Bologna airport was awarded the ACI Europe Best Airport Awards for 2009 in the category of airports 1.000.000-5.000.000 of passengers, stealing the award from Turin-Caselle. It was also one of the Italian airports to have had the honor of hosting the Concorde as an exemplary Air France Concorde was hired by a firm of Bologna for its employees.
