
DANGER!Treat the battery pack with care.
•Keepit away fromfire(or it might explode).
•Do not expose the battery pack totemperature higher than 60°C (140 °F). Do not leaveit near aheater or inside a car in hot weather.
•Do not try to disassemble or modify it.
•Donot dropor knock it.
•Do not get it wet.
Charged battery packscontinue to discharge naturally. Therefore, chargethem on the
day of use, or the day before, to ensure a full charge.
Attachthe terminalcoverwhenever a battery pack is not in use. Contact to metallic
objects may cause a short circuit and damage the battery pack.
Dirty terminals may cause a poorcontact between the battery packand the camcorder.
Wipe the terminals with a softcloth.
Sincestoring a charged batterypack for a longtime (about 1 year) can shortenits
lifecycle or affect performance, we recommend to discharge the battery pack fully and to store it in a dry place at temperatures no higherthan 30°C (86°F). If you do not use the battery pack forlong periods, chargeanddischargeit fullyat least once a year. Ifyouhave more than1battery pack, perform these precautions at the same timefor allbattery packs.
Although the battery pack’soperating temperature range isfrom 0°C to 40 °C (32 °F
to 104 °F),the optimal range is from10 °C to30 °C (50 °F to86°F). At coldtemperatures, performance willtemporarily decline. Warm itin yourpocketbefore use.
Replace the battery pack if the usable time after full charge diminishes substantially at
normal temperatures.
About the batteryterminal cover
The battery terminal cover has a []-shaped hole. This is usefulwhen you wish to differentiatebetween charged and uncharged battery packs. For example, with chargedbattery packs, attach theterminal cover so that the []-shaped holeshows theblue label.
