Installing the ICE-S
To ensure material compatibility, a multipurpose glue for ABS, PVC, and CPVC must be used. This will ensure a proper bond between the 3/4” PVC and the black ABS Bin Drain Water Inlet (Connection #3).
If a water filter is being used, install the ICE-S unit between the filter and the ice machine.
The ICE-S unit has two Bin Drain Water Outlets on the top of the cap to allow position of the unit on either side of the ice machine.
1. Turn off the ice machine and the water supply.
NOTE: The ICE-S unit must be installed to the underside of the bin or to the wall below the bin drain level.
2. Place the ICE-S on its side (horizontally) and attach it to the ice bin with mounting straps.
3. Position the ICE-S unit so the two 3/4” PVC Drain Water Outlets are oriented in the 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock positions.
4. Glue the PVC plug in the 6 o’clock PVC Drain Water Outlet.
7. Connect the tap water line to the Tap Water Inlet on the ICE-S (Connection #1) with 3/8” copper tubing. Be sure to push the tubing 3/4” into the quick connector so the tubing is fully seated.
NOTE: The ICE-S unit uses 3/8” quick connectors instead of flared or compression fittings.
NOTE: Use caution when cutting the copper tubing to not flatten or pinch the ends to be inserted into the quick connectors.
NOTE: To remove the copper tubing, hold down the dark gray gripper ring next to the tubing, then push the tubing in and pull out in one continuous motion.
8. Connect the ice machine inlet to the Tap Water Outlet on the ICE-S (Connection #2) with 3/8” copper tubing.
9. Use the included insulation material to insulate the tubing running from the Tap Water Outlet on the ICE-S to the ice machine inlet.
10. Check for any water leaks.
5. Connect the ice bin drain line to the Bin Drain Water Inlet on
6. Install a PVC drain line from the Bin Drain Water Outlet on
