INSTALLATION INFORMATION
• Insert the module into either the slot labeled SCU-A or
SCU-B.
• Connect a VT100 terminal configured for 9600 band (8N1) to
the female DB-9 craft port on the front of the SCU.
• After the SCU has booted, the LOGIN prompt will appear on
the VT100 terminal (if connected to the active SCU).
Otherwise, a message indicating connection to the Standby
SCU will b e displayed if the VT100 terminal is so connected.
• Menu access to the Active SCU is also available through the
Admin port located on the backplane (J10).
• To configure the Ethernet port, us e the arrow keys and Enter
key to navigate the following path:

System Info
The System Info menu provides basic information about the unit
as well as data fields for editing information.
System Status
The System Status menu provides information on the general
status of the unit.
System Configuration
The System Configuration menu allow s the user to set the
Total Access 4303 operational configuration parameters.
System Utility
The System Utility menu allows the user to view and set the
system level parameters that pertain to upgrading, restoring,
and testing the unit.
Modules
The Modules menu provides options that allow the user to
configure, test, and view status of the installed option modules
as well as the SCU.
Router
The router menu provides options that allow the user to define,
configure, and monitor all Tota l Access 430 3 rou ter functions.
Dedicated Maps
The Dedicated Maps menu assigns dedicated cross c onnects
between any two ports in the unit.
GR-303 RT
The GR-303 RT menu allows the user to configure the GR 303
capabilities of the un it. This includes creatin g both switc h and
dropside DSXs and their appropriate settings.
