Advanced solutions for today’s advanced systems.
Home installations have become much more sophisticated and diverse from what they were years ago. Today’s clients often expect much more than just a traditional home theater room or simple distributed audio system. Being able to access audiovisual (AV) systems and Internet content anywhere in the house through a single, easy‑to‑use interface is often required. AV and computers are converging so much that custom installers must now be masters of networking and computing technologies inorder to be successful. This convergence between computers, entertainment, andnetworking is real.
AV solutions with an IT pedigree
With AV power solutions behaving more like IT network solutions, it makes sense to turn to a solution provider with a strong track record in network protection and management. No one brings a stronger combination of AV and IT experience to home theater installations than APC

bySchneiderElectricAV.
Every day, APC protects and supports many of the most critical networks in theworld, including those at Microsoft development of new power protection technologies, resulting in countless industry awards, design patents, and an installed base numbering in the tens ofmillions of units. That experience finds its way into every APC AV solution.

High-performance systems begin (and end) with power.
High‑end AV systems depend on reliable, available power just as any computer system or network does. Poorpower can have a noticeable impact on sound and video quality. Component power supplies and electrical circuits can be stressed or even destroyed outright. Power outages can result in the loss of system presets and missed DVR recordings.
And thegrowing presence of hard drives and network connectivity makes AVsystems even more susceptible to damage or compromised performanceas the result of power disturbances.
Several types of power anomalies can negatively aect your AV experience
Power anomaly
Oscillatory transient (sometimes referred toasa “surge”)
Very short (1 – 3cycles) increase distortion of voltage waveform
Impulse transient (aka“spike”)
Dramat ic and instantaneous increasein voltage
Noise interference
Electromagnetic and radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI)
” S AG / S W E L L” (aka“brownout” and“surge”)
Sustainedlow or high RMS voltage levels

Legendary ReliabilityTM from the world leader in power protection.
APC AV offers a comprehensive range of power protection solutions, allowinginstallers tocustomizetheir solutions for every home.
Surge protection
Surge‑protected outlets proactively protect components and eliminate potential insurance claim hassles. They provide guaranteed protection against surges, spikes, and even lightning. Tested to the toughest standards of UL 1449 and IEEE, APC AV offers very low let‑through voltage ratings, ensuring the best level of protection. (All APC products except model INWALLKIT)
Isolated noise filtering
Isolated EMI/RFI noise filter banks maximize sound and video quality, and allow your system to perform to its best capabilities. All APC AV solutions virtually eliminate EMI/RFI on the AC power circuit. (All APC AV products)
Voltage regulation
Voltage regulation prevents the most common power disturbances fromimpacting audio and video quality and stressing component power supplies. APC AV’s automatic voltage regulation (AVR) corrects sags (lowAC voltage) and swells (high AV voltage) to keep the RMS voltage withinproper operating ranges for component power supplies. This helps systems perform at maximum capability and efficiency. (H Type and SType)
Pure sine wave battery backup
In the event of a power outage, an extremely deep power sag, or overvoltage, pure sine wave power from internal batteries will keep an entire system up and running without any interruption or loss of presets, DVR recordings, ormedia server data. APC AV solutions feature an inverter that outputs apure sine wave when on battery, ensuring the purest power possible forall your components. (S Type only)
Network management andenvironmental monitoring
Remote control capabilities via an internal web server help eliminate costly and time‑consuming service calls. Installersand users can use the Internet to remotely reboot hung equipment, adjust various unit parameters, initiate self‑tests, and monitor changing unit and power conditions. Further, an RS232 port enables installers to integrate the unit into their preferred home automation network with full access to all of its management capabilities. Abuilt‑in environmental monitoring port allows for both temperature and humidity monitoring andreporting. For example, the automation control unit can be programmed to respond to an alarm caused by an overheated rack by safely shutting down the equipment until the problem is addressed. (S20BLK only)
Approved by Underwriters Laboratories
Unlike some other vendors’ AV power solutions, all APC products are listed to the relevant safety agency requirements. This helps ensure products function safely and reliably. The National Electrical Code electronics are listed to the relevant standards by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory such as UL, CSA, or TÜV. Beware of products that simply claim to “meet” or are “tested to” these safety standards. Products should be “listed.” (All APC AV products)
