If you have a complex environment with many walls and obstacles, you might find the wireless coverage doesn't meet up to the requirement. Currently, there are 3 different approach to solve the problem
1. Using a larger antenna: Higher gain antennas can increase the distance of the wireless signal. But at
most powerful solution to get the desirable wireless
the expense of the coverage angle. High gain antennas do not actually increase the signal strength, instead, they concentrate the antenna power at certain directions. This means some angle would not be covered as a result.
2. Using WDS repeater function: WDS function allow an AP to repeat the signal from another AP, thus increase the coverage. However, the setup involved software and is more complicated.
3. Using a Power Booster: Power booster increase the signal strength by electrically amplifying the RF power to larger value. Thus increase the distance without compromising the coverage angle. The installation doesn't involve any software, just connect one end to antenna and the other end to the AP.
Application Usage
Whether you want to extend the coverage of your AP/ Wireless Router, or to make your wireless IP camera to go the extra distance. As long as your wireless equipment have a connector for antenna, you can use our booster to extend the distance by 2 times or more. Simple take out the original antenna, plug it into one end of the booster. And connect the other end to the wireless device (cable included). Then you are ready to go.
Specially Tuned for the 11b Device
AirLive has specially tuned the booster for optimal performance when used with 802.11g device (the booster is also compatible with 802.11b). Unlike competitor's device which requires user to tune down the output power of the RF source for better performance, AirLive specially tunes the power input to the common output of the wireless device. The result is much better EVM value which translate into better reception quality
The WPA-2400IG is available in 3 different output levels: 20dBm(100mW), 23dBm(200mW), 27dBm(500mW) to suit your need.
· WPA-2400IG-20: 20dBm(100mW) output. Increase distance up to 2 times.
· WPA-2400IG-23: 23dBm (200mW) output. Increase distance up to 4 times.
· WPA-2400IG-27: 27dBm (500mW) output. Increase distance up to 8 times.
*Note: The actual distance gain depends on the environment factors such as interference and obstacles.
