INSTALLATION INFORMATION
• Connect the module to the I/O Module connectors located on the backplane of the TA 4303 unit. For

Refer to the above figure for a diagram of installed BNC Modules.
• The installed BNC Module provides two dual BNC Female connect ors. C ontinue the installation by
connecting the appropriate cables to the TA 4303.
• Once powered, the SCU will automatically activate the BNC Module using the current module switch
settings. No further configuration is necessary to activate the interfaces.
• Once insta l led, use the terminal me nus to configure and c ontrol the DS3 or STS-1 modules (see the
SCU Quick Start, 61200334L1-13A).
• Use the arrow keys on your VT-100 terminal keyboard to move to the Modules menu; press Enter in
the Menu column of the appropriate module.
Disconnect the TA4303 Chassis from power before installing the BNC Module.

• For single mode operation use BNC pair ‘A’ for Slots 1 and 3 and BNC
pair ‘B’ for Slots 2 and 4.
• For the TA 4303 to function properly in DS3 or STS-1 redundant mode, only
BNC pair ‘A’ may be used.
