Be sure to use only the supplied AC adapter and that your power source matches the rating listed for it. If you are not sure, check with your dealer or with your local power company Avoid strong shocks. Don't use the AC adapter if it received a strong shock, has
fallen down or it appears damaged; immediately contact an authorized service center. Grasp your handset firmly. Otherwise it may fall and be damaged.
Do not operate near unshielded electrical blasting caps or in an explosive
atmosphere Do not use the phone near water, or spill liquid of any kind on it. If you think that
some liquid is penetrated into the phone, immediately unplug it, dry it by a soft and clean cloth and contact your dealer. Respect the environment conditions. All the parts of this equipment are designed
for indoor use only. Never expose them to extremely hot or cold temperature (as specified in the Chapter 13). Don't expose the cordless telephone to excessive vibrations as well as dusty or rainy places. Never try to disassemble or service the equipment by yourself (aside from the

Install the base in a dust-free location where the relative humidity and temperature should be inside normal value for any electric appliances. Moreover, the base should be away from direct sunlight and at least 1 meter from other electronic devices which can create strong interferences (e.g. PC, air conditioning systems, TV etc.). Finally, make sure that both power and telephone outlets are available nearby and put the base as high as possible in order to ensure the best radio signal.
Do not put anything on the power and telephone cables and don't place the base
!
where the cables be walked on. If the cables become damaged or frayed, contact the service center immediately.

3.10 Temporary Tone Dial Switchover
If you are using the pulse dialing because your telephone line doesn't support tone dialing (please see Par. 2.6), you might not be able to access certain external services (e.g. automatic call centers, voice mailboxes, interactive telephone systems etc.), because they need the tone dialing. You can avoid this limitation and access them anyway doing this:
1. Call the number of the service you need to access as you do normally.
2. As soon as you reached the service, press and hold the key until is displayed: your phone is temporarily switched to the tone dial mode, so you can use the service.

3.13 Battery checking and handling
3.13.a Battery Level Indicator
The icon displays continuously at the top right corner. It shows the level of your battery power: the more bars you see, the more power you have left.
When the batteries are low, all the bars disappear, you hear a warning tone and the icon becomes red and starts blinking. When the batteries are too low for the phone to operate, the handset automatically turns off with warning beeps. In this case, place the handset on the charger to charge the handset batteries for 12 hours ad described in par.
2.3. During the charge, the bars inside the battery icon will "move" (shown alternatively). At the end of the charging process (battery fully charged) all the bars will be steadily shown inside the icon.
?
When the batteries are new, they don't provide 100% of their efficiency; it means that they might be discharged earlier. To reach the full battery duty, you have to "run-in" the batteries with at least 3-4 deep charging/discharging cycles, after that they will reach their maximum capacity.
3.13.b Restoring the battery duty
When possible, to keep the maximum battery duty, charge the batteries only when they are completely discharged, (i.e. when the battery icon has no bars inside or, at least, no more than one bar) and don't remove the handset from the base before the necessary time to provide a full charge. If with the time the batteries don't allow the full duty, try to fully discharge them (by normally using the phone) till making the handset automatically switched off as over stated, then leave the handset in the base for 15 hours before removing it. Repeat this deep charging/discharging cycle for at least 3 times. If the battery duty still doesn't increase, replace the batteries.

3.14 Out of Range Indication
The bars at the right of the icon continuously show the signal strength received from the base. If you are too far from the base, the radio signal might become too weak and the phone might not access the telephone line. In these conditions you can't make or receive phone calls, for this reason, the icon blinks on the display.
If you carry the handset too far from the base during a call, the telephone line
?
disconnects and the handset returns to Standby mode. Check to see if the icon is blinking on the display. If so, move the handset closer to the base.
?
If the radio coverage of your base is not sufficient for your purpose, you might consider to buy an additional optional base and register your handset on it, obtaining a small personal cordless network. For further details please see par. 8.3 and 9.3.

The numbers contained in the SIM phonebook are copied into the handset one and added to the entries already stored in it which are not overwritten. The maximum number of entries is 200. If your handset phonebook already contains 140 entries, only the first 60 entries on the SIM card will be copied.
This function will only copy numbers stored in your SIM card. Check that all numbers
