I. Preface

HSI Self Test software is an IP camera functionality test tool in order to check the compatibility between IP cameras and AVers surveillance products.

II. Before Starting

For test accuracy, please do the following setup on IP camera before starting HSI SelfTest software operation.
Adjusting the image setup of IP camera. Make sure the multi-profile function is enabled. Make sure the motion detection function is enabled. Make sure the PTZ function is enabled.

III. Run the HSI SelfTest Software

The HSI SelfTest software is operated on Windows system only. To run the HSI SelfTest software, double-click HSI_SelfTest.exe” and the HSI SelfTest software main window will show up.

IV. Familiarizing Functions of HSI SelfTest Software

(1) Language
Language selection of HSI SelfTest software– English or Tradition Chinese.
(2) Info
Copy right and version information.
(3) Storage path
The save path of result log file. Click button to change the save path.

(4) Select IP Camera
To call out IP camera searching dialog box. The found IP cameras via ONVIF search in LAN will be displayed in IP camera searching dialog box. Click Searching button to start search.
(5) IP Address/User
Name/Password
Three fields of IP Address, User Name, and Password for the inputs of the IP address, the user name, and the password of IP camera which is selected for testing.
(6) Video display area
Display the image video when Image Test is testing and display the first profiles image video when Multi-Profile is testing.
(7) Start Testing
Click it to start test process.
(8) Search Test
Display the IP cameras brand name, model, and F/W version of the selected IP camera.
(9) Image Test
Display the test result of the first stream.
(10) PTZ Test
Display the test result of PTZ function.
(11) Motion Event Test
Display the test result that whether the current ONVIF of AVer can detect the motion function of IP camera or not.
(12) Setting Test
Display the test result of image configuration for the first stream.
(13) Multi-Profile Test
Display each test result of 3 profiles.
(14) Multi-Setting Test
Display test result of multi-setting.
(15) Result File is saved as
Display the storage path and file name of the result log file.

V. Using HSI Self Test Software

Auto search IP camera

Using Select IP Camera button to search IP cameras and select IP camera to do the testing.
1. Run HSI SelfTest software (double-click HSI_SelfTest.exe file)
2. In the HSI SelfTest software window, click Select IP Camera button to call out IP camera searching dialog box.
3. Next, click Searching button to start search IP cameras that can be found on your LAN network.

4. When search is done, IP cameras are listed in IP camera searching dialog box.

When Motion Event Test is testing, please do some movement in front of IP camera to trigger the motion function.

When Motion Event Test is testing, please do some movement in front of IP camera to trigger the motion function.
5. Select the IP camera for testing, and then click OK button to back to HSI SelfTest software window.
6. Enter User Name and Password of the selected IP camera.
7. Click Start Testing button to begin testing.
8. The testing may take some time, please be patient and wait. When the testing is done, the result log file will be saved in the save path displayed in Result File is saves as field.
9. After testing, please send the result log file back to AVer Info Inc.

By IP address

Enter the IP address of IP camera to do the testing.
1. Run HSI SelfTest software (double-click HSI_SelfTest.exe file).
2. In the HSI SelfTest software window, enter IP Address, User Name, and Password of the selected IP camera.
3. Then, click Start Testing button to begin testing.
4. The testing may take some time, please be patient and wait. When the testing is done, the result log file will be saved in the save path displayed in Result File is saves asfield.
5. After testing, please send the result log file back to AVer Info Inc.

VI. Meaning of Result

Color

The item passed the test.
Other text
The item passed the test and displays extra information.
Blue

The item is running on test.
Red
Fail
The item failed in test.
Fail(timeout)
The item is failed because of timeout.
Fail(not support)
The item is failed because some required information cant be obtained or IP camera does not support.
Gray
Waiting
This item is waiting for being tested.
Stop
The test process of the item is stopped
[Note]
1. If the test item is Pass, it can be integrated quickly.
2. If the test item displayed Fail or “Stop”, the item needs more time to be integrated.

VII. Meaning of Item Test Result

If the decision policy of the test item is test termination, the rest of items will display Stop status.

[Note] The motion function of IP camera must be enabled before testing. Please do some movement
in front of IP camera to activate motion function when motion test is running.

VIII. Test Example

The following lists some test example for your reference.
Example 1: Wrong inputs of User Name or Password
Description:
The Search Test is passed and displayed extra information of IP camera. IP camera: AVer FX3000-R/version 2.2.1057.58B The Image Test is Failed (timeout), it means no image video is obtained in 30 seconds. Please check the following item:
Make sure the User Name or Password is correct. Check the log file to find out the cause.
The rest of test items are stopped.

Example 2: Normal Test
2-1 Description:
The Search Test is passed and displayed the extra information of IP camera. The Image Test is testing and the video of IP camera is displaying. The rest of test items are waiting for being tested.

2-2 Description:
The PTZ Test and Motion Event Test are passed. The Setting Test is testing.

2-3 Description:
The Setting Test is passed. The Multi-Profile Test is testing. The first and the second profile are testing and the stream video of the first profile is
displayed in video display area.
IP camera does not support the third profile, therefore, the result displayed Fail(not
support) immediately.

2-4 Description:
The first profile and the second profile are passed in Multi-Profile Test.  The Multi-Setting Test is passed. The video is shutdown and test is completed. The test log file is saved and the save path
is displayed in Result File is saved as field.
