Upgrading the new type Boot Rom

Detail:

Since this information is on a critical control part, it needs to be controlled as an item of utmost importance, attention
should be paid.

For reasons of procurement, the manufacturer of the Boot Rom is changed. Along with this change, the upgrading
operation is also changed.

For existing versions of System Software (i.e., any versions earlier than version 11.05), check the manufacturer of
the Boot Rom (Device ID) at time of upgrade in Normal Mode (download Mode B). Carry on the upgrade process
only for the Boot Roms from the old manufacturer. In short, the ROMs from the new manufacturer (FM3-0485-000)
cannot be upgraded in Normal Mode.

When performing upgrade using SST, the version is not upgraded although "OK" is displayed on the SST screen.

Normal Mode: accessed by holding down the numeric keys "1" and "7" simultaneously for a while.

In order to upgrade a new Boot Rom in Normal Mode, upgrade System Software to version 11.05 and then deactivate
the Boot Rom manufacturer (Device ID) check function.

The old type Boot Rom has the Silk notation of "FK2-0723" [B] on the PCB, while the new type has the notation of
"FK2-0738."

Service work:

When upgrading the Boot Rom, execute with one of the options indicated below:

- Upgrade the System Software (version 11.05) first and then upgrade the Boot Rom.

- When the System Software version is old, upgrade the Boot Rom in the Safe Mode (download Mode A) by pressing
the numeric keys "2" and "8" simultaneously.
