Ordering Guidelines and Procedures

3
Ordering information for the IP Phone 1110 is shown below. Like all IP Phone 1100 Series models, the IP Phone 1110
does not include a global power supply to support local powering - it is optional and must be ordered separately, if local powering is desired. The IP Phone 1100 Series global power supply is the same part that is now used with the IP Phone 2000 Series (introduced with RoHS models). This global power supply is backward compatible for non-RoHS IP Phone 2000 Series. Note that the 16VAC power supplies previously used with the IP Phone 2001, 2002, or 2004 can
not be used with the IP Phone 1100 Series models.
3 - Please note that due to the multiple languages supported in EMEA (as supported on the IP Phone display), the IP Phone 1100 Series only offers icon keycaps.

Important Information and Datasets for Deployments with CS 1000

Please review the following information and website links to ensure you have the most upto-date product information and datasets available for your IP Phone 1110 deployments.

IP Phone Firmware Upgrade Method – Communication System dependent

The IP Phone 1100 Series supports remote firmware upgrades through both a TFTP process and a more automated UFTP process direct from the CS 1000 Release 4.5 or later. The method to upgrade the IP Phone 1110 firmware depends on the call server software.
Communication Server 1000 Release 4.0 must use TFTP Communication Server 1000 Release 4.5 or later systems can use UFTP or TFTP
For more information on TFTP and UFTP firmware upgrade processes, please refer to the IP Phones Description, Installation and Operation Document 553-3001-368, listed under the IP Phone User Documentation heading below.

This process will obtain the new currency file from
www.nortel.com, and then allow you to see which
firmware files on your CS 1000 system have newer versions available. You can then choose to have the system download these newer versions and push the firmware files to the IP Phones.

Product Advisements

The following product issues are known to exist:
Local contrast adjustment and TPS contrast adjustment are not synchronized in current
CS1000 releases.
Translations are not present for all prompts. Some languages may show the English
version of the prompt instead of the prompt in the selected language. In some languages, some items within the Local Tools menu are truncated including the Network Configuration menu which does not present the full prompt in Dutch. These will be corrected in an upcoming FW build when translations are integrated from the localization team. The resolution of this issue is tracked through CR case number Q01548378
Potential DHCP option handling error is indicated on the display of the IP Phone,
although the IP phone accepts the DHCP settings and will work normally. Due to differences in specific DHCP server configuration options and responses, the IP Phone may display an error during set up, but continues with the set up, and the error message does not impact the functionality of the IP Phone. This issue is documented in CR case Q01588393.
