Apply conductive gel provided to treatment area. Insert cotton bud/Q tip into gold
cotton bud/Q tip holder. (If using double-ended cotton bud/Q tip, cut in half). Dip cotton
bud/Q tip into gel and apply to treatment area. Small pulses of completely safe electrical
energy pass through the gel on to the cotton bud/Q tip. When the cotton bud/Q tip is
applied to the treatment area, this energy passes through to the hair follicle. The water
and salt solution are then chemically changed to sodium hydroxide, which slowly
destroys the hair root and papilla. This allows for the painless and permanent removal
of the hair.

To understand how hairs grow and how you can remove them permanently, there are
three things you need to know. First, a person has more than 500 of these follicles per
square inch. Each of these follicles are capable of growing a hair at any time. However,
less than 20% of them grow at the same time.
Second, the hair follicles grow in cycles. Since not all grow at the same time, there are
periods of rest for the follicles. During this rest period, the hair may remain in the follicle
for a long time or it may fall out. The follicle actually shrinks during the rest period and
the dermal papilla cells are separated from the bottom of the follicle. When the rest
period is over, the follicle grows down to meet the dermal papilla again, and the cells
start making another hair. This cycling of each follicle goes on for a lifetime.
For many of the hairs that are typically treated by permanent methods, the period of
active growth may only last for 2 weeks after you see the hair. As you will learn, it is vital
to treat these hairs within this 2 week period while they are still growing.
Third, it takes 8-12 weeks for a hair to grow from the base of the follicle to the surface
of the skin so you can see it. What this means is that even if you just tweeze a hair out,
you have to wait 8-12 weeks for the hair to grow again. Many people think if they tweeze

E FFECTIVE U SE OF E-PEN
To effectively stop hair growth permanently, you must treat the hair in its growth cycle,
when the Dermal Papilla cells in the hair root are in their active phase. During the rest
period in the hair growth cycle, the Dermal Papilla cells retreat below the follicle so cannot
be treated.
When you first remove a hair or hairs,
you do not know which hairs are in
growth cycle or rest period. Only
when hairs re-appear are you sure
you can treat them permanently. You
have around 2 weeks of growth cycle
once a hair has appeared, to apply
effective treatment.
The process of Permanent hair
removal is not therefore instant.
You will need some patience, but will
be rewarded by less and less hairs reappearing after each treatment.
This diagram shows the electric pulse going all the way into the hair follicle
through the conductive gel, changing the chemical structure of the water
and salt solution to sodium hydroxide in the follicle.As a result the hair root
is destroyed allowing painless removal of the hair.

P RE-TREATMENT N OTES FOR THE E-PEN
P ERMANENT H AIR R EMOVAL S YSTEM
For successful treatment, please carry out the following:-
Facial Hair Remove all make up using your normal cleanser. The area to be
•
treated must be thoroughly clean, dry and non-greasy.
Body Hair Thoroughly cleanse the treatment area as above. You should cut
•
long hairs as short as possible with scissors or a razor before applying the
conductive gel treatment pad.
Please do not do the following:-
• DO NOT
• DO NOT use perfume or perfumed products prior to use
DO NOT use on open abrasions, inflamed skin or sunburnt areas
•
DO NOT use on hairs growing from moles at any time
•
DO NOT use on delicate areas such as eyelids, inner ear or nasal hair
•
DO NOT use during pregnancy or during first few days of menstruation
•
DO NOT use near varicose veins
•
DO NOT use the e-PEN without the conductive gel when using the
•
DO NOT exceed recommended treatment times
•
Do not use if you have any heart condition or use a heart pacemaker

C ONDUCTIVE P ADS &CORD
The Verseo e-PEN has one main cord which plugs into the back of the unit. The
cord divides into 3 separate cap ends:
White Cap: Plugs into moustache or rectangular pad (active) i.e. treatment area.
Green Cap: Plugs into circular pad (non active)
White Cap: This is a spare lead to be used should you wish to treat two areas

F ACE T REATMENT
• Thoroughly clean treatment area as described on Pre-treatment (Page 7).
• Cut the cotton bud/Q tip in half and insert. The cotton bud/Q tip should sit against gold
ring with stem fully inserted.
•
Dip cotton bud/Q tip into the conductive gel making sure that gel also covers the gold
cotton bud/Q tip holder at the front of the control unit. Cotton bud should NOT now
fall out. This ensures that the cotton cotton bud/Q tip is fully conductive.
(See diagram 1)
• Hold e-PEN the following way (see diagram 2).
• Slide the switch to the

• When touching the treatment area, green
conductive light
must light up, if not put more conductive gel
onto cotton bud/Q tip and gold cotton bud/Q tip
holder.

• The Gold cotton bud/Q tip holder can be easily
removed for cleaning (see diagram opposite).
Simply insert nail between plastic and gold tip
holder, and pull out. Rinse in warm water to
remove surplus gel.
T REATMENT OF F INE F ACIAL H AIRS
Apply cotton bud/Q tip to treatment area, press activator gold button to commence 20
second treatment time. Touch gel with the cotton bud/Q tip. Green conductivity LED light
will come on. If you do not touch the gel continuously - the green conductivity light will go
out.
e-PEN automatically resets itself when good contact is made. The automatic timer
buzzes when the 20-second treatment time is finished and resets itself for the next
treatment. Once the gold button is released the conductivity stops. Repeat the process for
the next treatment area. Remove the treated hair with

diagram 1). Apply
LED lights up to show conductivity. Keep activator button pressed until buzzer sounds and green LED
light goes out. GENTLY PULL hairs out with tweezers provided.

➤ After 1 minute, the green LED light remains on and one beep sounds to
indicate 2nd stage of treatment (2.5 minutes).

➤ Three beeps indicate end of complete treatment and green LED light goes out.

Will I achieve permanent hair removal?
In a word YES! Provided you thoroughly clean the treatment area with cleansing lotion
or alcohol-free soap wash and carefully follow the instructions given. Be patient, hair
grows in 8-12 week cycles. After 60 days with regular treatment, you will see positive
results.
Is the Verseo e-PEN as good as needle electrolysis?
Better, because it can treat many hairs at once. It is therefore faster. It is painless
because E-PEN is non-invasive. There are no side effects such as pitting or scarring
caused by needle electrolysis. It is easier because anyone can use it. Needle electrolysis
works but requires a fully qualified professional beautician to administer the treatment.
The Verseo e-PEN is the safe and painless way to permanent hair removal.
I have dark skin - Can I use it?
You may use e-PEN on any skin type, black, brown, yellow or white. It does not scar
black skin which needle electrolysis can.

Is The Verseo e-PEN really painless?

Yes. All you feel is a slight tingling sensation when you use it on your face. Apply more
gel to reduce this. Metal teeth fillings sometimes react to the treatment and you may
experience a slight metallic taste which only lasts for a short time. This is quite normal.
Occasionally your skin will turn pink around the treatment area. This again is normal and
will disappear in a short time.
The red light will not go on?
This normally indicates the 2 x AA (MN 1500) alkaline batteries need replacing.
The green conductivity light will not go on?
Poor conductivity maybe due to treatment area not being clean, or insufficient gel. Make
sure your finger is damp when touching the gold probe button when touching the hair -
this helps conductivity. Make sure the cotton bud/Q tip is thoroughly damp and pushed
firmly into the control unit so that the cotton touches the gold metal ring.
Check the red power light is on, if not the batteries need replacing.
What causes excessive hair growth?
A number of conditions. Hormonal changes, stress, menopause, puberty, medication or
hereditary conditions. These can all influence hair growth.
After treatment
If the skin is spotty, try a non-greasy antiseptic cream.
After treatment make up
Simply follow your normal beauty and make up routines after treatment.
