Additions and Corrections
for the Basic Guide, Facsimile Guide and
Set-Up Instructions for the Machine
Please note the following additions and corrections for the pages listed below in each
manual.
Basic Guide
■P.2-22
"The Number of Output Sheets" of "face down" for "Plain Paper" and "Recycled Paper"
should be corrected as follows:

The following IMPORTANT statement should be added:
IMPORTANT
When you make copies immediately after connecting the power cord, the print
quality may deteriorate. Make copies after making sure the sound of machine
operation stops.

The following statements should be added in "Adjusting the Color Balance" section:
Please refer to this note when you use the color balance setting for color-copy.
Note : Adjustment on the monotone area have an instant effect on your imaging.

• When you make copies immediately after replacing a toner cartridge, the print
quality may deteriorate. Make copies after making sure the sound of machine
operation stops.
• When <INSERT * CARTRIDGE> still appears in the LCD after inserting a cartridge, disconnect and connect the power cord.

Please refer to the following IMPORTANT statement before performing the step 5 on p.5:
IMPORTANT
When you install the toner cartridge "BLACK," follow the steps below:
1 Close the cartridge cover and lower the scanning platform.
2 Press [Menu] on the operation panel
z ; or : to select <10.MAINTENANCE> on the LCD z press [Set].
3 Press ; or : to select <1.CHANGE CARTRIDGE> z press [Set]
z <1.BLACK> z [Set].
4 Lift the scanning platform and open the cartridge cover z install the cartridge.
c Coded Dial key
Press [Coded Dial], followed by a two-digit
code to dial fax/telephone number registered
for coded speed dialing.
d Directory key
Enables you to search for fax/telephone
numbers by the name under which they are
registered for speed dialing, and then use
the number for dialing.
