Utilisation
Tips:
This lint remover can damage structured fabrics or very soft materials such as angora. Therefore always test the lint remover at an inconspicuous place by turning the transparent part of the distance spacer 3 fi rst to the level "Thick" and then adjusting it to the speed level I. In this way you can gently test whether the setting is suffi cient for the textile without damaging it.
- 7 -
The appliance may not come into contact with moisture. Therefore, do not use the lint remover on moist fabrics.
1. Lay the textile on a fl at surface, such as an ironing board. Ensure that the surface to be processed has no wrinkles. Otherwise, the textile could be damaged.
2. Turn the distance spacer 3 to the desired position or remove it com- pletely (see Chapter "Removing/replacing the spacer"):
- "Thick" with large bobbles and coarse textiles (large spacing to the cutter
knives)
- "Thin" with small lint/bobbles and fi ne textiles (small spacing to the cutter
knives)
- Remove the spacer, only for very fi ne lint (virtually no spacing to the cutter
knives).
3. Using the On/Off switch/Speed switch 2, switch the lint remover to the speed level I
- 8 -
4. Guide the shaver area 4 lightly and without pressure over the textile. The fl uff and bobbles will be shaved off and collected in the catchment container 5.
5. If you are confi dent with the handling and the results are satisfactory, you may want to place the On/Off switch/Speed switch 2 at the speed level II so as to be able to work faster.
6. When you want to stop the operation, switch the lint remover off with the On/Off switch/Speed switch 2.
Tips:
Empty the catchment container 5 in good time. Should the motor become weaker or stop, this may be due to an overfull catchment container 5. Therefore always check the catchment container 5 before inserting new batteries.
- 9 -
Removing/replacing the spacer
To replace it, place the spacer 3 on the cutting head and press it fi rmly. To remove it, pull the spacer 3 downwards. To protect the shaver area 4 you should, if you are not using the appliance, remove the spacer 3 and, in replacement, fi t the protective cap on the shaver area 4. Ensure that the elevations on the inner edge of the protective cap do not grip into the grooves on the edge of the shaver area 4. Otherwise, the protective cap will not hold.
Cleaning and care
Emptying the catchment container
Pull the catchment container 5 off straight to the rear. Empty out the textile remains. • Replace the catchment container 5 so that it is seated fi rmly.
