2.4 CONNECTO RS AND SLOTS
PCI1/PCI2: Peripheral Component Interconnec t Slots
This motherboard is equipped with 2 standard PCI slots. PCI stands for
Peripheral Component Interconnect, and it is a bus standard for
expansi on cards. T his PCI slot is designated as 32 bits.
IDE1: Hard Disk Connectors
The motherboard has a 32-bit Enhanced PCI IDE Controller that
provides PIO Mode 0~5, Bus Master, and Ul tra DMA 33/ 66/ 100
fun c tionality. It has two HDD connectors IDE1 (p rimary) and IDE2
(secondary).
The IDE connectors can connect a m aster and a sl ave drive, so you can
connect up to four hard disk drives. The first hard drive should always be
connected to IDE1.
FDD1: Floppy Disk Connector
The motherboard provides a standard floppy disk connector that
s uppor t s 360 K, 720K, 1.2 M, 1. 4 4 M a nd 2. 8 8 M f lo ppy d is k types. Th is
connector supports the provided floppy drive ribbon cables.
SATA1~SATA4: Serial ATA Connectors
The motherboard has a PCI to SATA Controller with 2 channels SATA
interface, i t satisfies the SATA 1.0 spec and with transfer rate of 1.5Gb/s.

PCI-EX: PCI-Extreme Slot
This PCI-EX (PCI-Extreme) slot is a speci al design for PCI-Express
(PC I-E ) inte rfa ce grap hic cards.
The PCI-EX slot is compliant with PCI-Express 1.0a specification, and
bandwidth of data transfer is up to 1GB/s per direction, for an aggregate
of 2GB/s total ly.
To install the system with an add-on PCI-E graphi c card, please make
sure to install the driver of add-on PCI-E graphic card before onboard
VGA dr iver i nstallat i on. If the on bo ar d VG A dr iver has a lready bee n
installed before you install the add-on PCI-E graphi c card, the system
will automatically set the onboard VGA as the primary graphics adapter.
For the onboard VGA driver can’t be removed com pletely, and to solve
this problem, please follow the steps below,
1. Disable onboard VGA utility under the operating system, and reboot
PC. After PC restarts, the system wi ll automatically set the PCI-E
graphic card as the m ain adapter.
2. Or, re-i nstall your operating system to ensure the PCI-E graphic
card function can be used.
Note:
Downward compatib ility to PCI-E x4 and PCI-E x1 extensi o n card.
