Qufeatures several functions that protect thesystemfromunauthorisedmixer or appaccess,andrestrict howmuchcontrol is giventocertainoperators.For example,topreventa regulareventoperator fromchangingtheconfiguration,ortolimitnon-technical bar stafftosimple control of justthe backgroundmusicandpaging.
LockSurface–Usethis buttononthe Homescreentoprotect the surface controls while the mixer is unattended.If apasswordhas beenset thenthis will be neededtoenter andexit surfacelock.
User Permissions -There are three User Profiles available:
Admin–Has accesstoeverything.Canconfigure the mixer
andsetuser permissionsandpasswords.
Standard–Cancontrol the live mix but is lockedout of system
of certainchannels by beingrestrictedtoCustomLayer only.

Pink noiseis anexcellent source for testingspeakers.Itgeneratesequalenergy per octave acrossall frequencies.Itcanbe usedtocheck that all speakerdrivers are workingandtolistenforphasingandpolarity issues.
Set the LR andmonitor master faders totheir normal operatingposition.Gotothe Setup / Audio/ SigGenscreen.Select Pink Noiseandmake sure itsLevel is fully off.Nowselect LRandslowly raisethe SigGenlevel tohear the noiseinthe PA speakers.Alsotest the monitor speakersinthisway.

10.1Reset Mix Settings–Astarting point for mixing
Thisbuttoninthe Scenesscreeninstantly resetsthemixer toaknownstartingpoint for mixing.It providesaquick way toreset the processing,mixes andpatchingbeforeashoworafteranotheruser has finishedwithit.
All parametersthat canbe savedinscenesare reset toa factory default to‘zerothe board’ready for thenewmixingsession.
If youwant tokeepyour current settings thensavethese as aScene before resettingthe mixer.
This reset only affect parameters that are storedinScenes.It doesnotaffect existingscenesandlibrariesstoredinthe mixer.
This reset is notaffectedby the Global Filter and
Safes settings.However,it doesreset the filter andclear anychannelsafesthat were previously set.
TouchandholdtheReset MixSettingsbuttonfor 1seconduntil the confirmationscreenappears.
Creating your own start settings–Youcan
start by resettingthe mixer andtheneditingthepatching,levelsandparameters tosuityour startingpreferences.Name andstore this as aScene,forexample Scene 1 “ResetBoard”.
10.2System HardReset–Cleareverything
A power upreset is availableif youneedtofully resettheQumixersettings anditsmemories.This couldbedone toclear the systemout beforesendingthe mixertoaclient,orifyoususpect asystemproblem.
Toreset mixparameters before startingashoworsoundcheck,useaScene or the Reset Mix Settingsfunction.
First turnoffthe systemincludingamplifiers andpoweredspeakers.
To hard resettheQu mixer-PressandholdthetouchscreenReset andSetupkeys together andthenpower upthemixer.Keepthe keys pressedfor at least5seconds whilethe mixerboots.Releasethe keys.
