Architects' And Engineers' Specifications

The intercom amplifier shall be Alpha Communications®
model IA543 or approved equal and shall provide
amplification, c ontrol and power c ircuits needed to operate the
entire intercom system. T he amplifier shall feature integrated
circuit amplification, integrated circuit call tone osc illator
(supporting steady and warble tone modes). User access to the
voice volume cont rol and tone volume c ontrol shall be provided for
field adjustment.

Unit shall also provide for AC, DC or Magloc k (12VDC/24VDC) door
release with t hree (3) selec table delayed door timing modes.
Steady and warble tone options shall be available to identify a call
from the entrance panel and/or call butt on at suite entrance. Unit
shall include power LED and selec table opt ions to provide button
hold timeout and Talk interlock (T ALK button must be pressed
before DOOR button can be activated). A spec ific function
connector shall be provided to fac ilitate c onnec tion to devices
that provide multiple entrance panel functionality.

Low voltage wiring shall be used and plug in type wiring
harness, with pigtail connect ors, shall be provided for installation
wiring.

and building codes.

IA543 Apartment Intercom Amplifier

The Alpha Communicat ions® IA543 Power Pack Amplifier is a self-
contained unit not requiring an external amplifier. The IA543 is
designed for use with 5, 4 or 3 wire apartment speaker type
stat ions and provides amplification, c ontrol and power c ircuits
needed to operate a complete apartment intercom syst em. Voice
volume cont rol and tone volume c ontrol are easily adjustable
through the screwdriver slot on t he front panel. It is also a
direc t replacement for the previous model(s) PK543 and PK543A.

Additional functions include multiple entrance operat ion with the

IA502; AC, DC or Maglock configurations with three (3) selectable

door timing modes; post office door lock release; st eady or warble
call tones; power LED; select able door button hold timeout; and
selectable Talk before door interlock.
