EOS 60Da DIGITAL SLR CAMERA

A DSLR optimized for astrophotography, Canon’s
EOS 60Da, the successor to the wildly popular EOS
20Da, is designed for astronomers, photographers
and hobbyists who want to capture the beauty
of the night sky. Engineered to ensure accurate
depictions of the reddish hues when photographing
diffuse nebulae and other cosmic phenomena with
increased sensitivity at the hydrogen-alpha (Ha)
wavelength (656nm), the camera also features the
same advances of the EOS 60D DSLR, including a
Vari-angle 3.0-inch Clear View LCD monitor for Live
View compositions, an amazing 18.0 Megapixel
CMOS sensor, an ISO range of 100-6400 (expandable
to 12800) and more. A newly bundled Remote
Controller Adapter RA-E3 allows compatibility with
the optional Timer Remote Controller TC-80N3.
Key Features
•
Increased spectral sensitivity for astrophotography,
IR cut filter is modified to achieve three times the
hydrogen-alpha (Ha) sensitivity of the EOS 60D,
allowing crisp, clear images of reddish, diffuse nebulae.

18.0 Megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor, ISO 100-6400;
expandable to ISO 12800(H) and high performance
-4 Image Processor for exceptional image
quality and low noise.

Vari-angle 3.0-inch Clear View LCD monitor (3:2) with
approximately 1,040,000 dots delivers comfortable
shooting at high or low angles and detailed focusing
during Live View astrophotography.
The EOS 60Da DSLR is not suitable for normal shooting; proper color balance may not be obtained.

The EOS 60Da features a modified IR filter and a low-noise
sensor with heightened hydrogen-alpha sensitivity.
Compatible with Canon’s extensive family of EF
and EF-S lenses and select EOS accessories.

1) Self Cleaning Sensor Unit
· Removes dust adhering to low-pass filter.
· Self-cleaning executed automatically (taking about 2 sec.) when power is
turned on or off. Manual execution also possible (taking about 6 sec.).
· Low-pass filter has a fluorine coating.
(2) Dust Delete Data acquisition and appending
· The coordinates of the dust adhering to the low-pass filter are detected by a
test shot and appended to subsequent images.
· The dust coordinate data appended to the image is used by the provided
software to automatically erase the dust spots.

ability to connect a Canon
Timer Remote Control
such as the TC-80N3 (as
shown to the right).
AC ADAPTER KIT ACK-E6
Canon’s AC Adapter Kit ACK-E6, which
comes packaged with the EOS 60Da,
allows the camera to be powered through
an AC wall outlet or a battery-powered
inverter, ideal for long exposure image or
video capture at home or in the field.
OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES
TIMER REMOTE CONTROLLER TC-80N3
The optional TC-80N3 Timer Remote Control
is ideal for controlling time exposures longer
than 30 seconds as well as capturing a
series of consecutive time exposures that
can be composited during post-processing
for improved image quality. This is especially
useful when the camera body is connected to a
telescope (third-party accessories required) or
an EF super telephoto lens.
BATTERY GRIP BG-E9
The BG-E9 is an important option that can
greatly increase shooting time
Canon’s Battery Grips are an essential option for
professional photographers who travel with their
camera, shoot portraits, sports or work in-studio.
Battery Grips provide an optional power pack for EOS Cameras and allow
users to load one or two LP-E6 battery packs. With two packs or six AA
batteries, the already impressive battery life offers increased shooting
time. This is especially useful when taking advantage of the camera’s
Movie mode or Live View mode - operating modes that use more power.
Canon Battery Grips like the BG-E9 are also designed with a multicontroller, while all Battery Grips provide full vertical shooting controls
that can be turned on or off independently, as the photographer needs to
enhance camera handling, especially for shooting vertical pictures.
