HTE40 Series 2-Wire AlphaEntry™/QwikBUS™ Handsets

The Alpha Communicat ions® / S.T.R.™ HTE40 AlphaEntry™ / QwikBUS™ Series handsets
are designed to work as an apartment type handset intercom station, using a minimal of
wiring, when used in conjunction with our AlphaEntry™ (v5.0 or later) software and/or
hardware. All HTE40 handset s in a building can be wired on only two (2) c ommon (loop)
wires! Choose from White or Anthracite (Charcoal) c olors.

These att ractive handsets easily surface mount right on t he wall or over a single gang flush
elect rical back box (or plaster ring). Handsets can be changed to desk mount with the
addition of a model TZ1003 series desk adapter.

All HTE40 series AlphaEntry™ / QwikBUS™ handsets feature textured finish (t o minimize
scratches and fingerprints), elect ronic tone signaling, heavy duty replaceable coiled cord
and (3) three momentary butt on switc hes. These switc hes c an be used for door release, or
other signaling func tions, depending upon AlphaEntry™ syst em c onfiguration.

Architects' And Engineers' Specifications

The 2- Wire handset st ation(s) shall be Alpha Communicat ions® / S.T.R.™ AlphaEntry™ /

QwikBUS™ HTE40 (in White or Anthracite) color. Handset(s) shall be mounted (surfac e or

desktop with optional adapter). Handset(s) shall feature electret c ondenser microphone for
exceptional voice fidelity, and half-duplex voice. Handsets that include carbon transmitter
or other lesser voic e technologies, shall not be acc eptable. Handset shall have a textured
finish and heavy duty coil c ord. Handset shall include a door release (KEY SYMBOL) button,
auxiliary (ROUND DOT) push button and LED Programming butt on. Push buttons shall be
clearly visible and shall be marked in a different color. Handset(s) shall include a built- in
elect ronic c all tone signal. Handset(s) shall require only two (2) common (loop) wires for
system operation.
