<Symptom>
In printing or copying, the following kinds of faulty images are printed: image with the upper and lower parts
put in the other way around (P-1), image with changed color tone (P-2), and image with no margin at the leading
and trailing edges.

<Cause>
The reflecting surface [A] on the inner surface of the transfer belt is displaced, preventing the ITB home position
signal from being detected at the correct time. The degree of displacement of the reflecting surface [A] and the
type of job (i.e., the type of paper used, the number of copies specified, etc) at that time cause the symptom.

<Factory Measures>
Change the size of the reflecting surface from 15 mm X 27 mm to 15 mm X 40 mm, and widen the area of the
adhesive bonding to prevent the surface from becoming displaced.
Service Work:
When the foregoing symptom occurs, replace the transfer belt by a new type.
