RATING PLATE:
UNIT RATING PLATE INCLUDING SERIAL NUMBER, MODEL NUMBER, REFRIGERATION
AND ELECTRICAL INFORMATION AND APPROUVAL LABELS ARE LOCATED IN THE
COMPRESSOR COMPARTMENT ON THE FRONT FRAME OF THE EQUIPMENT.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
1. Damage check: Check crate for possible damage incurred during shipping. After uncrating,
check for “concealed” damage. Report any damage immediately to your carrier.
2. The correct voltage/amperage/phase are indicated on the rating plate
3. Once the unit has been installed, verify that the temperature indicator displays the correct food
requirement temperature prior to use with food.
4. This unit includes a built-in evaporator pan and does not require any drain connection for
drainage of water from condensation water created by the evaporator fan during defrost cycle.
5. Digital temperature indicator also controls the temperature range of operation and defrost cycle
and has been factory set for optimum performance.
6. There is an installation clearances of 2”required behind the equipment or a ventilation must be
provided behind the compressor section to allow for the compressor to ventilate.
1
GENERAL INSTALLATION
1. If crated, carefully remove unit from the crate. The white protective adhesive material covering
the stainless steel should be removed after the unit has been installed.
2. Place the unit in its location ensuring that the ventilation grills for the compressor in front A and
in the back of the unit B are not obstructed in any way.
3. Leveling the unit is achieved by adjusting the bullet feet located at bottom of each leg C.
4. Connect power supply with the power cord supplied with the unit to 120V outlet. The power cord
is located in the compressor compartment & can be pulled out from below the compressor F.
5. The digital temperature display G is factory preset to operate the refrigerated display between
34F-39F. A defrost setting for 5 minutes every 2 hours has been factory preset and will be
indicated displaying df on the digital display during the defrost cycle.
6. Ensure that the back of the unit is not obstructed and that there should be a minimum clearance
of 2” or if the unit goes up against a wall there must be a hole in the wall behind the compressor
section equivalent to the hole behind the equipment to allow for ventilation.
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
1. We recommend that the customer sign a Preventative Maintenance contract with an local
authorized refrigeration company for periodical inspection to ensure proper care of the
refrigeration system and to be maintained, inspected and cleaned as often as the refrigeration
company suggests it should be, based on use and dust accumulation on the condenser on the
condensing unit.
2. Condensing unit cleaning: On a weekly basis or as needed open the stainless steel ventilation
door A, carefully inspect the condenser fins for any dust accumulation on the surface and
between the fins. Remove dust by using a vacuum or by using compressed air to blow it out. We
do not recommend that it get brushed off since the dust could be pushed into and between the fins
and restricting the airflow. Also wash the stainless steel ventilation door A.
3. Evaporator fan and basin cleaning: On a monthly basis or as needed open the refrigerator door
towards the center of the unit and check the evaporator coil J. Ensure that there is nothing
obstructing the plastic fan blade cover and verify that the plastic drain pipe is securely connected
to the drain of the evaporator.
4. Cleaning exterior and interior of unit: Normal soil on stainless steel can be removed by using a
liquid detergent soap and a damp cloth and should be wiped off in the direction of the grain in
the stainless steel, NEVER RUB IN A CIRCULAR MOTION. Rubber door gaskets should also
be cleaned using luke-warm water with a liquid detergent soap and a damp cloth and then wiped
dry. The sani-clean cutting board should be removed and washed using a liquid soap and an
abrasive pad.
Fulfilling these maintenance requirements will ensure an excellent running condition of your Astor
Refrigerated equipment and diminish service repair costs in the long term.

setting, press the up key to choose from 0 or 2. Once chosen, press the set key and after
approximately 5 seconds the display will return to its normal operation of displaying temperature.
The refrigerated unit has been factory tested and all control settings have been factory preset for
optimum performance. Please refer to attached operating instructions of electronic control for any
adjustments that may be required to be done by an authorized refrigeration contractor only. Astor
recommends that the control not be tampered with and that all parameters remain at there current
settings. Astor must be notified prior to any adjustments to the parameters during warranty period
to maintain warranty on the equipment.
