POGEES
DA1000E-20
is a portable, stereo, Digital to
Analog Converter that provides a professional refer-
ence standard for uncolored reference monitoring of digi-
tal audio sources. Applications include open reel and video
based recorders for CD mastering, DAT Recorders, Hard
applications, and CD players. The
DA1000E-20
features 20
Bit resolution with unequaled sonic performance and ver-
satility. 12v operation makes it ideal for portable use.
Digital Inputs
Standard interfaces include AES/EBU, SPDIF, Optical,
Sony SDIF and SDIF-II.
Front end digital processing is provided by a high speed
custom-configured gate array which extracts the maximum
performance from the D/A converters.
Converters
8x oversampled digital data drives two 20-bit Digital to
Analog converters.
These converters eliminate the usual large transitions
around zero, thus providing excellent low level performance
in addition to the inherent high level performance.
Special Filters
Award-winning Apogee filter technology is incorporated
in this unit to do away with the troublesome high frequency
images found in most of today’s consumer and professional
D/A converters.
Low Jitter Clock
Like its companion the
AD-1000
, the
DA1000E-20
fea-
tures Apogee’s
C768 Low Jitter Clock
. The
C768
references
to external sync sources and regenerates the clock, providing
an electronic flywheel effect that greatly reduces short term
timing irregularities, or “jitter.”
Analog Outputs
An internal gold pin matrix provides various analog output
formats at gold male XLR output connectors, bypassing the
pitfalls of automatic balanced/unbalanced circuits.
