at the touch of a fo ot switch. Experience sounds fr om classic multi-stage p hasers to new swirling
up- and downward moving sounds.

(1) Select the eec t mode via the MODE switch:
4/8/10/12-stage: This determines the number of stages for the phaser eect. The sound varies
from vint age phaser sounds to deep and p owerful phasing ee cts.
FALL: This mode give s you the impression of a constantly falli ng phasing sound.
RISE: This mode sounds like a permanently rising phasing sound.
STEP: In this mode, th e lter modication occu rs up and down in dened ste ps.
(2) RES(onance) controls the intensity of the eect.
(3) With DEPTH you can set the modulation depth.
(4) RAT E determines the modulation speed. RATE can also be entered using the t ap function of the
foot switch or via an external expression pedal.
(5) Use the ¼" TS IN connector to plug in the ins trument cable.
(6) The ¼" TS OUT connector s ends the signal to your amp or other eect s devices.
(7) The ¼" TRS EX P/CTL connector can be used to connec t two dierent type s of pedals:
• Use a foot swi tch instead of the pedals’ fo ot switch (8) to tap the eect R ATE.
• Use an expression pedal to modulate the rate from 0 (modulation is stoppe d) to the maximum
value which is de termined by the position o f the RATE knob (4).

(8) Use the foot switch to activate/deact ivate the eect. When pressing the foot switch 2 s econds
or longer, you can tap in the eec t rate (ON/BATT LED ashes).
(9) The ON /BATT LED illuminates when the eect is activated. It also serves as a batter y
level indicator. If the Tap function is active, the LED ashes.
Use the DC IN connection to plug in a 9 V power supply (not included).
The BATTERY COMPARTMENT is located un derneath the pedal cover. To install or rep lace the 9 V battery
(not included), pres s the hinges with a ballpoint p en and remove the pedal cover. Be care ful not to scratch the uni t.
◊ The SP400 has no On/O switc h. It is operable as soon as you insert a plug into the
IN connec tor. Disconnect the plug, if you don’t use the SP400. In doing so, you can
extend the life time of the bat tery.
The SERIAL NUMBER is located at the underside.
◊ In rare cases interferences of the normal function may appear by external inuence
(e.g. electrostatic discharge), as for example sound disturbances or malfunctions.
If this occurs, please turn down the volume on subsequent amp liers and disconnect
the input connector briey to restart the application.
2. Safety Instructions
Do not use near water, or install near heat s ources. Use only authorize d attachments/accessories.
Do not service produc t yourself. Contact our qualied servicing personnel for servicing or rep airs,
especially w hen power supply cord or plug is damaged.
