BASS SYNTHESIZER BSY600
Ultimate B ass Synthesizer Ee cts Pedal
Thank you for show ing your condence in us by purchasing the BEHRINGER BA SS SYNTHESIZER BSY600. This high-quality e ects pedal reproduces the fat an d powerful sound of classic analog synthesizer s— at the touch of a fo otswitch.
1. Controls
(1) The DIRECT control adjusts the level of the
direct, unaected signal.
synthesizer eect signal.
(3) The RES(onance) control adjusts the
strength of the low-pass lter frequency peak (see below).
(4) The FREQ(uenc y) control adjusts the
low-pass/allpass lter frequency which cuts the high-frequencies and therefore determines the upper and lower limit of the frequency range the lter moves along.
(5) The DECAY/RATE control has 2 dierent
functions. Depending on the MODE switch position (see below) it adjust s either the LFO speed that modulates the amplitude of the lter frequency (RATE: mode 3 and 6 only) or sets the time over which the lter frequenc y moves (DECAY). When the decay time is set to MAX, the cut-o lter f requency is xed.
(6) Use the MODE switch to dial up one of 11 synthesizer modes with 4 dierent waveforms.
1. SAW (sawto oth wave that produces sharp -edged sound)
2. SAW (sawtooth wave one octave lower than mode 1)
3. SAW (sawtooth wave with auto matic lter frequenc y shifting)
4. SQUARE (square wave that produces milder sound than the sawtooth modes)
5. SQUARE (similar to mode 4 with additional sq uare wave one octave below)
6. SQUARE (square wave with automati c lter frequency shif ting)
7. PULSE (pulse wave that produces sharp-edged sound diere nt from sawtooth mod es)
8. PULSE (pulse wave with all- pass lter for more depth and motion)
9. PULSE (pulse w ave with pulse width modulat ion for fat, spre ading sound)
10. WAVE (input signal is directly transf ormed to a synthesizer sound. Filter rises when string is played and returns gradually)
11. WAVE (similar to mode 10, but lter drops when st ring is played and returns gr adually)
(7) The ON/ BATT LED illuminates when the eec t is activated and ashes when the PITCH HOLD
function is active (see below). It also ser ves as a battery level indicator.
(8) Use the foot switch to activate/deac tivate the eect. Keeping the foot switch depressed will
activate the PITCH HOLD function (modes 1 - 9 only) that causes the unit to output the eect signal continuously, even if the bass is not played at this moment (ON/BATT LED ashes). You can also play the bass while keeping the footswitch pressed and mix the continuously output eect signal with the direct bass signal. Release the foot switch to deactivate this function.
(9) Use this ¼" TS IN connector to plug in the ins trument cable. (10) The two ¼" TS OUT and DIR OUT connec tors send the signal to your amp. Use both connectors i f
you want to separ ate the unprocessed input signal (> DIR OUT) and the synthesized signal (> OUT). To mix both signals together use OUT only.

(11 ) Use the ¼" TRS EXP(ression) connector to connec t an expression pedal. This way you can ex ternally
control the movement of the lter frequenc y (DECAY) or—for mode 3 and 6—the sp eed of the eect (R ATE). When using an expression pedal the DECAY/RATE control determines the max. value (expression pedal fully pressed).
Use the DC IN connection at the front of the unit to plug in a 9 V power supply (not included).
The BATTERY COMPARTMENT is located underneath the pedal cover. To install or replace the 9 V battery, press the hin ges with a ballpen and remove th e pedal cover. Be careful not to sc ratch the unit.
The BSY600 has no on/o switch. As soon as yo u insert the plug into the in connector,
the BSY600 begins running. When not u sing the BSY600, remove the plug from the in connec tor. This extends the li fe of the battery.
The SERIAL NUMBER is located at the underside.
In rare cases interferences of the normal function may appear by external inuence
(e.g. electrostatic discharge), as for example sound disturbances or malfunctions. If this occurs, please turn down the volume on subsequent ampliers and disconnect the input connector briey to restart the application.
2. Safety Instructions
