Before using the Update Disc

First, read this

Before you run the Update Disc, be sure to follow the steps below. They make it quick and easy to set up your remote so you can enjoy movies and music right away.

Turn on your TV and leave it on as you follow these simple procedures.

Step A: Take note of your current setup

Step B: Use the disc

When you have filled in the blanks above, you are ready to run the Update Disc. Be sure to follow the instructions below to make the process smooth and easy.

1. On your Bose

2. Open the CD/DVD tray. (Press OPEN/CLOSE on your media

center).

3. Place the Update Disc in the CD/DVD tray.

4. Close the tray by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE button again.

The update should start automatically, and within a few seconds READING should appear on the media center display.

Note: If READING does not appear within 30 seconds after you close

During the update, various messages will appear on the display.

PLEASE WAIT – CHECKING may remain on the display for several minutes or longer. A system update will take approximately 10 minutes.

If at any time the display remains blank for more than 10 seconds, press the ON/OFF

Note: If an error message appears on the display, please record the

error code and call your local service center (see enclosed sheet).

The update is complete when this message appears on the display:

5. Press the OPEN/CLOSE button on your media center and remove

the disc.

Step C: Complete your remote setup

Here’s how to complete your remote setup for full functionality. Most of this will be familiar:

Benefits and suggestions

Updated control: With this update, you are now able to change channels on each separate component you watch: the TV when in TV source, your cable or satellite receiver when in CBL•SAT source, and the VCR when in VCR source.

Missing the audio? Increase the volume first to see if that is the problem. Then, if you hear no audio when you select CBL•SAT or VCR as the source, you need to check your connections. Make sure that the audio cables from your cable or satellite receiver are connected to the CBL/SAT Audio IN jacks and the audio cables from the VCR are connected to the VCR Audio IN jacks on the media center.

For cable or satellite connected to the TV Audio IN: In using your system before this update, you may have set it so you could watch the channels on your cable or satellite by simply pressing the button on your remote. In this case you also connected your cable or satellite to the TV Audio IN jacks on the back of the media center.

To re-establish this operation after running the Update Disc, you need to make one other change in the System menu options for Remote. Reset

Some codes have been removed and others have been added to provide better control of the components connected to your Bose system. If you have difficulty finding the right code, refer to Step A to see the codes you chose previously.
