Installation Requirements
Please read the instructions carefully so as to avoid any damage to the fixture.
1. To ensure this product is installed properly, you must read and follow these guidelines.
2. The owner/user of the valve must keep this information for future reference.
3. This Diverter valve includes integrated service stops. Make sure the tile guard is in place and secured firmly.

5. The supply lines must be flushed out to prevent clogging of the filter screens. Failure to flush the lines will permanently damage the cartridge and void the warranty.
Cleaners For Fittings And Accessories
To avoid damaging the surface and working components of the fittings, certain precautions must be taken in terms of usage and subsequent cleaning as many cleaning agents contain acids for general cleaning and removing calcium deposits. When caring for your fittings and accessories, please note the following:
- Only apply cleaners which are expressly intended for the use
- Never use any cleaner containing hydrochloric acid, formic acid or acetic acid on or near the fitting, as they can
cause considerable damage
- Do not use cleaners containing phosphoric acid
- Do not use cleaners containing chlorine bleach solutions
- Never mix or combine cleaning agents
- Abrasive cleaners and unsuitable scouring agents such as scouring pads

Rough-In Installation
1
Refer to illustration A for 811 series and illustration B for 821 series
• Make sure the valve body is positioned according to valve markings so the inlets are situated
with hot piped on the left and cold piped on the right (refer to illustration 1).
• IMPORTANT – Valve rough in depth is 1
5
8” – 21⁄8” (40-55mm) measured from the centerline of
the inlets to the surface of the finished wall.
• Run
1
2” (12.5mm) copper (or equivalent) supply lines to the proper height of the valve inlets and
be sure to secure all piping and fittings.
• Fittings for the diverter valve should be installed at the same rough in depth as the valve body.
The primary fitting water source is provided at the top of the valve with the diverter fitting supply provided at the bottom of the valve.
• Tile guard should remain fixed until tile is complete and trim is installed.
• Prior to tiling, Blu recommends that the valve be tested. Open the supply lines ensuring the
cartridge is closed and check all supply connections to the valve for possible leaks.
• Open the cartridge and test both the primary fitting and the diverter for any possible leaks. At
this time ensure smooth water flow occurs through both fittings.

811 Series Trim Installation
2
Refer to Fig. 1 & 2
• Blu recommends that a test fit of all trim pieces takes place prior to securing to the valve.
• Remove the mud guard (A) and slide the escutcheon cover plate (2) over the volume control
sleeve until the plate contacts the finished wall surface.
• Ensure the cover plate adequately covers the rough opening around the valve and that the foam
gasket fully bonds (360º) to the clean finished surface.
• Apply pressure to the escutcheon cover plate (2) ensuring a tight water-resistant connection
between the escutcheon plate (2) and the finished surface tightening the round PC threaded trim (3).
• Place volume control handle (5) onto the rough-in spindle (C) and ensure handle is in the proper
alignment orientation. Once aligned, screw the volume control handle (5) into the rough-in (C). Tighten with the grubbing screw (6).
• Fit the volume control lever, tightening the set screw (7) and lever (8).
